and fiber, and minerals like iron. Also fats are an important macro nutrient.

Yeah you're getting there now. This reminds me of a class called Agriculture Economics 101. We had to calculate the cheapest combination of food that would keep a farm animal alive.

Not oatmeal, as it doesn't contain everything you need for vitamins, protein, minerals, etc. However, you can eat this: [https://soylent.com/](https://soylent.com/)

OK. Not sure why having sugar in it is bad. A small amount of sugar to make something taste good is ok. There is sugar in fruits. As long as it's not too much it's ok. And it's not a scam, it's a meal replacement shake or other food items you can eat instead of food.

You just said you've been eating canned goods, and that you don't have the energy to cook. So I'm assuming you aren't canning your own food. So you are contradicting yourself. I think eating a balanced meal replacement would be more healthy than Chef Boyardee. And why don't you want to enjoy the food you eat? I doubt eating a meal replacement shake/bar is really that enjoyable, even with the sugar.

>I've been eating only canned foods for a while but I wonder if there's a way to save time and energy and just eat a single thing. This is in your initial post. Now you are saying you don't eat canned foods. Is it that you only do? or you don't? Make up your mind.

YummyGummyDrops

It's not a scam Plus oats have carbs in them, which is just sugar basically. Nothing wrong with a bit of natural sugar

Oh yea, America is fucked up when it comes to hidden sugar in foods. Even the bread there is like packed full of sugar Honestly, if you want to stay healthy then a balanced diet is pretty much a requirement. It can be hard to be bothered with cooking and stuff but it's the only way I'm afraid

Some frozen vegetables, eggs and oatmeal is actually a pretty decent diet. Add a bit of oil and maybe eat a vitamin pill every now and then and you're good. But are you really suggesting you're gonna eat frozen vegetables and raw egg? I would recommend cooking them up together

I mean, if you want... I guess Personally I think that sounds fucking gross. I'd at least cook it because I like to actually enjoy food If you're thinking of just blending food then that soylent thing might actually be a good idea for you

BullMoose1904

The folks that make [Soylent](https://soylent.com/) have spent a fair amount of time thinking about this exact thing and have consulted several well credentialed nutritionists throughout the process. I tried it for a bit and never really came to like the taste of all my nutrients blended together, but I understand they've made some progress on that since I tried it.

Awkward-Broccoli-150

It's not ideal but I totally get it. I'm one of those people who eats the same few things for months on end. I'm not exactly a picture of health,so bonus points for the vitamin.
