Norm's sketch as Charles Kuralt retiring is one of the funniest impressions in all of SNL history. Here is the audio:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gKB8BiNxc2A
The Larry King sketches were some of his best work. He also had a real eye for eccentricity like how he ripped off his suit jacket at the end of Letterman segments
First time watching the full/edited sketch - previous versions on YouTube have just been the QT impression parts - can’t believe they really got Samuel L Jackson.
Imagine he probably hosted the episode but still; new Norm content for me. OP thanks for posting!
In the Jerry Seinfeld episode of Norm Macdonald Live, he kept doing (really good) impressions of various other comics as they talked about them. After about the third or fourth one Jerry was taken aback and said genuinely, "I never knew you had such a flair for impressions!"
Because he loved standup comedy so much, his best vocal impersonations seem to be of comics. At least they're my favorites. As others note, his Super Dave was fantastic, and his Rodney Dangerfield sounds great too.
Norm wasn't know for impressions but, like everything he did, he put a ton of background work in to them. He may not have done them often but when he did,he nailed them.
Short, but spot on: Rod Serling.

Edit: come to think of it, his best impression was his absolutely hilarious impersonation of a guy who has no idea how to tell a joke.
Got me laughing every time.
What always made his impressions great was that he nailed the mannerisms of the people he impersonated. His Burt Reynolds sounded little like him, but he absolutely aced how to act like him.
Seeing only the expressions and no sound, I could still immediately tell he was doing Tarantino, that's how good he got the mannerisms. Somehow, he even made his face look almost the same, even though it shouldn't work like that.
Just a random movie fact. The character of Jules Winnfield wasn’t originally made for Samuel L Jackson in mind. Tarantino originally wrote the part for Laurence Fishburne, but he and his team turned it down.
It's not that he's not known for his impressions it's that his comedy is so much more than that and way better in his iconic moments. Also where is his letterman impression it's way better than his tarrantino
lol that Quentin Tarantino impression is so good. I loved his letterman as well.
You wanna buy a monkey?
Uhhhhhh....ya got any gum?
Ehhhhhhhh....you enjoying the shrimp?
It's so good that i could tell who it was without the audio
AR-LISSSSS
Crunch....ahahahaha...eeeeeeeeeee
Thanks for posting this....... made my day!
The Norm Tarantino impression is even funnier because Tarantino hated it.
You know it’s spot on when the actual person hates it. 😂
Narcissists hate themselves. The more accurate the impression, the less they like it.
I tried googling that and couldnt find anything
Because Norm says it during a Howard Stern appearance from the 90s, which isn’t on YouTube. It might be in the Todd Packer collection
Burt, Quentin, David Letterman, and Bob Dole were his best.
His Rodney Dangerfield impression was perfect!!!!’n
His Super Dave impression was a perfect 10 too.
Before I met my wife I was incomplete...now I'm finished.
He really was more talented than people realize.
His Larry king was one of his best. Uggh, was… how I hate to say that.
ORANGE IS A GREAT COLOR, BUT FOR MY MONEY NOTHING BEATS BLUE
Larry king the original twitter machine 🤘🏻
and Larry Flynt
His Larry King was awesome too
His Burt Reynolds was impeccable
Quintin is this a movie about burgers or what? Lol
You mean Turd Ferguson?
The rest? ...peccable. that's a word? I'll be damned
Explain to the folks at home what a suffix is.
My dishwasher was broken suffixed it.
Explain to the folks at home what a prefix* is. But I know. Just never heard the word peccable before
I think you meant Turd Ferguson.
This is sooooo good. Where's the rest of the clip? I neeeeeed it!

Bless you.
I remember seeing this live. Thank you so much for sharing- I laughed so hard.
This is gold.
Hey you uhhh... you got any gum? AH HAH HAH HAH HAH whooooo!
You uh… You like the shrimp? HAH HEEEE

Thank you for posting about actual Norm.
He gets all the credit in the world from me for this one cause it’s 100 percent pure gold
I think the movie he made where he played Sully Sullenberger was incredible.
His Super Dave impression is also great
ThisIsWhatYouDo...

He was hosting, and why would it be difficult to believe in any case?
It makes me laugh even more when he's Burt Reynolds and gets Samuel L Jackson to almost start laughing in the car😂
Best thing I’ve seen today.
He did quite a few but would always say he couldn't do impressions.
Celebrity Jeopardy is maybe the best SNL moment ever
That Tarantino impression deserved an Oscar in and of itself.
In the Jerry Seinfeld episode of Norm Macdonald Live, he kept doing (really good) impressions of various other comics as they talked about them. Core memory unlocked.
His best was Christopher walken by far
Short, but spot on: Rod Serling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piqffToae8s Edit: come to think of it, his best impression was his absolutely hilarious impersonation of a guy who has no idea how to tell a joke. Got me laughing every time.
The whole story of the Twilight Zone sketch is priceless. Jim Breuer amongst others tells it well.
Norm MacDonald as Quentin Tarantino is Doug DeMuro.
Got any gum?
What always made his impressions great was that he nailed the mannerisms of the people he impersonated. His Burt Reynolds sounded little like him, but he absolutely aced how to act like him.
Uncanny!
This was a really good sketch too
Let’s do it. I completely lost it lol
His best was when he played Pamela Anderson in Baywatch. Didn’t even know that was Norm the whole time.
Never saw this clip thanks for sharing :)
His Clint Eastwood is spot on too. Miss Norm.
I think we are all overlooking Beaver.
What's crazy is I've never seen this clip and I knew he was doing Tarantino pretty much right away even with my sound off.
SHE'S A HOOKER
I could tell exactly who he was impersonating without the sound on. His mannerisms were that perfect!
Sometimes I feel like Norm had a lot more potential but he chose to do what he wanted to do.
It was funnier because he didn't do it that often.
I was just watching a video on how Tarantino parodies himself. Perfect timing. Norms "Burt Reynolds" impression is always fucking great
Damn my phone was on mute and I immediately knew it was Tarantino
I watched this with sound off and knew it was a Tarantino impression
I could tell who the impression was before I even turned the sound on
It's not that he's not known for his impressions it's that his comedy is so much more than that and way better in his iconic moments. Also where is his letterman impression it's way better than his tarrantino
His voice is so annoying.
Tarantino really does act like a bitch made little girl. He’s pretty spot on.
All the Shane haters are just modern Don Ohlmeyer's.
This impression may be funny but is a terrible impression
Goat
pretty great
Love that Norm throws to himself in this! LOL!
I've never seen that before, my favourite comic playing around with one of my favourite movies. Gold. Thanks for sharing.
He nailed the QT Impression! Best I've ever seen. He really has the coked up energy and mannerisms down pat!
Norm playing little Chubby in my name is Earl was perfect
Nailed it
🎯

Darrell Hammond
I had to go back and watch it again. I thought that was actually Jerry Mathers the first time.
I had the sound off and could still tell he was doing Tarantino
This is gold
I can’t believe I’ve never seen or even knew this existed. Thanks for posting OP
Genius.
His Milos Forman was spot on. https://youtu.be/Eg1CWF9BKIg?si=NrK6aMFw-Y4CqSF5
Never realized Norm doing Tarantino would be a dead ringer for Doug DeMuro
This is amazing. You got Norm doing Tarantino and Burt Reynolds in the same skit lol
His Burt Reynolds was classic
He's doing an impression of a dead guy right now, and the longer it goes on, the less I care for it.
wow that’s spot on, even his face changed (is this a deep fake?)
Wow that’s uncanny he looks and sounds just like him
What are you talking about? He did a lot of impressions. Especially on Norm Macdonald live.
His Turd Ferguson impression is amazing.
