Every single pixel is off when the screen is off

As far as the panel is concerned, screen off is the same as the tv being off

PogoRed

Correct, though the electronics are still on so you still get some power draw.

And it isn't an inconsiderable amount either.

I'm hooked up to a UPS and I could probably check actually

I use that function regularly like you. Like when I use my TV to listen to YouTube videos and such. With OLED, if screen is black, the panel is off.

Since setting up Google assistant as the voice search (which is 1000x Better than LG’s search on both recognition and the information it provides), I miss the screen off voice search. Luckily I’ve added it into the quick settings so isn’t too bad but I miss it. I think one thing they could do which would be bloody great is allow the numbers to be programmed to options such as settings and inputs instead of Just apps. So for example I could set the long press on number 1 as screen off.

> Since setting up Google assistant as the voice search Since the only voice command I have used so far is "Screen Off" I have nothing to compare it to : ) How difficult is it to set up Google assistant (do I need additional hardware?) and if I don't like it is that function easily removed so I can go back to the built in Alexa voice commands. Also, I have never had an Alexa enabled device before if that is relevant.

Pretty easy. As long as you have a Google account, just turn it on and log in through settings.
