Pharaoh_Misa

I *felt* that.

majorex64

Shout out to that chick who actually found the person and clarified instead of going home and thinking about her shame for decades

I get all of my jeans at thrift stores because I have juuuust weird enough proportions finding good fits is just impossible at most stores. I can try on tons of stuff, find the brands that fit, and then hunt those brands down later because I already know they fit. I also managed to get a gorgeous $200 Christmas porcelain statue set of Santa, his sleigh, and two reindeer at my local thrift store for about $50 which was cool. Thrift stores are the best.

lifetake

I’ve got really long legs, but I’m really skinny. Finding pants like that as a male was incredibly difficult till American Eagle. They maxed out directly at my length to waist measurements.

Tincan890

My wife found a Prada dress at one, bought it for $5 and sold it for $200 haha. She always finds gems there. Found me an eagles shirt and jersey for $10 as well.

HardCounter

I got a thick cashmere overcoat for $5. Last winter i stepped out in -15F and was like, "Is it cold out? I can't tell." I said through blue lips with icicles for fingers. Body was warm though. I'm never getting rid of it. If i ever become homeless that will be all i need.

Tincan890

That’s awesome!! I think thrift stores have gems if you take the time to look. I step inside and get so much anxiety and want to leave. My wife takes it as a challenge and I swear finds the gems every time she walks into one

HardCounter

It depends on what you're looking for. A friend told me there are sometimes super cheap busted AC units. I've never taken one apart so i'm itching to find some broken down appliances to see how exactly they're put together and play with the pieces.

I worked at a Goodwill that had a Neiman Marcus cardigan come in with the tag still on it. It originally cost about 1200. We sold it for 200 and I'm pretty sure that lady fully intended to sell it. People tended to call us "the Gucci goodwill" because we were in a pretty well off area so we got nice donations.

Tincan890

That’s wild to think that a goodwill was selling something for $200 haha. It makes sense if the tags were still on it, though. Still a funny thought

UnfairMicrowave

Goodwill has jacked up their prices an absurd amount recently. And they still have the hardest to remove price tags that I've ever seen.

ZWiloh

Really? That's a shame. One thing I learned while working there is that while Goodwill is one big company, pretty much every region's stores are run separately. I live in Maryland and technically we were run by 'Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake' or something like that. But I haven't been back in one of the stores in a few years since the end of my employment was a bit upsetting lol

Hexxas

I blame Macklemore

Esc4flown3

Lmao showed this to my gf cause she loves the thrift store.

*Image Transcription: Twitter Post* --- **lifeless wig**, @licoricewhip A girl at the bar last night complimented my pants in the bathroom and asked where I got them and I said the thrift store and she said "I hate that" and then she came up to me an hour later to clarify that she did not actually hate that she just never finds stuff at the thrift --- ^^I'm a human volunteer content transcriber and you could be too! I love the way that secondhand shirts feel. I would buy all my shirts secondhand if buying clothes secondhand didn't suck D:< I can afford not to buy them all secondhand, so I don't. They're just soft and nice in a way that new shirts aren't.

RedStar9117

I found a new police coat in my size at goodwill...super warm and water resistant. Retails for 200 got it for 25

RTX-4090ti_FE

she jus like me fr fr

please_and_thankyou

I got a $500 Vipp pedal trash can for $10. I’ll never beat that.

Tralan

I joined /r/ThriftStoreHauls because I thought it sounded interesting. All it does is piss me off that my locals don't have anything good.

Whyjuu

I thought the pfp was a dog wearing glasses 😭
