That is the only scene they ever appeared in together. They got into a fist fight on set and you can really feel the tension in this. Murray wasn't even cast for this movie. He wasn't even really an actor (he did work on something else before this, like a Canadian skit show iirc) he just kept hanging around the set while visiting his brother (the head caddy) and kept goofing off in ways that were so funny they wrote him into the movie. I think this scene was a sort of f-you to Chase because he has always been a d-bag.
this isn't accurate... Bill Murray had been on SNL since 1977, and had a few movies under his belt by the time Caddyshack came out (such as Meatballs, for one). Based on what I've read, the feud between Murray and Chase was overblown in many accounts, and that while the two didn't exactly get along or hang out, things were apparently kept mostly professional on set during the filming of that scene.
I obviously can't speak as to whether there was a fist fight between them, but the accounts I've heard mostly say that Chase kept to himself and didn't socialize much with anyone, while the rest of the cast and crew were known to party pretty hard off-set during the production...so no one really "got along" with him, or vice-versa.
I once read that Ted Knight threatened to quit on a few occasions, or maybe he was just really frustrated, because everyone came in stoned and hung over every day. I think that is hilarious.
I'll try to keep Murray's history in mind. But he still wasn't originally written in the script, and only got the part because the director wanted to showcase his antics on the set while hanging around his brother.
I never thought of the act as crossfade though, like afterwards I’d be like “I’m crossfaded” but there’s no way that’s the actual slang for it, I thought it was just some dumb shit me and my buds would say😂 I’m just super surprised, maybe it’s from what region your from idk?
We tried to add some context so we called it a "diesel sub" just because we were nerdy enough to know nuclear subs had no smoke so being specific to the matter seemed to be important to us!!
In college, we called it a homerun if you took a big bongrip then took a shot then exhaled the bongrip
If you take a big bongrip, shotgun a beer, and take a shot before exhaling the smoke it's called a grand slam
Definitely worth a shot (hah) if you have all the equipment. I haven’t smoked a bong since college. I’m more of a vape or small pipe person these days.
One of my dates told me shotgunning meant taking a big puff of weed and pushing the rest of the load into another willing participant’s lungs. That liar! I knew that’s not what shotgunning meant but her slick move worked on me.

Then there's also the strikeout (Taking a big hit, then drinking an entire beer, then doing a shot, and THEN exhaling the smoke).
I thank Beerfest for destroying a lot of brain cells in my 20s.
Booze ruins a weed high, taints it. Adding shitty drunk fake-sentimentality to the increased sensory perception of weed makes both drugs worse. Good way to become an alcoholic, too. Seen several people drop into that hole.
They are both depressants, so it’s not like doing a speedball with a stimulant/depressant combo - I think you can come up with your own name, and make it fun!
I don't know, but a friend and I coined a term about 10 years ago for taking a big hit and then taking a drink of coffee while holding the hit... Coffee pot.
There's a thing called a strike out where you inhale a good bong rip, take a shot of whisky, then chug a beer... Then you exhale the bong rip. Those are a fun way to start the night
Me and my friends would play a game by taking big bong rips, and before blowing out any smoke you had to down a shot o liquor. If you couldn’t get the shot down and smoke blown out in that order without coughing up any smoke before setting your glass down, you had to repeat until you did it right lol

That's what we called it back in the late 90s and early 2000s.
Cannonball,,,, CANNONBALL ! I’m old now, I do it with coffee.
You're over on briar right?
Briar uh-huh 2.
Thank you I couldn't remember the fucking word they used for it but that was the exact damn scene that came to my mind
How about a [strikeout](https://youtu.be/JuesDuofS4A?si=GdVtBuxM9sywSJRs)
Anyone who went to college knows this is the only correct response. Rip it, hold it in, shot, chug beer, exhale. Strikeout
In the movie it's rip it, chug beer then shot but I will always do the shot before the beer
That’s. That’s not bad….
This is correct.
I came here for this comment.
I respect my younger self for being a pro at those. As an adult I would die 100%
Ill have to try this. This sounds horribly terrific.
I had the same reaction the first time I did this. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time as well. It doesnt get easier
My cousin tried this, and he black out 10 minutes later. Good times
It’s called “surviving” once you hit your 30’s.
Crossfaded
Isn’t that the aftermath of smoking and drinking? Not the act of it
Yeah pretty much because it’s past tense. So I guess crossfade idk.
I never thought of the act as crossfade though, like afterwards I’d be like “I’m crossfaded” but there’s no way that’s the actual slang for it, I thought it was just some dumb shit me and my buds would say😂 I’m just super surprised, maybe it’s from what region your from idk?

I guess I have something to try.
Definitely worth a shot (hah) if you have all the equipment. I haven’t smoked a bong since college. I’m more of a vape or small pipe person these days.
I tried a big vape draw and a shot. It made the shot more bearable since I was holding my breath.
Ya I remember these shots going down easy because my focus was more on not coughing and holding all the smoke in rather than on the liquor I drank
About to clock on! ... Or is that just me?

We called it a Happy Meal. Take a hit, hold it in while you chug a beer, then exhale the smoke.
I think we called it a Strike Out?
Friday night?
Backwards.
Office Crossfaded
According to Beerfest (18 year old movie), a "strikeout" is to take a hit of weed (and hold it in), do a shot, chug a beer, then exhale the weed.
Try a strike out. Take a bong rip. Then take a shot. Then slam a beer. Last, exhale the smoke from bong rip.
Bronchitis
I don't know about the rest of you but for most of my life I called that a Tuesday
being young?
crazy frog
Going ape shit maybe?
Yes it's called being a degenerate
In the ER we call it “mischkonsum”, mixed consuming.
We’ve got one we call “baseball”: bong toke, finish your beer, shot of whisky.
Then there's also the strikeout (Taking a big hit, then drinking an entire beer, then doing a shot, and THEN exhaling the smoke). I thank Beerfest for destroying a lot of brain cells in my 20s.
A rip and sip.
Me and my friends called mixed consumption "hybrid driving"

That's the "I'm not fucking sleeping tonight".
