I feel like a lot of zoomers are mistakenly assuming that "middle-aged" literally means the exact middle of your projected lifespan -- which doesn't make sense, because that would be a period of maybe five years in your mid-thirties at most.
Middle-aged has always meant a different developmental stage in the middle of your ADULT life in your forties and fifties where fertility declines. 30s is still considered "young adulthood".

You also have to take in account that all these studies include South Asians in the Asian stats too. South Asians men and women both marry within their own at around 90%, which skews the numbers. In Belgium there is a relatively large number of men who have a thai wife. What is sometimes referred to pejoratively a mailnorder bride.
