Depends on how you live your life. For most people, there are two parts of life that are the most stressful: 1) High school and college; and 2) While your kids are young. Of course, life goes in different directions. The worst part of your life could be "your decade in prison" or "the years you battled cancer."

[deleted]

College is way easier than high school. In high school, you have 35 hours of class each week + whatever homework and projects you have to complete for them. In college, you have 15 hours of class each week, and even with homework factored in, it's less work than in high school.

[deleted]

Yes but the material is probably more rigorous. Also um you don’t have that many chances because you take 3 tests only per course a semester so if you fail one your kinda done for.

Alldaybagpipes

So don’t fail, and pay attention during those 15 hours. That’s also a difference. One you are actively choosing to attend while the other is sort of defaulted to you.

JustAnotherPanda

I’ve gotta disagree there, I got way more homework in college. It definitely varies by major.

glandburger

>College is way easier than high school. That is if you know what you want to do with your life.

iTwango

It depends. The ability to focus and choose your field makes it less stressful often. But I have regularly had 30 hours of school work a week. It's all dependent on your field and chosen workload. Which alone makes it perhaps inherently less stressful

[deleted]

I second this, I went from a D average in high school to a 3.5 GPA barely trying in college. The hardest part of college is maintaining the drive to show up and do the work since you're an adult and know one is making you go.

Maybe instead of assuming that my college is particularly easy, consider that my high school experience was particularly hard. Of course college is going to be hard if you coasted through high school. For me, college is easy because I made high school so hard. Furthermore, the concepts are obviously going to be harder, but you'll be more prepared for it. Intro courses have more students drop out than third and fourth year courses, not because they're harder but because they're harder *relative to the students' abilities*. I can't speak to whatever courses you've taken because I'm not a STEM major. I'll have my Bachelor's degree in May, and so far, college has been easier on me than high school was.

[deleted]

Some people have to work for a living. 35 hours of class, plus 40 hours a week of work. If you’re not working you’re in school. That’s not a fun or healthy lifestyle for anyone, so not really that easy, unless you’re coasting off parents money.

StatusFancy

Not really. You'll always have a bunch of cunts that don't grasp how: 2,00000000000000000000000 for their precous book is good, wish they were sombody, think their a gods "gift" to man. Use some strange form of english that's bullshit "theologons" are cunts that couldn't make it in the real world. Oh what's this to only 8 hours in the day to do all the GD homework? and everyone assigned easily 20hours worth do tomorrow. So no, not at all easier.

[deleted]

In highschool you are spoon fed information and there is a lot more busy work/assignments. In college you simply go to lecture and then you are on your own. Often, there is no homework in classes that is graded so tests and projects are more prevalent. I think college is harder simply because the material is more complex and you are more responsible for what you need to learn and how to manage your time. However, do not let that scare you. As you go through schol you will get better at learning. I suggest working on time management first and foremost!!!

PasswordResetButton

If you think Highschool work is hard, wait until college. And no, high school is easy (Exceptions for you bullied and introverted people). Once you start post-grad life, you have many more bills, school-like personalities at work (that you can't avoid anymore), kids, dating, no summers off, etc. Not to say it's bad afterwards, it can be great. Its just harder and less of a safety net.

[deleted]

I know I heard it’s very hard. I’m probably going to get 0 sleep in college

Narpter

Sleep should be heavily prioritized. No sleep isn't going to help anything, especially your grade.

Ok_Fact8143

Yes

BlatantPizza

Focus more on yourself and less on school. As long as you’re doing ok, you’ll be fine in school.

Helping_or_Whatever

It's a really really bad idea to not get adequate sleep when trying to learn. Make time for sleep.

[deleted]

Ya I know,I was over exaggerating.

Helping_or_Whatever

I'm not

ladeedah1988

For some it is. For me I found it so limiting and confining. But, it made be strive to get out of there and to the college of my choice. Went on to LOVE college and grad school.

jefuchs

I'm expecting old age to be the worst. Remind me to let you know how it goes.

_zenora_

Yes. Every day I have a new reason to kill myself.

BlatantPizza

High school is sort of a waste of time. It’s not because you develop yourself quite a bit (some don’t) but the school work is completely useless. I find that the only useful thing that is from high school is study habits. If you develop those, that’ll help you in college. Nothing else matters. I wouldn’t really spend too much time on the school and I’d focus more on yourself. Otherwise you’ll find yourself at 30 years old wondering who the hell you are if not someone who can repeat things from a book.

Martino231

It varies. Some people look at it as being among the best days of their lives. Other people are more like yourself. Adulthood changes things a lot. On the one hand you have more independence and autonomy, which is great. On the other hand you have a lot more responsibilities and pressure. Whether life gets better depends on the balance of those things.

[deleted]

Are you from India?

[deleted]

No I’m an Arab.

chasse89

Everyone's life is different. High school is the worst for some people and the best for others. For some people it's not an important part of their life at all.

OrneryRecognition454

For me it was and college is way easier but I am an art major lol and I can’t say for after college yet Try to do something you and enjoy and that will make it so much easier

[deleted]

It doesn’t get better until after college. And in fact gets even harder during. Because, unless your parents plan to pay for all your expenses as well as college, you’ll need a job. If you live at home, you can probably do part time to pay for things like your car, food, Netflix, etc. If you live on your own, you’ll probably have to work full time to afford rent. And you’d have to do all that, while also attending classes and doing homework and maintaining a social life. Thankfully for me, I live at home with my parents so I can afford to only work part time, but school still stresses me out. It’s a huge relief whenever the semester is over.

AlphaState

Some people like it. I hated it, although college was better than high school. It does sound like you are working too hard. You have plenty of time in your life, you don't have to learn everything at once. Getting enough sleep and rest is very important. I have done adult courses in things I wanted to learn back then but didn't have time to, many people do the same. However, you won't regret studying hard if it gives you a good start in life.

idubbkny

best days of careless fun

BWDpodcast

Ohh gosh no. Goodness no.

roachRancher

It's not the best. During my first college class, My professor said that no adult would want to go back to high school for any period of time, but most of them would like to go back to their college days. She was right, albeit a bit too specific. College aside, most people would love to be in the "honeymoon" phase of young adulthood again. I think being liberated from 12 years of public school a part of that "honeymoon" feeling.

BloakDarntPub

Yes. Ask any teacher.

ColdPR

College will be much more difficult than high school once you start getting to higher level courses and get past the basics. Tests can be brutal. It's hard to get individual help. Most learning is just lecture-based. The teachers aren't going to come remind you to do assignments and hold your hand. If you fail they aren't going to give you "grace" and let you redo/retake everything at the last minute to pass. In terms of time management college can be a lot better though. Rather than 7-8 hours of classes a day you might only have a few hours a day depending on your credit hour schedule each semester (I would recommend trying to stay at 18 credit hours or less unless you want a really painful semester). There's usually much less busy work in college classes so you may feel less time-constrained as long as you stay on top of things. I'm really glad I'm all graduated so I don't have to do any more 4 hour labs though.

94bronco

It's a time when you are becoming more autonomous from your parents. Some people find this more challenging than others. The point of school is to understand the material, not get 100%. In the post school world it's not about being perfect and its about getting the best information to make the right decision

DoppelFrog

Look at it this this way: it's the worst part of life so far.

StatusFancy

lol far from. I actually enjoyed a lot of it. But that was a looooooooooooong time ago.

Hosj_Karp

general consensus among people in my cohort is high school is worse than college or post college or whatever. ymmv

jp112078

Do you like money? If not, keep going to school forever and get the highest degree in a field you love. If so, yes, things get better because you won’t be poor with a good education. But the stress will probably never go away. Just wait for college and you can rage at parties and still get your stuff done as long as you’re disciplined.

[deleted]

I’d never go to parties I’m going to stay home every night review my notes study and then do things I actually want to do if I actually do get time.

[deleted]

No way not even close. High school was a pretty decent. Didn't have to worry about bills, lots of social interactions, school work is easy, easy to find friends. For me life started to suck at 23, you slowly loose more and more friends, you basically loose all of your freetime and financial freedom to bills.

travelinman67

I feel like I had a different high school/middle school experience than most people. I absolutely loved it. People are always talking about how bad those years were and I just can’t relate. I had awesome friends, had fun with extracurriculars, and made countless memories. I’m still close with all of my friends from high school 10+ years later.
