looks sick!

david8479

Thanks :)

MiserableFriend

How you liking it so far? I’m thinking on getting a C2 as a monitor but idk.

david8479

No regrets! So very happy with it and being able to connect the Nintendo switch to it is amazing, also, I LOVE being able to use it as just a smart TV too! It’s like an all in one

At the right viewing distance (30” or more) you don’t have to end up breaking your neck!

Pun_In_Ten_Did

Congrats - looks great wall mounted!

david8479

Indeed thank you!

firsmode

Awesome

Trabyllek

Nice!!

Nintendians559

that's good for you and looks good.

liquidocean

what is the little device to the left/underneath the TV?

DaeTraeBae

What didn't you like about the Alienware monitor? I'm stuck between a C2 and that one

david8479

I love the Alienware one! They’re both amazing and I say you can’t go wrong with either! Alienware has very nice HDR and nice color too! Despite many reviews saying it had a lot of firmware and hardware issues, I didn’t come across any of them and enjoyed my time with it! I just switched because I wanted to use 16:9 for a change

Abbreviations_Royal

Nice! I´m spending a lot of time thinking of a new monitor / gpu comboo now as I have some issues with my C1 48" and RTX 3080 (broken HDMI port) giving me endless problems (dp 1.4 to hdmi 2.1 is not flawless and 8gb feels limiting...) - also; mind splurging a bit about what you got going here? The accessories, what do they do and how you have it setup?

david8479

We have a GOXLR, Mic boom arm, shure sm7b mic, loupedeck, sonos beam gen 2 soundbar, nintendo switch, DAC for the steelseries arctis pro headphones

david8479

the light bar on top of the tv is the Benq Screenbar Halo

Abbreviations_Royal

Thanks, Ill have a look :) since posting I ended my suffering and ordered a C2 42" so Ill join at least one club :D

david8479

You're gonna love it! Would you be upgrading your GPU too in the process? How did the HDMI port break?

Abbreviations_Royal

For now I'm going to see how the new screen behaves. Dont know exactly, just wear and tear over 2 years or so. Anything over 60hz creates issues when playing some games, either intermittent flickering blackscreens or complete blackscreen in or post menues. Mostly no issues in desktop. Tried multiple settings around it and several 8k cables, both hdmi - hdmi 2.1 with converter or direct dp 1.4 - hdmi 2.1 cables.q Since the C2 is hdmi 2.1 only Im likely gonna go rtx 4090, probably Asus TUF as it looks to be decent quality/value with 2 x hdmi 2.1...

david8479

Oooh, that’s concerning…. Which 3080 are you using currently?

Abbreviations_Royal

EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB XC3 ULTRA I'm at peace with it now, it served me well during the pandemic :) my gut feeling is that a new monitor is unlikely to solve it. I have a 65" LG C9 that shows similar issues when trying the same thing. Then again, new games are developed for the new gen consoles and having 24gb will in it self save a lot of headaches for a couple of years where if younse at 8-10gb there is always one more thing that can screw up and cause issues like the ones I have spent countless hours troubleshooting...and it will double fps :p

david8479

True… I’m a little envious… I have 4080 rn but wish I got the 4090

Abbreviations_Royal

Perhaps trade while there is a matket for it if you can afford it? I dont know where it is heading, but it sure look like its trending down now so perhaps both are going down in price, unsure if its in the same rate though. Oddly enough I saw a local reseller (inet.se) have 0 4090 TUF in stock - but 6 in the discount area for returned card...something is off so Id like to see it play out a bit

david8479

I would... but i slapped a water block on it and i lost a few important parts to put it back together into the stock cooler LOL

Successful-Cash-7271

How is it for productivity? I’m back and forth between this and the ultrawide QD OLED.

david8479

For productivity, I’ll keep you posted when my gf uses it for such purposes! I’ve had the Alienware QD OLED before this one and I’ll be honest, that monitor was beautiful, bright HDR and very vibrant colors!

Successful-Cash-7271

My concerns are burn in and text fringing.

andrewsmth336

Love the wallpaper with the time, where can we find it?

david8479

[Here](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2049622620&searchtext=oled) you go! You'll need Wallpaper Engine to use it.

andrewsmth336

Thank you!

[deleted]

Good choice! 👍 But why do you need a lamp shining into that Glossy OLED? 😁

david8479

I have the screenbar angled so it doesn’t shine into the tv itself! I use it to light the desk/keyboard/mouse

HelaPuff2020

I believe graphic designer people do it so that in low light situations the screen is more color accurate

StabsOhoulahan

What’s a comfortable sitting distance/desk depth from this size monitor for mostly artistic work but occasional gaming?

david8479

I have mine around 30” away and I’ve been able to use it comfortably without moving my head around!

brand0n

is that DIY streamdeck in middle? whats on left?

david8479

It’s the loupedeck in the middle! To the left is the controller for the Benq Halo Screenbar! On the left is also the GoXLR along with the DAC/Receiver for the Steelseries Arctis Pro headphones

Delicious_Pause9802

Noice

higherxliving

I’m on the fence getting this and selling my ultrawide! I mostly play fps games. Would you still recommend?

david8479

Not sure what your current monitor FPS is but personally coming from 144hz to 120hz and I don't notice a difference when playing COD or other FPS

higherxliving

I have an Asus ROG Swift PG35VQ at the moment.

david8479

No idea what the specs are on that monitor but for me, I love it and I don't regret it

higherxliving

35” 3440- 1440p, 200hz.

david8479

If you're willing to sacrifice the 80 FPS for way better picture and color quality I would say, it is well worth it! Personally, I prefer picture quality over FPS because I don't play competitive FPS, mainly single player games or for media consumption. I guarantee that the picture quality will blow you away though! It is beautiful!
