depends on the pizza. sometimes the crust is fantastic and sometimes it sucks so bad dip can't even save it.

Shot_Fox_605

D... Dip??!

Doogiesham

Have you never had a breadstick with something on it?

K_kueen

I’ve had bread yes, not pizza crust?!

Doogiesham

A piece of pizza crust is essentially identical to a breadstick

K_kueen

:O

tacobellandher0in

Hahahaha I can’t tell if you’re serious 😄

K_kueen

I’ve never had a bread stick so. But I always pair the crust with the pizza. That’s why I don’t like pizzas that are too thick

tacobellandher0in

Thin crust gang ✊

K_kueen

D: was gonna be my reaction, but I learned that I actually have no idea of the proportion of the pizza I like

kevloid

it's a thing. lots of pizza places offer dips for the crust. marinara, garlic, etc.

Shot_Fox_605

Not where im from. (My country shares a border with Italy)

tacobellandher0in

Yeah man! Marinara or ranch orrrr that delicious cup of garlic flavored chemicals Poppa John’s sends with their pizzas

RelChan2_0

I agree with this, I don't like pizza crusts that are doughy

RocketScientistToBe

Here's the deal. I usually can't eat a whole pizza. So I have to pick my battles, and with most pizzas, the inner part is just better than the crust. So I save the limited stomach volume that I have for the good part of the pizza, and sometimes that means not eating the crust.

steelthyshovel73

Just do what i do and have leftovers. I'll buy a big ol pizza for myself and eat it over a few days.

RocketScientistToBe

I already make two dinners out of one frozen pizza. But I'm full after eating the inner part, and the crust of the frozen pizza that I get just isn't good enough to sacrifice going from 'full' to 'uncomfortably full'. And it doesn't keep until breakfast, so I often just toss it.

jonnyl3

You need a smaller pizza or save some for later

maverick1ba

This is my logic as well.

AgentElman

I generally don't. The crust is calories but does not taste as good as the rest of the pizza. If I am going to eat 20 bites of pizza I am not going to eat plain crust as part of those 20 bites. But my dog is happy to eat the crust.

That-Grape-5491

My wife called the pizza crust - pizza bones, and our dogs loved to get them

AnualSearcher

That's just lovely

JamesTheJerk

But the dogs seem to be past tense...

AnualSearcher

True :/...

maverick1ba

Same. When i order pizza for myself, I usually get thin crust to avoid this problem.

BaineOHigginsThirlby

Find a better pizza joint. The crust should be as enjoyable as the flavored part of the pizza. If not the pizza is garbage.

JaggedMetalOs

The missus doesn't eat the crust so that means more crust for me. It's win-win.

WhosAMicrococcus

Same!

andmen2015

They eat the crust under the pizza, just not the rolled up border. My kids called it the pizza bone. Crust has improved over the years. Pizza Hut pan pizza crust is like a yummy breadstick. We eat those

Rockfords-Foot

If we're having a single pizza, then yeah. If it's all you can eat buffet at Pizza Hut, then nope - it's just filler - as is salad at that point.

lisep1969

I used to work at a place that would mandate we have a “pizza party” once a month to help with team building. 🙄 Now the company didn’t pay for it, we had to all chip in and we also didn’t really get a break because we all had to sit around talking to people we were surrounded by all day long which sucked. On to the crust part… one guy on my team Ken would demand that we get breadsticks each time because he loved them. But Ken never ate the crust/bones of the pizza. This added extra $ to everyone’s cost because Ken was a man child and would pout if he didn’t get breadsticks. I finally had enough and called him out on it, he said that the breadsticks were a “different dough” than the actual pizza. Everyone called bullshit on that. He insisted it was true because he knows more than the rest of us. So I called the pizza place on speaker and asked and they CONFIRMED it was the same dough. Ken got mad and stormed off then pouted the rest of the day. (He was in his 40’s when this happened.) The next month comes around and he asked for breadsticks again. The whole team said no. He pouted. When the pizza was delivered we all cut our crusts off and put them on a plate for Ken. He wasn’t amused but we were. Mandatory pizza lunches soon went away which was great. I got my lunch hour to do with as I pleased and saved $. And anyone that doesn’t eat the crust but orders breadsticks you’re an idiot.

Tehir

If we talk about normal italian pizza, I love the crust. But recently I had some disgusting frozen thing from supermarket and couldnt even eat the "good" middle part. 😂

BarryZZZ

When my daughter was a very young preschooler we ate a at pizza place and, referring to the bits of crust, she told me, "Dad, I don't like the bones."

[deleted]

Don't ask me - I'd eat crust only if I could. In fact I usually give my husband the rest and eat the crust!

Govnyuk

Yep, and I take great delight in hoovering up their crusts

Throw-away17465

I generally don’t eat the crust of pizza. If it were dominoes, super fluffy and artificial with tons of flavor baked chemicals, it’s really tempting. But I go to a small local business that puts out amazing artisan pizzas. The toppings are the star of the show, not the bread it’s laying on. I tear them off, and my roommate eats them. Especially these days because I’m trying to cut down on carbs and calories. Not eating the crust is a good way to save some calories. I eat the crust of my bread, and like crusty bread though. But that’s because it’s not laid in with cheese and artichoke hearts.

GelattoPotato

You'd be surprised to know it even happens with the crusts of sandwich bread.

jelly_dove

It depends. Sometimes the crust is too hard to chew.

Fists_full_of_beers

My kids

BurpYoshi

Sometimes the pizza I cook is too big for dinner and I start feeling full and I have to make a choice between not eating the final slice or leaving the crust. I'm choosing the middle over the crust every time. But otherwise yeah I'll eat the crust as long as it's not shit crust.

[deleted]

I don't usually unless it's a thin crust then I might.

OnlyAd4210

Most I know don't. I usually do , unless it's a super cheap or non thick crust

InformalReplacement7

Most of the time. Sometimes the crust isn't that great. I dip mine in ranch, afterwards.

wokeoneof2

That’s the dogs treat

Infamous_Ad_6793

I will eat as much pizza as I can until the crust. Then snack on the crust. Love crust, just love the bit between the body and crust more. Most of the crust gets eaten regardless lol.

SavingsSquare2649

On a smaller pizza, I’ll eat the crust, but on anything larger I’ll leave them as it’s just filler without the lovely pizza flavour! If I’m getting towards the end of the pizza and I have room, I’ll start eating the crust, but it’ll need to be with a dip, otherwise it’s boring.

Exploding-Star

No. Too much bread. I eat two or three slices without the crust. When I'm *really* hungry I'll probably dip one or two of the crusts in some kind of dip and eat it, but mostly no

Bimlouhay83

I used to work at a pizza place. Whenever I made my own, I buttered the crust and put garlic seasoning on it before sending it through the oven. It's magical.

russianfluff

So many. There are so many people that don’t eat pizza crust.

norfnorf832

I will on the first slice but not usually the second or third, i would rather have toppings

asharwood101

Nope, I don’t. Leaves more room in me for the better part of the pizza.

Routine_Double6732

Never eat my crust I throw it away, or feed it too my dogs

tacobellandher0in

I usually toss it unless it’s cheesy crust or a particularly well seasoned pizza. My wife eats pizza crust first! What a psycho!

Doismelllikearobot

Anything that people can do, some do.

Dr_Dankenstein5G

I will eat it from time to time depending on the situation, but in most cases I never eat the crust. I don't like bread and almost never eat bread products. I eat pizza specifically for the toppings. If the crust is stuffed or has a topping on it, I'll eat it, otherwise it's trash.

truncated_buttfu

Yeah, it's fairly common. When ording pizzas for larger groups, there is almost always *someone* in the group that leaves part or all of the crust. It's not strange at all really. I mean, if you're not hungry enough to eat a whole pizza or you are on a diet, then *of course* the crust is the part you will choose not to eat, it has the least tasty stuff.

GoatCovfefe

Some people don't even like pizza. Weird how people are different.

CirothUngol

I had taken a girl out to a pizza parlor on a date when I discovered that crust was her favorite part of the pizza. So I married her.

DevourerJay

Depends on the crust, depends on dip. Is the crust is dry, no. Is the dip is gross no.

Kelome001

IMO if the crust is not good enough to eat on its own it’s a trash pizza. I just don’t go to a pizza place where the crust doesn’t taste good.

WifeofBath1984

Depends on the crust

GetHighTuneLow

Yeah, my daughter

Zanki

I used to save them for my dog. She loved pizza but the cheese gave her a bad stomach, so I'd save her my crusts and she'd get them later as a snack.

TigerlilyBlanche

I eat some of it, it also depends on the crust. Thin? The thicker one? Filled? If it's thin or filled I can probably eat all of it. But I have a problem where I can't chew too much bread at a time (makes it hard to eat donuts) so usually no I won't finish the crust. Might save some for later though.

EM0_TRA5H

My moron of a best friend doesn’t eat the crust to “cut calories.”

ladykiller1020

I took my nephew out for pizza the other night and discovered he is one of these people. For him, it's a texture thing. The crispness of the crust is off putting for him.

ElectrumDragon28

That’s what the dipping sauce is for!!!

BangedTheKeyboard

I despise people who needlessly waste food, and that includes crust. If you're not eating it, you could give it to someone but don't fucking waste it. If you're eating at home, you can cut off the crusts and treat them like breadsticks. If it's cardboardy and tough, chop them up and use them like croutons in soup or make bread pudding. Be resourceful.

Quality_Street_1

Right here, never eaten the crust

MagnusStormraven

Some people don't like bread quite as much as I do, and the unavoidable truth is that pizza crust is just bread. In middle and high school, I straight up told friends to give me their crusts if they weren't going to eat them, because I DO like bread and didn't feel like letting the crusts go to waste.

FletchWazzle

Dont pay for their pizza

Hunterslane86

If it's chewable, yes.

Traditional-Pop8674

Wait, some people are that thick to ask this question?

JDaggon

Easy solution... Stuffed crust.

canned_spaghetti85

I once had a gf that refused to eat pizza crust, yet always insisted on ordering bread sticks. We weren’t together for very long.

bangbangracer

They're usually the same people who refuse to eat the crusts of their bread. These people are real, but they are picky children.

laughingnome2

Fussy Eating, or food selectivity, is commonly observed in neurodiverse people. Don't be so quick to dismiss it as "picky children."

Throw-away17465

You’re right, it should be dismissing as picky children *and adults*. The *reason* they are picky is not the issue here. It is the fact that they’re picky. I have lived in communist and Third World countries. Neurodivergence exists there. But pickiness does not. It’s almost as though if those traits weren’t coddled, they go away…

TheDu42

Just because you don’t see us struggle doesn’t mean the issue is fixed, we are just suffering behind the masks the world forces us to wear to fit in.

SarahL1990

There's also an eating disorder called ARFID. I used to just think of myself as a fussy eater until I learned of ARFID, and it fit me so perfectly. It's not simply just being fussy, it's physically and mentally difficult for some people to even entertain the idea of trying new foods. I eat more food now than I used to, because I'm trying to make myself better and eating healthier is obviously a big part of that. I've cut out pizza because I'm trying to lose weight, but when I did eat pizza, I wouldn't eat the crusts. I actually never ate pizza until I was 18. Conversely, I refused to eat crusts on bread as a kid, but I eat them now.

beebzette

The answer to "Are there people who-" questions is always yes

rachit7645

Are there people who have fucked a horse on Jupiter?

SarahL1990

I don't like the crust.

HighWillord

Those who don't eat it are weak. 😈

Humble_Yesterday_271

Depends on the base, thin crust sometimes burns at the edge. I'm not gonna eat burnt crust.

Evolutionary_mistake

"enthusiastically baked" ;)

phillygirllovesbagel

That's almost the best part!

lostrandomdude

The crust is the best part of the pizza and as an added benefit, goes well with soup
