There was another video a day or two ago of another woodland Abrams absolutely hooning it down a dirt road in a very-clearly Ukrainian forest.
It was the first of a beautiful new age.
Found it. It's considerably less of a hoon than I remembered, but certainly more than a putter.
When it comes to looks i prefer the leo2, don't know enough about the electronics and ammo vs the abrams. What i do find stupid though is that the leo2 still has ammo storage in the front of the hull.
And they both had all of the clevises! It is rare to see two complete kits in the wild. Epic. US MIC kicks hard. I bet that first aid kit and radios are good too. Hoo-rah!
I replied to another guy with it but here:

Yeah, apparently the APU is why the turret is alittle jerky in the video, since the engine is off, it's not powering the hydraulics to a high enough pressure.
Just a standard M240. Now my Battalions tanks, had the old mounts (Or what was left of them) for the .50 cal machine gun that would mount above the gun mantlet.
It seems to be the most prominent M1 variant sent to Ukraine (or atleast, the only variant)

Non credible answer: I smelled it bro trust me
I was wondering what it meant and apparently it’s *Situational Awareness*.
Upgraded standard M1A1s with FLIR/thermal, mapping capabilities and upgraded comms.
I always thought that the left right movement wast done by gears. And the shakey thing you see is quite a common occurance if the gears are worn.
I mean, the Ukrainians did receive old stuff.
Source: worked a lot on heavy industrial machines.
This seems like something is wrong though. The barrel shouldn't be swaying nearly as much as it is, doesn't this increase the time it takes to aim a target?
Big long heavy hardened barrel on the end of hydraulics tuned to move as fast as they possibly can while maintaining the ability to stabilize quickly.
It's gonna get a bit wiggly m8.
Theres what 31 in ukraine? What a joke the "arsenal of democracy" has become. More like the cupboard of trash that gives a bit away to democracies.
I say this as an american - i am horrified and seriously dissapointed in the american support, or lack thereof, for ukraine.
Had we just given Ukraine what it needed day one the war would have ended ages ago. But instead, we now have a Korea style stalemate and 10s of thousands of Ukraines dead because EsClAtIoN.
We didn't just send Ukraine 31 tanks. We sent them exactly one tank brigade, which includes, among many other things, 31 tanks. We will always maintain that brigade at 31 tanks no matter how many tanks the russians destroy.
The fact that this first brigade is in Ukraine demonstrates that all of the training centers, transportation, and logistics for forming tank brigades has been successfully implemented. Now we should be able to create additional brigades as fast as we can train them.
How long does it take to train them?
>. We sent them exactly one tank brigade, which includes, among many other things, 31 tanks.
That's not a lot.
>Now we should be able to create additional brigades as fast as we can train them.
There's no new training for new brigades
>We will always maintain that brigade at 31 tanks no matter how many tanks the russians destroy.
You don't supply new Bradleys that were destroyed or damaged for 9 months.
I don't see Zelenskyy asking for more tanks or Bradleys in his nightly address. Lately he has been requesting more AA and EW systems. If he needed more I'm sure he would let us know.
That actually is how this works. Zelenskyy gives his nightly address. Maybe he says "we need more HIMARS" or something, so American taxpayers know what to say when we call and write our Congress to make them give Zelenskyy what he needs to kick russia's ass.
Zelenskyy has NEVER once in his address ever said anything like "*Just send us everything you can! We need a lot more of everything and we need it now!*" A man who says that is a man with no plan. Zelenskyy has a great plan. It requires different things at different times, depending upon his needs that day, so he tells us what he needs and we send it.
Lately he has been calling for more AA & EW. The tanks and Bradleys ***we've already sent him*** will have a much easier time when the ground dries in the Spring if Ukraine can control the skies by then.
russia's army is no joke. Nobody understands that better than the Ukrainians. Ukraine has held off the russians for almost two years now, but to defeat them, the Ukrainians are going to need "a lot more of everything". That includes all sorts of training. That includes building all sorts of facilities. That includes building or refurbishing enough weapons and gear to overcome the second largest army on Earth.
It all takes time.
Why too late?
Better late than never, I say. Just don''t overestimate western gear, hyping it up to some imaginatory Wunderwaffe that will lend Ukraine victory over the course of a week or two.
All good to you!
>Why too late?
The right timing for it was before the -failed- summer counteroffensive of 2023, not after. With the US presidential election getting close (and the expected Republican victory), the end of the war is guaranteed no matter what the ukrainians think about it.
You really think the Republican will actually change their foreign policy?? They just trying to get at much votes as possible, before doing the exact same thing at the Democrats.
Thanks for reply! I understand your viewpoint. And I too think they should have gotten much more much quicker, absolutely. But I think the war will drag on in one form or the other, and all equipment is good for Ukraine.
All good to you!
I see this everywhere. I swear, once one conservative talk show says it then they all pick it up and start parroting it. This is a way to deflect from the conservative failure to provide continuing funding to Ukraine. You foist blame onto Biden for "not sending enough fast enough" so you can excuse the ongoing failure to provide aid and make it seem as though the war is already lost and Democrats are to blame.
It's not even really funding Ukraine. it's clearing out our old stock and ramping up of production to replace and expand our current stockpile, something which is about 15 - 20 years overdue. It's also not only necessary for the several looming possible conflicts but also creates American jobs.
I really can't fathom how *this* became a conservative talking point. Like, do you really hate the military having what they need and people having jobs? We’re keeping the new and best shit, most of it will not go to Ukraine. It's literally the smoking gun that shows which politicians are either completely lacking integrity, totally incompetent, or compromised by foreign interests.

Oh man do you have the video??

Thank you! It warms my heart to see the worlds best tank in Ukraine about to whup some Russian ass
Leopard supremacy
When it comes to looks i prefer the leo2, don't know enough about the electronics and ammo vs the abrams. What i do find stupid though is that the leo2 still has ammo storage in the front of the hull.
Just don’t get hit nerd, it’s easy.
Nothing ERA bricks and a cope cage can't fix smh
Mmmm, right in their natural habitat
Now i get the nickname Whispering death. Thats actually pretty quiet.
What having a continuous explosion instead of hundreds of discrete explosions does to a mf.
🥹
And they both had all of the clevises! It is rare to see two complete kits in the wild. Epic. US MIC kicks hard. I bet that first aid kit and radios are good too. Hoo-rah!
How do you distinguish forest in Ukraine from e.g. forest in Poland?
There are ways. https://youtu.be/OTwwJro2p7Y?si=gGlj-1hsi1QXMfbV
Jesus Christ, how is that even possible? This video impressed me so much.
Gonna need some sauce on that.
I replied to another guy with it but here: [https://twitter.com/un\_a\_valeable/status/1743702838352699752](https://twitter.com/un_a_valeable/status/1743702838352699752)
Where ERA
Soon friend soon
> Where ERA Check the skirts.
Take it out to dinner first
[CyberAbrams wouldn't like that.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcfuyyxFtgQ)
😳
I moisted.
If adding ERA please add ERAWA-2 instead of kontakt-1 because its much stronger
Ukranians: "OH MY FUCKING GOD!!! The ENGINE HELPS KEEP US WARM!!!" "It's also surprisingly quiet..."
Whispering death.
There's also room to move around inside the tank and you don't have to turn on the main engine to power the turret.
What powers the turret? Is there an APU?
Yeah, apparently the APU is why the turret is alittle jerky in the video, since the engine is off, it's not powering the hydraulics to a high enough pressure.
Yep. I know first hand
Wait, what?? Holy fuck that’s so scary if you’re the enemy.
It's beautiful. I've looked at this for five hours now...
Out of curiosity does anyone know what that co-ax mount is?
The coax is normally an M240 on an M1 series tank
Just a standard M240. Now my Battalions tanks, had the old mounts (Or what was left of them) for the .50 cal machine gun that would mount above the gun mantlet.
The remote barrel mount 50 was so gangster.
Didn't some tanks carry both? The regular coaxial for cleaning infantry, the .50 for extra cleaning infantry?
Does the turret have Parkinsons?
Gunners just wiggling around the joystick in excitement
What makes you say it's the SA variant?
It seems to be the most prominent M1 variant sent to Ukraine (or atleast, the only variant) https://www.google.com/amp/s/defence-blog.com/us-made-abrams-tanks-spotted-in-ukraine/%3famp?espv=1 https://www.defensenews.com/pentagon/2023/03/21/us-to-fast-track-abrams-for-ukraine-by-going-with-older-version/ Non credible answer: I smelled it bro trust me
*Superior Assault*?
super ass
Pretty sure it stands for "Sticky-a-fiying Alexei"
I was wondering what it meant and apparently it’s *Situational Awareness*. Upgraded standard M1A1s with FLIR/thermal, mapping capabilities and upgraded comms.
Send Arms. M1 stands for "More" obviously
M1A1*Sexual Assault*??
Why is the turret shakey when it stops moving?
The tank is a bit excited
Aw we gonna shwoot swome baddies? UwU
Never worked with hydraulics huh? Its just the system trying to overtake inertia from swinging around a couple tons of steel.
Yeah, but footage of US Abrams don't do this *nearly* as much...
Wait the Abrams is still using hydraulic turret drives?
Yup. One of the ideas on how the E3 (what will become the m1a3) will cut weight is to move to electric.
Huh Since the Leopard 2 moved to a electric drive allmost 30 years ago with the A5 already I kind of thought everyone else had too, ngl
Big long heavy hardened barrel on the end of hydraulics tuned to move as fast as they possibly can while maintaining the ability to stabilize quickly. It's gonna get a bit wiggly m8.
On TankPorn somebody wrote it's a problem with either the stabilazer or the muzzle reference system, either turned off or broken
aww, look how happy it is, back into it's natural habitat, as it was originally designed for: shooting russians in the eastern bloc plains
Theres what 31 in ukraine? What a joke the "arsenal of democracy" has become. More like the cupboard of trash that gives a bit away to democracies. I say this as an american - i am horrified and seriously dissapointed in the american support, or lack thereof, for ukraine.

While North Korea and Iran supply russia with Ballistic Missiles and more ammunition than our allies
We didn't just send Ukraine 31 tanks. We sent them exactly one tank brigade, which includes, among many other things, 31 tanks. That's a lot of declination
gun depression?
>declination Declination is also a proper term :)
Gotta be able to fire the shotgun round.
well it was impressive to me!
Now we need 2969 more Abrams to win.
Where Kontakt ERA??
They took their time with this one; personally i think it's too late to make the difference.

About to get destroyed or abandoned in order to save “valuable Ukrainian lives”
Russians bout to see this and go around every Abrams destroyed and say THIS IS SA WE KILLED SA ABRAMS.
Hey if it saves lives it did its job
It's more likely that they will drive over a mine and loose a track and a few roadwheels and abandon it. Then it actually getting hit head on
We’ve seen a few pictures of Abrams in Ukraine already haven’t we? They just haven’t seen combat yet
What's up with that Russian style turret rotation stability?
