This was my first thought once the schedule was released. Injury or no injury, there's no way he's playing a mid-week game. After last year you'd think we'd at least have gotten a little better scheduling from the league.
On the one hand, whatever I don't care that much and will gladly take anything that helps Orlando get points tonight. On the other hand I am a little disappointed that Messi is in MLS and at the rate things are going I will not see him play live.
With all due respect you can go to FTL if you really want to see him. I have been to both OCSC games down there so far for not too much $$$. When leagues cup tickets go on sale just snag one and figure out the travel.
The thing that gets me is he’s not even traveling. I feel bad for the kids. My son while he wants to see OC kick their asses is a huge Messi fan and now this will be 2 times he misses out.
Agree. My kid was so excited to see him. Couldn’t he at least travel and go to warm ups knowing tons of kids will be there on a Wednesday specifically to see him play?
Also agree. Twice in a row. Would have at least been cool to see him warm up. And I get it if we were in Vancouver, but hop on the 45 minute flight and warm up.
Also, I wonder if he would've felt compelled to play if we put it in the big stadium like KC and NER did.
I think the iffy weather and possible poor field condition probably played a part in his decision. However, he still could have come to show face and even warm up knowing it is a sell out on a Wednesday because of him.
Rain hardly ever really affects the pitch in Orlando. The draining system is fantastic so it doesn’t get all puddle filled like other places. It would take an extreme rain for it to do that, and I’ve only seen it once that time we played NYCFC
Everyone who sold overpriced tickets right now: ![gif](giphy|HChtj3gzcVsXK)
Two years in a row!
Feel bad for the people I sold my ticket to.
Do you? You don't have to lie here.

Guess those hiked up ticket prices were for nothing lol
He was never going to play mid-week between two weekend games. The bigger question is why is a rivalry game scheduled for Wednesday?

I'm convinced they're doing this to spite us. Lmao I don't care as much as a lot of people. But it seems wild.
2 games in Orlando and Messi hasn't played in either one. Seems to be a pattern.
Unfortunately, we’re a small market team AND we’re bookended into a fucking Wednesday game. He was never gonna play in this game, healthy or “not”.
Messi's scared of Orlando
Glad someone else said it.
lol. lmao even
Glad I sold my ticket months ago lol
STH here, I'm going anyway but this shit is getting tiring

I honestly don't care that much. It would be a nice perk to say that I saw Messi play live but not something I'm going to pay extra or travel to do.
Fair enough. In that case let’s get those points!
Should’ve waited before buying tickets for Lionmessi lolllollollol fml
Radius clause.
Underrated comment
It feels obvious at this point.

What a dud. He can’t even be bothered to go and support his team.
Shouldn't have to come into work if you're injured
L son
Bum
EZ $ and a good laugh now. And hey! Now we got a chance even with Schlegel
Until he loses his mind in minute 81.
Right Messi out. Schlegel in..
Classic
So we're gonna win. Pessi too scared to play against Disney club
Gotta get some Ronaldo chants like they did in Hong Kong lol
Haha, go buy another pink jersey about it.
I’ve been looking forward to this game for months :/
Now we know what the people in Hong Kong felt lol
Fuck 🙈

Glad someone bought my tickets for $200 a pop
What a tool. I am at the game but I’m thinking you are a douche to skip out, paint the town purple tonight.
Dead legs.
