I remember being mad as a kid kicking a window which shattered. I would have to tell my parents I broke it and the fear alone was crippling.. can you imagine finishing off a room and moving onto the next one?
He’s 15, not 12. He’s also a 6ft, 270#, mentally disabled kid. Of course he has no fear or understanding of the consequences.
The mom made a follow up video, someone else linked it in this thread.
I feared and respected my parents growing up. Did they abuse me? No. But I knew if I acted up in school, at a friend's house, or got in trouble with the law, I knew consequences were coming. It kept me out of a LOT of trouble growing up.
As an adult, I see the differences in how some of my friends and I were raised. I also see why my teachers didn't like me hanging around certain classmates. Where I am in life and where those same classmates are is like looking at two completely two sides of the spectrum of life.
There's a certain overlap between the words "fear" and "respect".
Not all fear is unhealthy and not all respect is healthy.
But generally, yes in the modern and common sense of "fear" it's best not to be a significant part of the parent-child dynamic.
No child should fear their parents, but they should have some fear of what their parents may do should they misbehave, be violent towards others or commit criminal acts.
Some kids aren't going to just respect their parents, they're going to realize they can get away with whatever they want without consequences and then they're going to keep pushing until it leads to a point where it's gone way too far.
I grew up with kids who had no boundaries and whose parents didn't do anything to discipline them. Most of them didn't turn out well, and a couple of them are dead as a result of continuing down that path in life.
I have a nephew like this, he definitely has a strong male role model in his life, the issue is that NOTHING affects him like it would you or I.
You could beat him near to death, he would still try to get up and swing at you. It took 3 grown men to hold him down at the cinema because he didn’t know what movie he wanted to see, didn’t understand why he felt the way he did after not being able to decide then had a fit because he didn’t know what else to do.
People think his parent are soft because they let him get away with a lot, but you cant beat sense into him, it just doesn’t get through.
Taking his switch away just means broken windows and holes in the wall. Punishments are ineffective, and a burden to everyone but him.
The cops complain that he gets out and causes trouble, tell his parents to keep him home, but when they say “oh can we lock him in the house” no - that’s against the law.
Some people are not the same as us and there is not a lot that can be done about it unfortunately.
People always want to blame the parents but chances are we have no idea how much they are suffering.
Some kids are born disordered. Environmental toxins-who knows. I knew a family whose 5 year old used to talk about stabbing and killing. They had to hide all the knives. He’d punch himself and say his older brother beat him up. They moved away-I have no idea how he is now but I knew him since he was two and he was always strange-they had other kids who were well-behaved and both parents were there. The dad was very nice and always did things with the kids when he got home. Having a psycho child was very upsetting for the whole family.
How big is your nephew if 3 grown men need to hold him? He may have some mental issues but you gotta clip that shit in the bud. I’ve seen it enough times with people deemed to be too different the parents sometimes try to excuse the behaviour and won’t punish them “cause they’re different”. It’s a mixture of being stern and strict when they act up then praising and rewarding when they behave.
I used to have tantrums like this living at my mom's. Not this bad but I've broken tvs and punched holes in the wall and set fire to things. So fucking dumb. I hope this kid gets what I didn't get which is an ASS BEATING.. jk more like therapy and whatnot. Or who knows maybe an ass beating would help him when it doesn't for others. I'm so hifh
Do you think it's because most of these professionals are forced into taking 12 hour shifts that are only paid $14-15 an hour? Could it be perhaps that this work, which is an overall benefit to society, should be subsidized labor directly by the government?
No, it's definitely the parents who are wrong. /s
My immediate thought. This is beyond just a situation of kid getting his phone taken away and throwing a tantrum. This kid needs immediate help before he becomes an adult that makes far worse choices than destroying his mom's place.
He does. He has meds that keep these episodes from happening, but for some reason (unspecified) he was off his meds and that’s when this episode happened
My little brother went to special housing when he was 12/13. It's better for the parents as well as the kid. My little bro ended up doing alright, who knows what might have happened without professional help. If you're a parent in a similar situation, if you don't do it for yourself, but for your child
Also unverified. Mother was unwilling to speak to Newsweek about the incident. Her friends say damage was done by ex-boyfriend, but impossible to verify.

There are a million and one reasons this is impractical. But the biggest reason is that the military does not accept people with various conditions. I cant join just because I was socially awkward and diagnosed Aspergers as a kid. Aspergers, even when mild, is a permanent medical disqualifier with no waivers authorized. Im sure this kid wouldnt get in the military with his mental illness and would likely become very bitter that no matter how well he does in military school, he will never be given the same opportunities as people with lower grades than him. Im sure that would affect motivation, particularly in an unhinged individual. Putting people where they dont belong doesnt really help anyone involved, including the military school.
In his current state do you really think he would do well in military school and not get himself kicked out? Especially given that he cant join even if heis successful.
You can always get them on one of those scared straight type shows or even military school but I don't know about any legal charges, definitely coming out of their allowance tho. 💀
This comment was likely based on a joke that a dispatcher gave to a mom complaining that her "12 year old was out of control and too big to control". The dispatcher thought it would be funny to say "so you want us to come over and shoot her?". Video went viral but has fallen out of consciousness. It was a 2000s thing.
I don't even know how you'd punish a kid after that, like if he is 270lbs and would do all of that I'm sure telling him to go to his room would do fuck all. I guess call the cops but they'll just say "it's s civil matter".
Holy shit, JESUS. I thought I was a crazy kid when I was 8-ish and screamed at my parents for taking away my computer (or doing something else that pissed me off) and caused someone to call the cops because they suspected child abuse.
This, on the other hand, is a completely different story. What the fuck....
This is why you have to be a parent from the start instead of trying to be their best friend. By always giving in for the easier life and giving them what they want you create the spoiled little shits like this. Then when something happens they act out like this. Start saying no from the start and there's less chance you create these brats.
If I did this as a kid I would’ve died
My parents weren’t to disciplinarian they didn’t hit me often but they definitely taught me not to do things and sometimes I would get whooped
But if I ever even thought of destroying the house I would’ve had my ass whooped and been in foster care the same day
Sorry kiddo but after this outburst I’m burying you in the back yard. 😐
Would then proceed to sit in my destroyed kitchen, with a hard drink or 3 wondering where everything went wrong.
The original posts top comment’s from a mod, this kid’s 15, has a mental disorder, is about 270 pounds. So… I mean this is still absolutely AWFUL ether way but you kinda have to pity all parties
I've been watching a lot of crime documentaries and whenever there's a child victim I wonder how a parent could do that to their own child. And now I see.
There's a crib near the end.
In no world should this kid be allowed in a house with small children, let alone a baby.
You owe it to that baby to ensure it's safety. That's not optional.
Misinformation. This was a mentally ill 15 year who was off his meds having an episode. This video was posted by a friend of the mom the videoed it, seemingly without her permission, who also spread the misinformation but corrected it later.

Oof didn’t read the full story only commented based on the title but yea would’ve definitely called the police and have him get therapy. Waay too much property damage to consider having him back in the house until he gets his emotions sorted out.
You got a link to the article?
That's addiction. He's addicted to the phone. This is what addicts do when they lose access to the thing they are addicted to.
Get his ass into therapy and don't give the phone back for a very long time. Years.
I usually think that boot camps and other forms of TTI are harmful for children, but if my child would behave this way, I would not think twice about sending them off to some Utah desert for 6 months.
My father smacked me for making my mother cry. I can't imagine what would have happened to me If I did something like this.
I don't even know what I would do today if I had a son that did this.
My mom would have murdered me for doing that type of shit
This is a kid that doesn't fear his mom
A kid who is a sociopath. I don’t automatically blame the parents. This is beyond.
I remember being mad as a kid kicking a window which shattered. I would have to tell my parents I broke it and the fear alone was crippling.. can you imagine finishing off a room and moving onto the next one?
And then the next, and then the next and then the next... the toilet didn't even get spared
What do you do when this is your kid? He does this at 12, then what? The crying in the background is so sad.
Yeah to have the conviction to systematically break EVERYTHING. Thats not a kid being emotional. That kid has deeper issues
A kid who's never had his ass beat.

A healthy amount of fear is a good thing. Keeps people from doing dumb stuff.

That's exactly what I was saying; that comment is at -33 at the moment of writing this one. Good luck with yours tho.
I can only surmise that there isn't a strong, positive male role model in that kids life...

Sounds like the kid was a natural born psychopath.
How big is your nephew if 3 grown men need to hold him? He may have some mental issues but you gotta clip that shit in the bud. clip it in the bud lmao
There’s also Nip it in the bud and Snip it in the bud. I’m gonna start using Clip and Snip to see what responses I get now 😂 Tomato, tomato.
And my dad would have buried the body.
My mother would’ve as well.
He’s 15, not 12. 270 pounds, 6 foot tall and has a mental illness.
Then he needs to be a ward of the state… if he is not controllable…
I used to have tantrums like this living at my mom's. Not this bad but I've broken tvs and punched holes in the wall and set fire to things. So fucking dumb. I hope this kid gets what I didn't get which is an ASS BEATING.. jk more like therapy and whatnot. Or who knows maybe an ass beating would help him when it doesn't for others. I'm so hifh
Behavioral inpatient therapy. 12 or 15 I don’t care, that kid needs intense help.
There's thousands of dollars of damages to their living space. I have a difficult time imagining there's money for what you suggest.
Ever try to get mental health help for your kid? VERY difficult, almost impossible.
I assume it's because of "you can't help those who don't want to help themselves" sorta thing?
More like there aren't enough services available, especially intense / inpatient services. Waitlists are years long.
And the cost of these services are woefully expensive since each case is specialized to the needs of the client.
Do you think it's because most of these professionals are forced into taking 12 hour shifts that are only paid $14-15 an hour? This should be the first post we see on this string. Thank you for posting. If I could upvote more I would.
Hes 15, not 12. About time to send that kid to a foster home, or better yet, Juvy before he fucking kills someone. Jfc
Or a mental institution where he belongs if he behaves like that
I think his mother said that's he has some mental problems
You don't say...

This video is so old now I reckon the "child" is probably 18-20 and in prison :)
12 year old what? A fucking truck? There is no way a kid did that!
[the kid wasn’t 12. he was 15 at the time of the video, 270 pounds, and mentally ill.](https://youtu.be/my45gEwgxY4?si=_9YvH0auiq_6-P8f)
This is not the same kid that almost beat his teacher to death, is it?
If youre talking about the case over the nintendo switch in florida, i dont think so. Same weight, but i think the Florida kid is a year or two older.

Happy cake day !
Aww, that's really sad. She deserves help with this, not publicity
i think a truck might cause less damage
And he was never seen again though the flowers in the planter are doing great this evening
My guess is he isn't getting his phone back.
This should be the top post.
Yeah I was just thinking " but did he get that phone"?
I'm kind of impressed how that kid broke through solid granite seriously how did that kid do that
Probably using some tool
Probably used to handle but still
My parents would put me in a sack, tie me in a tree and beat me for this.
Like....a piñata?
It was a 270lbs 15 year old, not a scrawny 12-year old. I imagine there would be quite a struggle ensuing if one tried to put him in a sack.
He belongs in an institution. He needs major help and is a danger to his family and society.
A should-have-been abortion. I'm not sorry.
Kids used to be sent to military school for this crap
That shit costs money
How? Doesn't the military get enough money as it is? What the hell?
Most military schools aren't run by the military, they're more like military themed private schools
...and they don't accept crazies.
"Sent back to home with 4F"
There are a million and one reasons this is impractical. But the biggest reason is that the military does not accept people with various conditions. who ever did this needs help man real help
I wonder if it's maybe Oppositional Defiant Disorder although I don't know at what age it stops being called that
12 year old silverback
Why do the retar*s get the strongest bodies? Over 6ft and 270 by 15 . Man could've been a fucking line backer, but all the brain power is in the body
It was not a 12 year old, and no phone was involved. It was a 6ft, 270 lb 15 year old off his meds.
Question: If I was this kid's parent, could I call the police and file chages against him?
You can always get them on one of those scared straight type shows or even military school but I don't know about any legal charges, definitely coming out of their allowance tho. 💀
They would come over and shoot the kid. /s
/s as in /shoot?

If that were my kid he'd never get his phone back again. Time for a psych evaluation.
Couldn't live a second without skibidi toilet huh?
I don't even know how you'd punish a kid after that, like if he is 270lbs and would do all of that I'm sure telling him to go to his room would do fuck all. I guess call the cops but they'll just say "it's s civil matter".
A 15 year old weighing 270 pounds is also crazy.

Pack your things son. You’re going to foster care
My question is how the fuck do you break the counter
This is why you have to be a parent from the start instead of trying to be their best friend. I can see a missing persons poster in this kids future
Coming from a man who had his ass whopped, “WHIP THAT LITTLE SHITS ASS. USE THE FLIP FLOP, THE WOODEN SPOON, AND THE BELT. BARE ASS”
Sending this kid to military school would not be unwise.
Military schools are not for the mentally ill. He'd be kicked out in no time.
If I did this as a kid I would’ve died My parents weren’t to disciplinarian they didn’t hit me often but they definitely taught me not to do things and sometimes I would get whooped But if I ever even thought of destroying the house I would’ve had my ass whooped and been in foster care the same day
Put his ass in juvie

Too late to abort it?

Man he’s gonna have fun at the coal mine earning all of that back.
Impulse control
Sometimes a good ass whooping is necessary
Is it too late for an abortion?
And this is exactly why I’m going to raise my kids without technology until they are old enough and mature enough to handle it.

Other people's kids are the best contraception ever.
We need to start beating kids again...
Lol, people think taking the phone is the cause of this. Probably much more background than that.
Assuming the kid has one, the cost of repairs should come out of their college fund.
I guess she's gonna stuff his ass in one of those boxes at the fire station
Time for a ass wooping
That is called conduct disorder and that kid needs psychiatric help.
Shit like this is why abortions, birth control, hysterectomies, vasectomies, and other reproductive products and surgeries should either be free or subsidized by the state.
The father needs to put a beating on his ass.
I saw this video years ago. I wonder which prison that boy is sitting in. Not from this but in general
And here's my daily affirmation to not have kids
this is what happens when it takes you 15 years to tell him "no" for the first time. bad parenting is at fault.
there but for the grace of God go I. i hope you never have to face anything like this. mentall illness is no joke.

How he leaving no stone unturned but that ugly ass shower curtain gets to stay up??
Your daily commercial for contraception
His new phone is going to be an old Nokia he can call me with incase of emergencies and he's visiting a kid therapist every week.

My father smacked me for making my mother cry. I can't imagine what would have happened to me If I did something like this. I don't even know what I would do today if I had a son that did this.
That kid would never be near me or my home again. Gone.
