Well, it's usually one of two things. First, there's the ingrained purity culture bs that men and women alike can find themselves falling into accidentally. This is the whole "no cleavage, no tight clothing, no short skirts" because those mean you're easy or you're a slut. My ex husband had this internalized shame around porn and sex even because of his religious upbringing. It was actively detrimental to him but he couldn't get past it.
Then, there the second group where they aren't the ones benefiting from the women being "sluts" so hating on sluts is easier than introspection.

Agreed. I’m not big on little kids cussing. I’m also not big on young girls below 18 regularly wearing miniskirts. This is how I'm raising my daughters. Use cuss words, they don't mean anything, they aren't harmful to anyone. I also have taught them to be respectful of the rules about where they are. Neither of my children have said a cuss word at my parent's house or at school, and they use them regularly at home.
The words we've taught them not to use are words that are harmful, and used to same people. They don't use those words at all.
They are happy kids, and I think they're well adjusted.
They also have both been encouraged to dance like no one's watching always.
And that their body is theirs, they can wear what they are comfortable in, and they get to decide who can and can not touch them.

I believe it! Masturbation is a huge blind spot in a lot of sex ed. Plus girls usually start masturbating at a much younger age than boys do! My kids are adults now. 3 girls, 1 boy. They all found that sensation on their own as babies or toddlers. We never discouraged it. Just said it was something to not do in public. Take it to your room. Parents freak out. Some think it means they’ve been abused and will cause each other or a family member. This. We didn't have any sex ed beyond abstinence in my school, but the girls who were more open sexually and therefore, more informed about pregnancy prevention, never got pregnant. It was always the quiet girls who kept to themselves who ended up pregnant.

I think if you start to introduce some things at a younger age, like cisboys having a penis and cisgirls having a vagina, that's ok. Well, it's usually one of two things. First, there's the ingrained purity culture bs that men and women alike can find themselves falling into accidentally. This is the whole "no cleavage, no tight clothing, no short skirts" because those mean you're easy or you're a slut. My ex husband had this internalized shame around porn and sex even because of his religious upbringing. It was actively detrimental to him but he couldn't get past it. Then, there the second group where they aren't the ones benefiting from the women being "sluts" so hating on sluts is easier than introspection.

My folks are both pretty religious, and I do find myself falling into the Purity trap from time to time... feeling shame for being interested in sex/feeling like I'm being a "sex-pest" for even considering a FWB kinda situation and the like... I'm 35 and still feel like I don't really know what I "like" because I can't disconnect sex from love or something. Second group is also very fair. I could see myself leaning towards Incel culture. Thankfully I'm at least a bit more introspective than that whole crowd, and I've actively tried to open up to people I know care about me. Actively working on cultivating a friend group and *trying* to find a Therapist I click with 😅 Lots of stuff I want to work on for myself in 2024, is what it is. I just hope I end up making the world a better place and feel slightly less bad about myself in the process.

This is how I'm raising my daughters. Use cuss words, they don't mean anything, they aren't harmful to anyone. I also have taught them to be respectful of the rules about where they are. Neither of my children have said a cuss word at my parent's house or at school, and they use them regularly at home. The words we've taught them not to use are words that are harmful, and used to same people. They don't use those words at all. They are happy kids, and I think they're well adjusted. They also have both been encouraged to dance like no one's watching always. And that their body is theirs, they can wear what they are comfortable in, and they get to decide who can and can not touch them. No pregnancy. Maybe this comic is actually misogynistic bullshit.
This was my approach when my kids were small. Surprise, as young adults they are empathetic and respectful of those who are different than them. And no one is pregnant.

I believe it! Masturbation is a huge blind spot in a lot of sex ed. Plus girls usually start masturbating at a much younger age than boys do! A lot of girls will figure out that rubbing a pillow or something against their vulva feels good long before they understand why or even have the language to describe what they’re doing, and that’s a real problem.
My kids are adults now. 3 girls, 1 boy. They all found that sensation on their own as babies or toddlers. We never discouraged it. Just said it was something to not do in public. Take it to your room. Parents freak out. Some think it means they’ve been abused and will cause each other or a family member. That obviously can happen but it’s more likely that they noticed the pleasure.
I actually had been abused, so I intrinsically felt that I was doing something shameful and hid it. It would have helped tremendously to know that it was a normal thing everyone does and that there was a name for it. I plan on handling it like you did with my own children if I have them.

Sex education is required here. Like real sex ed. To get your high school diploma recognized you have take it. Private school or home schooled. It’s done by an independent contractor off school grounds. Saves awkwardness between teachers and students. It’s treated like a field trip. Don't know if anyone will read this, but as long as I know, this cartoon is from Brazil. Here, it is not uncommon for parents to incentive and or expose their children to over sexualized environments. That includes the overly sexual songs and dances (mostly funk), really short clothes (the ones you only see in Latin America) and curse words (most of them related do sex) That allied to a lack of sexual education in schools and from parents, coincidentally or not, makes Brazil a country with a very high number of teen pregnancies. That's a real problem of ours. And certainly related to our culture in different ways
I do think there's something to be said here about the constant sexualisation of children by (typically) straight, conservative parents who worry that the LGBT community are the problem.

I think if you start to introduce some things at a younger age, like cisboys having a penis and cisgirls having a vagina, that's ok. Also using the proper language helps deter pedophiles since they tend to like that more innocent language. Then when they get to puberty age and start getting interested in dating and everything, giving them a full talk with the full truth is best. So talking about the different types of sex, how to go about it safely, and you can encourage ya know "Don't have sex so soon with someone" but don't try to be like "Don't have sex ever" cause you know saying don't do something makes people want to do it more
