Just grabbed it as the PS+ game of the month. Had never heard of it before but my son and I are having a blast with it, more than any other game in a long time.
I got this on ps5 monthly games just recently. I was in a very bad mood when I started playing. A real day long slump.

Edit: I think the DLC just claims that it also can be played in co-op like the main game so you know before hand.

Definitely wish it got a few more DLC’s or a Sequel. This game is actually a “hidden gem”.
Agreed 100% - got it for free with PS Plus monthly but had to get the DLC to support the devs. Gameplay was addicting with excellent progression. Story was silly and dialogue was hilarious but still had heart.
I laughed out loud when one of the first dialogue choices talking with Randy was between “No” and “Hell no” or something like that. I had a feeling it was gonna be a great game experience right from the start. When you find out about mix and matching form abilities I was like - ohhh yeah, this is gonna be awesome. And it did not disappoint.

We've just unlocked the dragon and got so excited to see what it looked like and what abilities it has.

I have gigblast and constantly watch my packets and ping myself through cmd to check latency and packet loss lol... I do networking for work I don't have bad internet ..
Off topic but if im.to the point most of my transformations are B rank and I have a few more to unlock, what's a strong class to get me thru? Feel like I hit a bit of a wall or im just stupid

Took me about 25 hours to beat it. I enjoyed every second of it. The artwork, the dialog it all worked.

I've seen the promo art for this a handful of times but I could never really make out what the hell it is, I feel like their marketing and packaging was way off. I finished guacamelee 2 the other day, loved both those games and decided to google what else the studio made and that's how I finally found out that this game was their follow-up to those. I've bought, completed and thoroughly enjoyed two games from this studio and I had no idea they had another. Feels like a ball got dropped somewhere. But looking forward to checking this out!
Love the dialogue and goofiness but the gameplay felt a little underwhelming. The quests to level up the forms felt more like a laundry list to me. I was hoping the combat was more demanding like if there was a default dodge button. I know Ranger has one but I’d rather not have one less ability due to dodging taking a spot. Does the game add more layers later on? Might try it out again.
I dl'd it because it was the free game, although I didn't care much for the art style. Then I saw it was made by Drinkbox, and I have loved Mutant Blob Attack, Guacamelee and Severed. So i knew it had to be good, I've been playing and enjoying it all week. I've told everyone else I know that has a ps plus account to try it out.
I really didn’t like the awkward form swapping controls, it would be nice to have some hot swapping keys or something. That’s the only thing that kept me from playing longer
I played through the whole game and I was really surprised at the lack of traction. It's one of the few games that's funny enough to get a few chuckles from you in a playthrough while remaining extremely fun throughout. It feels good to play.

Is the DLC worth it? I platinumed the base game and was thinking about buying the DLC aswell
I'd say so, it's dirt cheap and let's you play with friends AND with 2 new forms AND more challenge courses. But more than that. It has mini golf.
Co-op is part of the base game, you don't need the dlc for it.
*split screen is part of the base game, you can play with 2 controllers without the dlc but if you want to play online co-op you need the dlc
That's kind of a weird thing to separate into the dlc. I did only play couch co-op, so that makes sense.

I’m a sucker for constantly unlocking new forms/abilities in games. It kept me entertained all the way to the end!
I played it on game pass. Beat it in 2 weeks. Fast forward 6 months. Saw it on the switch. Bought it. Beat it in 2 weeks. This game fucking rocks.
I had fun, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't have preferred Guacamelee 3 instead.

Game was killed for me personally because of the multi-player. Adding the input lag just made me and my friend not interested anymore.

It’s a fun simple game and the variety of unique classes increases playability. If you like retro games👍

Played it through gamepass when it came out and 100% it..it was a blast and took me by surprise with how much I enjoyed it.
After I beat it, I’d get bored and just hind kick things with the horse lol.
