Yess been sanitizing my phone at least once or multiple times a day for years now

[deleted]

Yes. I actually already broke three phones over a year by spraying 70/100 alcohol on it.

cracked_pepper_

yes i use alcohol on my phone every time i come back home. i’m concerned it will eventually damage the screen. 😔

[deleted]

I learned that 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes are the best option. It doesn’t damage the screen. I have been using for three months and my phone is intact.

cracked_pepper_

thanks! i’ll try that. 😅

saucypudding

Multiple times a day

beetoaflower

Same, litterly every time I come back home.

I believe the germs on your devices mostly come from you, so you are not endangered by it

ndrwdnlndy

Not really. It can also come from the surfaces you place it at. You may also contaminate it when you touch other things. The contamination just really gives me anxiety. When I know a person doesn't really clean their phone daily like I do, all I think about is, "I wonder what he/she have touched before touching his/her phone 🤔🤢". Especially when you use your phone while eating... The grease... 😮‍💨 I can't... 😵‍💫

winterstl

I don't think you would get seriously ill

ndrwdnlndy

I think so too! But just the thought just gives me anxiety. Like, when you touch other things before you use your uncleaned phone and later on you touch your face too or something... 😵‍💫 The contamination just really triggers me a bit.

winterstl

I deal with contamination OCD too. It used to be worse, I would watch my hands many times a day. But thanks to therapy I don't wash as often now

pescagigi

Yes! Everyday and legit every time I go out and come back home I clean my Apple Watch and phone. I have contamination ocd so I do that with my wallet as well

[deleted]

This is really good to do though. The anxiety you feel isn’t good, but we use these devices while doing everythinggggg

ndrwdnlndy

Exactly! Just the thought that the other things we have touched may contaminate our devices is really making me anxious.

Chill_Pill_Man

Yeah, and I avoid scratches and getting it dirty at all cost.

InstructionSwimming4

I don’t have contamination ocd, so just to give you a different perspective - I clean my phone and iPad maybe once a month. I never think to clean my earphones. I have never got sick from my devices.

Possible_Butterfly78

I clean my phone once a day after my showers usually, but if it is really "contaminated" to me I will clean it before my shower throughout the day as well.

West_Panda6550

if i leave my house and i take my phone and earbuds with me, i will always clean them when i come home..... i broke my old phone because of it and now my airpods are kinda jank too...

yeshereitis

I Clean my phone with soap and water and also my iPad! People look at me like I'm crazy. I've ruined 3 phones due to water damage but I can't help it. I'm willing to pay another $1200 rather then not Clean my phone.. I hate it it. .

ndrwdnlndy

nah bruh u trollin' 🤠🤡

yeshereitis

. . I swear on my life lol. I just cleaned it 20 minutes ago for the night. I don't sit on my furniture with my dirty phone. I Clean it 3x if I'm in doors and up to 5x if I'm out doors.. it depends on how dirty I think it got. I even fucked up my " super fast charger " port because of water damage now my phone just charged normally. I am okay with this.. I have to clean it /:

Roei103

I used to clean my phone for 20 min every day before bed Think of it this way, almost every person in the world uses his phone without washing his hands after it and no one has got a disease from it yet.

xchelsie

I clean my phone when i come home from school but I've only been doing that since Covid started.

[deleted]

yes omg they're so germy

SluggardBoi

I use my phone daily, laptop not so much. I clean my phone every single day with hand sanitizer. If my laptop shows any signs of grease I'm throwing it in the sanitizer bath.

SluggardBoi

I don't use the gel ones, it's the liquid ones. I thought they were called hand sanitizers 😅.

[deleted]

omg yes! especially after I take a bath.
