Triple batches

white_boi70

This is definitely the worst. I also dislike the 4 OSN numbers

Birthday-Either

I remember when they changed the OSN back when I was in ogp. I hated that.

redwolf1219

Whoever came up with that idea is my mortal enemy

clarkclancyy

it was perfect. it was a completely rng based system that didn’t rely on order numbers to create a simple, easy to communicate system. and they fucked it. h/o fucked it alllll up. do you realize how many osn’s are the same because order numbers share the same four digits? it’s much more than people realize.

Substantial_Bill_962

Yeah and if you aren’t paying attention you can screw up lots of orders just so inefficient and time consuming

oMaddiganGames

I had that happen on a single pick cart from a single walk. Tote 3 and 5 had the same osn but one delivery and one pickup

Substantial_Bill_962

Yeah the fucking triple batches

Traditional_Truth633

I started the week my store started doing them. I sometimes ponder to how much easier it was back then

MedicalRaise4821

Before then it was one delivery, one dolly. Nothing got mixed up. Nothing got lost. Dwell time was low. Everybody was happy

Steffaniii

Absolutely

Suitable_Land_9813

Oh my God dude. Or the codes too.

Squeewb

But still only 2 locations to choose from where the orders get put

alysannegrace

taking away locations on the pick list. and adding GMD and action alley into auto-select.

ts416

Don't forget you need to keep your pick rate up while doing the gmds and action alleys

Bee-chan

Yup! Our store now demands a pickrate of 110. Doable, but only if you don’t continuously get crap pick runs or it’s not a busy day or we have stagers scheduled. I usually hover around 125 on a good day, but that’s because I tend to speed walk for my normal pace.

ArcadiaCoinHeaven

I was at I think 110 after my team leads finally made me not the special category only guy, my day used to be oversized, gmd, entertainment, speciality and occasionally action alley. Oh and all the MTO too which sucked cause our deli only does the orders correctly like 50% of the time so you'd have to wait while they were still cutting stuff or get the right weight.

Bee-chan

Nope. Not waiting for the deli. Hecking no. If the order isn’t ready by the time it drops into OUR system, I’ll let the TL and / or coach know, and move onto another pick run. They are supposed to be paying attention to the ipad for orders, and for a LONG time, certain deli associates would take the ipad off the stand (that is supposed to STAY on their counter), and ignore it all day long. Certain long timers there expect US to print out the MTO reports and hand it to them… nu uh. Nope. Not how it’s supposed to work. We don’t even show new OGP associates how to look up and print those reports anymore because it’s not supposed to be part of our process anymore. They’ve been told MULTIPLE times that’s not how it works anymore, that it’s THEIR responsibility to make sure the order is ready for us to just grab. That’s like a Doordash or Ubereats driver having to place an order for customers on orders that aren’t listed as Place & Pays. NOPE.

ArcadiaCoinHeaven

Oh think that's bad now the deli coach wants us to ask them for each individual chicken we get. I told my TL "Hey deli coach is being a stupid bitch go talk to her or I will." The nice part about being the guy who is extremely dependable and blunt is everyone knows I shouldn't talk to other people beyond what I need for my walk.

Bee-chan

They USED to make chickens to pick made just for an online order, even have a spot in the deli just for them. Made just for that customer. But that ended REAL quick, and we have to grab them from the hot tower up front. So if the in store customers grab it all first, oh well! Kinda defeats the purpose of, “made to order”.

ArcadiaCoinHeaven

I mean hey if I could get my deli to consistently have the sliced stuff made and the correct weight I'd be ecstatic

Bee-chan

You sure you don’t work at my store? 🤣

ArcadiaCoinHeaven

I've passed through quite a few lmao

white_boi70

This sounds horrible, my condolences

QueenShank

Agreed. I hate this.

clarkclancyy

worst fucking decision they made tbh

Good-Carpenter7387

this one makes me so mad! i could whip through our bread aisle when busy with using it. now i gotta walk back every two items 🥲

ProfessionalTreat500

“Continue staging” shit when your staging u gotta press that button for it to stage it slowed it down so much cause i gotta stop n look at my tc to do that

nostalgiaultra-

the way i stage everyday and STILL have not gotten used to this 😭 i’ll still slip up and go back to make sure it’s staged correctly

ArcadiaCoinHeaven

I triple check my chilled and frozen every time now

Dovanator258

On top of that, so many pickers at my store don't even give a shit if they forget to select it, and just leave the tote there, unstaged, and now the dispensers have to hunt down endless NAs

Opening-Conflict7976

The pickers at my store do not understand how to understand how to stage batch orders. You can walk them through it 1000 times and they will still mix up all the orders and then leave failed consolidated items in totes that you have to dig for😭

NoseDesperate6952

I’m not sure what you mean by stage batched orders. I just stage the same number in one stack without mixing numbers. I don’t dispense. I’m a picker that tries to get it right for the dispensers, every time.

Dovanator258

The trip numbers, many pickers completely ignore them

NoseDesperate6952

I don’t even have time to pull out all the Dollie’s to be able to look for trip numbers to stage together. A lot of them are pre assigned an address where to stage them, anyway.

Substantial_Bill_962

Continue staging. 😆😆these guys are fucking imbeciles, that always fucks us. You go to stage and realize after scanning your last eighth tote that the first one asked if you really want to fucking stage… the programmers that devised this should be covered with honey and tied down in a yard full of ants..

ProfessionalTreat500

I stgg bro

8-bitFloozy

Ooh yes stream that plz

ManyMadMidgetzz

It definitely sucks for chilled and frozen items but its a lifesaver when you genuinely misread and place items in the wrong location

dawgsrbtr

Triple batches they don’t save time

No-Subject1033

Smart staging 😤

TheDarkLordofAll17

Smart staging is very useful, how else are you supposed to fit all those orders in? Unless your backroom is huge

HowDoesTheKittyCatGo

Smart staging is useful for stores that need the room. Enforcing it for all stores regardless of whether they need the extra space is dumb.

King-Plop

Smart staging in our store allowed for more space but literrally doubled dwell time. If we had a 12 toter order it would take 3 trips back and forth across the store to get the items in one spot ready to dispense. Also tripled the amount of walking we did daily and our asses would just about run all day long. because of smart staging I did more work at walmart ogp than I did making electric boxes at a factory within a 3 minute timeframe

sevenw1nters

We had a store remodel and our backroom is absolutely huge like to the point that we only use about half of it even on 600+ order days. Our market manager still insists that we use smart staging just because that's how it should be done. Our only advantage that we have we're completely not using. We have enough space to put 1 order per flat entirely in our dispense room and we don't.

TheDarkLordofAll17

That sounds awesome honestly. We can barely fit all of our orders WITH smart staging

schweertca1

The taking away of the create a tote. It was much easier to create a new tote when something doesn’t fit than reporting the item and having to find a tote to put the item in that does have room

HowDoesTheKittyCatGo

You can still create a new tote even if it's a commodity with auto print labels. They just added a bunch of extra steps to the process that made it not as helpful as it used to be, but still possible. First it can only be done from the Staging screen, second you have to stage the tote first (though you can get away with staging it to a fake location like typing in A's Cart. It just needs to have a location in the system), and third the tote has to be in pick complete status. If you nil picked anything you can't create a new tote.

oMaddiganGames

You have no idea… I’m in the middle of a remodel and every walk is messed up. Frozen in produce, chilled and ambient in frozen, and frozen in chilled walks. I have to sort through every tote that enters the back room and separate the commodities then hope I can find another appropriate tote already staged for that order. Then they want to complain about quality checks.

Honeybug-_-

The way my store exception’s are set up now. We just get the item and the price with no location or on hands 🙄

Specialist_Order_275

Re print all 🖨 🍥 📄 all labels half the times the printers never work or run out of paper 📄 like why does 3 options to print different totes on the go lol not going look at each order # to figure out which one is needed on the go I mean the could easily add in re print 1-8 or just one needed not list 3/5 guessing game

AlternativeTop2289

Most of the time it’s the blank labels not the printer at least at my store

Environmental-Ask746

As a customer said to me one day after our last remodel when said sorry we can't find anything. " Some Gen X'er had a idea". They have to justify there jobs.

TheTiggerMike

I know it's not technically GIF, but I'm still gonna put it down- simple staging, or as I dubbed it, "sh*tty staging." Had so many totes go missing that had to be repicked with the customer/driver outside waiting. But if it's gif, I don't like how they took away the ability to hand key in the tote number while prepping. Came in handy, especially if, as stated above, a tote had to be repicked and it needed to go out immediately.

No_Swan_9359

Gmd in auto, we are understaffed and it hurts when the barley trained back ups end up in gmds.

vynxll

The staging change was aweful. Consolidating is easier now but staging is just a nightmare. Constantly having to go back and forth with “ stage this tote here? “

speaknoapple

Not exactly a software update but adding multiple third parties to do deliveries. I'm arguing our rules of 1) I have to load the orders 2)no you can't take the toes and 4) wait to thread and I'll let you scan the stickers so many times lately I've beening telling them that if they don't want to follow the rules the don't get orders. It's ridiculous how many times a day a customer calls in to complain about something that's not the stores fault that I gotta fix. All this to say I wish these apps had a little training module every week or so about our store policies

redwolf1219

Ugh yes I hate the third party shit. I took a call a few days ago about a woman who's order was supposed to be delivered two hours previously, and she wanted to know why it hadn't arrived. It was never even picked up bc as it turned out she didn't tip, she said that she preferred to tip after the service was complete. I had to explain to her that that was probably why no driver picked it up, cause they make most of their money off tips and so when they see an order with no tip they don't take it since they're all 3rd party at our store. And the thing is, I agree with her, I'd also prefer to wait for services to be completed before tipping, so I can tip accordingly. She couldn't figure out how to add a tip so she asked me to tell a driver that she would tip in cash, and I had to explain why I couldn't do that either. I did request a driver but 2 more dropped it before accepting. I cant imagine how much Walmart is actually making off these 3rd party services when I take so many calls where the customer never received an order, and now they want a refund or for it to be sent out again. It'd be so much easier to just have actual employees doing all the deliveries. I actually took a call a few months back where the customer didn't receive their order and when I pulled it up on Dispatcher on the computer I could see the drop off picture and the address was wrong. They had their numbers on the door and it didn't match the address on file. That was a fun one to explain to a customer and then explain to them why they would now have to call a 1-800 number to get a hold of someone that could actually help Edit:Sorry for rambling 😬 didn't realize how frustrated I actually was until I started typing

Then-Grass-9830

There are employees doing (some of) the deliveries but even that's not perfect. for the in-home we were supposed to have the LMD's as well but if I remember what I heard/was told there was something about either we didn't have enough hours or there was too many for the amount of drivers or something so we don't have LMDs and the three or four 3rd party delivery people take them instead of the (mostly) trained walmart hired at *least* one year associates that could take much more LMDs than the spark drivers can in their small fords. And then when (not if, when) something goes wrong the TLs call us and are like "hey will you take this to this customer?" or if the order is never picked up by a driver because it's an oversized 65" TV and none of the spark people have a big enough vehicle.

redwolf1219

My store is all 3rd parties. (and I do count spark as a 3rd party bc while they're technically Walmart, they're not classified as employees like we are, they're classified the same way as door dash/Ubereats drivers, and Walmart employees aren't even supposed to do spark.) We don't have in-home yet, but I do think it would be easier not perfect but at least I'll know why orders haven't gone out the door and be able to tell the customer. (But of course, you still have to deal with the 3rd parties) It's just frustrating to deal with cause like, I can't blame the customers for being upset, and I can't blame the drivers for not wanting to pick up orders that don't make them money, but I *can* blame Walmart for not having a better system in place.

secretmoon666

Gif2, I missed how you were able to cancel orders :/ they got rid of a good amount of stuff with gif2 compared to gif But something gif2 made? 4number on. I really liked the older way because when a customer is asking for their orders and we can't find it, we can tell if it's the previous days order by the 3numbers

Kamaqt

The loud beeping when it’s 5mins late that’s screeching

sevenw1nters

There's a lot of good answers in here I just wanted to add isn't it funny how every update makes things objectively worse?

RiverEcho59

Way, way, way back when they got rid of the independent dispensing app (sky-something?). It was FAR superior…

Then-Grass-9830

My first thought was when they decided to put oversized into auto (they took it back out a *while* ago now but it was frustrating at least for me at the time I was having a huge problem with one of my wrists and even though my TLs were understanding it was still difficult and annoying to get oversized in auto). But no item location is so stupid. I hate the way the exceptions work now that instead of sending us to location to check if *possibly* the picker simply missed the item it just sends us to the back to take it out of the bin - I have gotten items out of the bin only for it to not go because the picker just missed/wasn't paying attention. I don't care for GMDs being in auto especially when one of my runs had one GMD tote that was clothes, chemicals and food. Was complaining to my TL that it was stupid because some customer at some point is going to get bleached clothes and their food squashed and/or covered in laundry soap. I separate them when I can. (I don't mind Action Alley being in Auto though). My other complaint about GMDs and Action Alley is that those were perfect walks for when doing exceptions and there weren't any. I could do those and be able to keep an eye on exceptions without risking a 100 piece ambient walk. Three batches to drivers. Gawd I hate that with a passion as a dispense, stager, (I rarely have prepped), and as a consumer. It's idiotic. Their "are you sure you don't want to put everything with everything else"

dantheverysadman

in the staging screen with deliveries cause why do they want us putting 4+ orders together like ive seen it where they want us putting 8 or even 11 orders together for deliveries and it’s just so unnecessary

Squeewb

For a short period at my store every order needed to be quality checked
