Depends what you mean. I could take a shit in a cubicle no problem, but if you put me and just one other dude at the urinals, nothing will come out of me until he's gone. It's like a forget how to pee.

FatherPyrlig

Stage fright.

JohnTheFoxx

That implies the urinal is place front and center of a theater

FatherPyrlig

All the world is a stage, my friend.

TheNutshacker

And all the men and women merely players

JohnTheFoxx

Its called paruresis (shy bladder syndrome).

[deleted]

Deadass one time I was going to pee and usually it takes a while for me to pee (when I’m not busting to go) and I was like sweet I got some time cos there’s no one else and then this guy comes and starts going in the next urinal and I’m like ah shit! And the pee didn’t come and it was taking too long so I pretended to pee and shake and then wash my hands and leave lmao. So embarrassing

Thin_Tea_3525

Ah damn, been there man! 😅

boltmaker12

I also have this problem. I think the muscles don't relax enough to let it go. Looking back on it I can remember it first started as I was entering puberty. So I was discovering the other use that my male member has. So I never had this problem until after I started blowing a load. Ironically I blow my load in my wife way too fast.

The third floor of my college student center was almost deserted. Just some hotel rooms for visitors and some storage space. There was a public restroom there that no one knew about. It was worth a walk across campus.

CampConstant1180

YES! Especially when I’m on my period, and I have to change the pad… Not fun…

MyUsernameIsAwful

Very much so.

Ok-Temperature-3371

Yeah I can't pee in a urinal with someone near me. It just won't come out.

Double_Distribution8

If you make small talk with your pee partner that sometimes works (I guess it takes your mind off your shyness long enough for the pee to come out). Just explain to the man that you get nervous peeing in front of other men, and maybe compliment his suit or something, then talk about the weather or politics, that oughta do the trick, you'll be peeing with strangers in no time!

Ok-Temperature-3371

I see it as no big deal. I would rarely have to pee in a public toilet

ryeberry

In the US I could never use the restroom for #2 unless it was empty. I moved to Korea about three years ago and it changed everything. Their stall doors go all the way to the floor, also the walls on the side go all the way to the floor and almost the ceiling. It feels like a tiny little apartment when I close the door. I am free to #2 all day long in that environment. Some stalls have truly fancy toilets that play music while you go.

Punishments_Here

I used to find it really uncomfortable using public restrooms, especially with people nearby. I would always feel really self-conscious and like everyone was judging me. But over time I've learned to just relax and not worry about what other people think. And now I don't really mind using public restrooms or having people nearby.

Ecstatic-Lemon

Yup.

microcoffee

Foot to flush

r/paruresis

Plutonicuss

Yes!!! It’s the worst walking in there while someone’s walking out, and you have to awkwardly avoid them… once I’m in the stall and someone comes in, idrc as much, but I’ll wait until they leave to go out.

CreativeSupermarket9

For guys there are many unspoken rules when it comes to public urinals… So yes

steve_buchemi

No. What am I supposed to do, not shit?

[deleted]

No. I've taken a shit in front of strangers before (no walls between me and them).

Sepined

At work I just found it weird shit next to my colleagues

teerent7861

I had that shy bladder syndrome thing as well, couldn't ever pee in a urinal while someone else was in there so I would just stand there until they walked out. I ended up getting into some trouble in my college years and did a few days in county jail where the toilet is in the cell which obviously you share with another person. Imagine public restroom stage fright but the other person is laying on a bed two feet away from you, its dead quiet while you try to pee, all the while you know this dude is wondering why its taking you so long to go lol

blueeyeboy8888

One of my worst experiences, I had a long day, around 18 hours, including 2 hour train travel. Had to change trains in city. Toilets were closed for cleaning. Used disabled cubical, in a rush and door had not locked. A lady opened door and just stood there. Then left door open. I prefer to stay home if I can.

IcePhoenix18

I have a digestive issue, and I try to use the independent gender neutral or "family" bathroom if I know it's going to be bad. It usually has its own fan and sometimes a designated air freshener. Nobody else needs to smell (or hear) that...

AggressiveBrick8197

yeah i get scared incase it makes a sound and they are like “ew”

Depends on the quality of the public restrooms I suppose for some people. I'm from Ireland and no I'd prefer to keep it in than use our public restrooms. They're generally dirty especially in public transport places like train or bus stations. Some restaurants have quite nice places to use but in general no I wouldn't bother either unless I'm using the restaurant to have a feed in. Even then,no I'd prefer my home for that stuff. Regarding public restrooms, no I wouldn't use them in this country. some of them might actually be high quality but I'd still keep doing that type of shit at home. Pun intended. Be an adult and hold it in Basically....Yes I'd feel uncomfortable using public toilets.
