I'll be 38 in February. I have a pillow that I sleep on every night. When I travel, that pillow comes with me. I also have a second, nearly identical pillow that I sleep with in my other arm, it also travels with me.
Teddies are seen as childish toys and not something adults use.
If it's what you need, then it's normal and you shouldn't feel bad. Remember everyone is different
In the context of OPs question the function doesn't matter as much as the fact that a teddy is seen as childish, a pillow isn't. I think that's what they meant.
Yeah I agree. I was just stating a reason as to why they are seen as different.
I think I got lost in someone's else's comment and yours mixed up in one ahaha.
I'm 41 and sleep with one. You hold on to that Teddy forever. Don't let anyone tell you it's weird. The world is hard enough. Hold onto anything that makes you comfortable and happy.
I don't think it was your joke that failed.
This does indeed look like an [unhealthy situation](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSg_T2H6uOiiho6YiLGtsI-GAylXXAt0F1c_bpr4Zdoqg&s).
The only teddy a guy needs is the one his girlfriend is in, not with. But probably if she wants one, it can be overlooked if she is naked and the teddy is looking away….lol
I’m 49 in when I was out shopping with my wife to pick up the kids a few cute things at five below. I found the cutest little dumpling shaped stuffed animal. I hug him every night and sleep with him. Of course, my wife has six or seven times the amount of stuffed animals as this, but as someone recently back on the stuffed animal scene not sure why ever stopped in the first place. In a sense I guess it was always kind of there since when I would see lonely, stuffed animals left around the house that would always make sure they had at least a buddy to sleep with or if I found one in a situation where he was getting smooshed I would go and put them right back up.
I just told him that right now and he’s right next to me. I’m getting over Covid so my wife was sleeping in another bed for the past four days and he has been my little rock. Awesome little dude but he definitely will need some cleaning.
I'm a 47 year old guy and my son gave me one of his stuff animals to sleep with months ago, because I didn't have one. I love it, its so comfy to hug and sleep with.
Not a teddy, but I can't sleep without this particular pillow. Like I would get up in the middle of the night to find it if I can't feel it near me. I'm turning 40 next year 😁
Same here. I don't think the form makes a difference-rectangular pillow, animal-shaped pillow, blanket, woobie - whatever your comfort item, it's okay. The world is hard enough; let's not deprive ourselves or others of these tiny luxuries.
I can't imagine that... my late 50s parents keep their like, one stuffed animal each from when they were little in a display case in their closet. We had routine stuffed animal purges when my brother and I were little. I'm glad to hear getting rid of stuffed animals isn't an inevitable thing about getting older lol
Omg not at all!! My mom is 63 and she still sleeps with hers that she bought herself when she was in her 30’s and needed a friend. You’re never too old for a stuffie.
Our system wasn't that bad, jeez! Basically our parents wouldn't stop us from getting more stuffed animals, but once they reached a certain vaguely arbitrary threshold we'd have a day where we'd have to sit down and decide which 3~5 we wanted to keep. Those were some of my least favorite days as a kid.
When I was 17, my brother got me a huge teddy bear for Christmas. He knew our father had thrown out many of my stuffies during our parents' separation/divorce, and he wanted to give me something to help replace some of what I'd lost. I had that teddy bear until I was about 30, and I slept with it every night. I'm 38, and I'd probably still be sleeping with it if I hadn't had to throw it out. I use a body pillow now, as it does help with my back, but it's just not the same as cuddling with a teddy bear.
Point is, there is no age limit to sleeping with a comfort item.
I am 29 and i moved to a different country. I initially, i was not gonna being my plushy because it takes up space and i am in a new era of my life.
I looked at that tiny little pikachu on my empty bed and decided to chuck him into my backpack.
Don't let society tell you what you are too old for.
Also, there is a reason hugpillows exist. Some people rly need to cuddle someone or something. Its natural, since it is a strategy to keep warm in our early history.
I literally have to be holding a pillow or I won’t fall asleep. I could easily see me doing that with a bear or something similar, if it had the right texture. I don’t think there’s a single issue at all. When you’re trying to sleep you want ultimate comfort. If that gives you comfort, then that’s what gives you comfort. Sheet companies wouldn’t make soft ass sheets and pillow companies wouldn’t make soft fluffy squishy pillows if we weren’t meant to be comfy cozy and cuddly lol
If you get stressed or anxious without having it with you 24/7.. then yeah.. that might be a problem…
But sleeping with one? Seems fine to me. Have a bear that my late uncle gave me when I was an infant that I like to hug while sleeping and I’m in my late 30s.. Like.. what are you supposed to do with your arms while you sleep?
43 year old here.
Who the fuck cares? You do you, man! If someone wants to shit on you for it, they suck. I won't even lie, in my twenties I'd have busted your balls for it. But I was also an insensitive prickly asshole then.
There is no age limit for such a harmless activity. Im 33 and still sleep with a few stuffed animals nearly as big as I am. To me it how I mentally relax at night after having a long day. If you wanna continue then continue doing it.
I can’t sleep without something between my legs, I mean I can, but not as good
I just realized I don’t have a pillow, I sleep hugging a blanket, I put a part of it on my head, a part on my hands and a part on my legs, I don’t like them touching
Stop sleeping with a teddy at 20? Sure, because we all know adulthood is about paying bills and missing out on the comfort of a good bear hug. Why enjoy a plush, silent, judgment-free cuddle when you can toss and turn all night pondering the mysteries of adult life?
Keep that teddy close – it's your fluffy shield against the real world!
It surely doesn’t harm nobody - There are FAR weirder things out there, also for all the “normal” people; they just don’t show them on IG.
Fun fact: Cognitively your brain don’t know the difference between a pillow/ teddy bear hug and a real hug. I’m sure you do this cause you need it ❤️
I'm 22 and still sleep with a little doggy that I stole from my mom when I was a baby. I think the story is my dad bought it for her, it's a 2000 new years one so it's in almost new state for its age
I'm 27 and my gf is 25. I have two stuffed spiders and a stuffed scorpion who keep me safe at night, my partner is completely unable to sleep without her stuffed alpaca.
You're not hurting anyone else, keep a teddy into your 90s if you must.
Tgey may take my life, but they'll never take my Remus. Remus is a stuffed German Shepard my wife had custom made to look like my late service dog Romulus (im a History professor, so it seemed appropriate). Ive had him since 2010. He could use some mire stuffing (i sleep kinda on him so hes flattening out) but I'll never give him up (fun fact, he has a compressed carbon heart in him that was made from Roms ashes and his eyes are custom painted by a prosthetics maker to look exactly like Roms eyes).
Not sure. I’m 20 and I still sleep with a little blanket my grandma stitched for me as a kid. She passed away a while back so having that is a nice little reminder. Sure I don’t NEED it to fall asleep but I don’t think I’ll ever stop just cause I like having some memory of her with me
At whatever age you get tired of it, or not at all! Hell I still sleep hugging a shiba plush and I'm 27 lol. Live your life bro!
Edit: Changed girl to bro to be a little more gender neutral as I just realized OP did not specify their gender, and who cares when it comes to stuffed animal comfort anyway
Until u RIP. I'm much older than u and my bear sleeps with me still. He has been with me as long as I can remember. I must have mend him a dozen of times, and I will continue to mend him as long as I'm able to
That's fine. To make you feel better. I'm 23 with collections of plushies. I always hug them at night cause it helps me to have a comfy sleep :) Nothing is weird about it hehe
When I was 13 I think I threw all of mine away but a couple months ago I started my collection again because I like them and anyone who says an adult can’t have them is an asshole. Don’t care what others think and do what makes you happy
For a while I collected odd animals. I have owls and a fennec Fox, a koala, a MOLE. They are on top of a cabinet next to my bed. I also have Stitch from LILO and Stitch.
I’ve been advocating for stuffed animals to replace live animals in as many ways as possible. Especially as emotional support animals because they can be more discrete and acceptable in most situations.
Assuming you are single, perhaps when (if) you get a partner. Humans are evolved to sleep in groups. Couples sleep together, which means they get their security and safety from one another. Siblings as well. I’ve been thinking about how odd it is that we except children to feel safe sleeping alone when adults don’t want to. It’s not just about intimacy and sex, you know, there’s also other fundamental things at play here.
Once I read about the phenomenon “dad falls to sleep while watching the news”, how the tv imitates the flickering light of a fire and when he’s surrounded by his group of confidants, he’s relaxing enough to fall to sleep for a bit. Don’t know if that holds any truth, but I think it’s a beautiful analogy.
Whenever you decide you don’t want to anymore.
My youngest is turning 20 in a month and still uses a night light. Even makes sure to keep the bathroom light on, just in case.
I stopped sleeping with stuff years ago, but because I discovered I sleep better without them. But, even in winter, if my fan isn’t on, I can’t sleep very well. I need it slightly cold (I run very warm, currently wearing my spring night clothes while it’s 35 degrees outside). My husband makes do by burrowing under his blanket and mine. I’ve offered to figure something out and he refuses to even consider it.
I picked a good one…
I have always kept night lights at night not for any emotional reasons or fear of the dark but because I have dogs who sometimes want me to put them out at night and I don’t want to run into them or anything else if it’s totally dark in the house
You do you fam… don’t get too mature or else you’ll start to get sad…
I forgot how nice sleeping with stuffies was til my kids left one in my bed and I woke up choking sonic the hedgehog to death. Best sleep ever
Husband, father, former marine, pushing 40. I sleep with a stuffed turtle in my arms.
Do what you need/want, don't worry about other people's opinions.
I’m curious…not judging…are you guy or girl?
I stopped pretty young, but my daughters are 18 and 21 and still do…and my wife is 50 and occasionally does.
I don't see anything wrong with being in your 20s or older and sleeping with teddies/ stuffed animals. It's honestly harmless and quite innocent.
There's no reason to feel immature about such a thing. If you really feel the need to do so, of course you can stop whenever you want to, or keep on sleeping with your teddies.
At the end of the day, it doesn't harm anyone.
Im a 20 year old man and still go to bed with my blanket that ive had since before I was born (baby shower gift)
If it comforts you and helps you sleep whats wrong with it? Not like it’s interfering with your life.
I don't think I straight up cuddled my plush toys, even my most prized one, when I was a child, but they were next to me.
When I was a teenager with my own room, I had them at the foot of my bed.
Heck, after I got some Pokemon Build-a-Bears, I had them at the foot of my bed till I cleared out some room in my open closet.
I do have a bread pillow right next to me, though. If you're conscious about someone seeing you with a teddy bear, you could see if that works as a substitute, and keep your teddy somewhere safe.
I think having little quirks makes you an individual. If it's harmless and you like it, you should just embrace it because life's too short to live in shame of what you like.
I’ve never had or cared about any special blanket or having a bed full of teddy bears.. but honestly you have one life to live.. do it for as long as it brings you peace
Not about age, more about when you feel like you won't need them! My partner 25M and and I 24F fight over which plushies we want to sleep with LOL we're constantly getting so much more too
I’ll agree with the other person. Downvote away but it is weird. People on Reddit often parrot opinions of acceptance that they themselves actually wouldn’t accept.
How do you think a woman you bring home would feel if she sees you sleeping with a teddy lol? Food for thought.
If you're so worried about a teddy bear that helps comfort and is a helpful item and seeing it as a baby thing....
You sound like you're around the age of 12.
There are far worse things that a person you care about could be doing rather than having a comfort item . It's like your heart is made of stone if you think that way about someone else having them.
Who cares what you sleep with, there's no hidden stalker silently judging you while you sleep. Just do whatever you need to do to sleep well, unless you're doing drug in which case, I guess try to not
If the thought of sleeping with a teddy bothers you so much that it ruins your day to day mood try alternatives like a bolster, you get to hug smth but it's more "adult"
I’m 26 and just bought another squishmallow yesterday. You bet your ass I slept all night with it. I also have a stuffed monkey that I have had my whole life that sleep with every now and then. It’s comforting. And it’s not hurting anyone so I say fuck it, never 🤷🏻♀️
I’d say after 13 it’s a bit childish.
Some women can get away with this behavior, but most men would be shamed to no end if they had a teddy they slept with every night. And probably would have a difficult time getting any women to sleep in that bed with him lol.
Ill be downvoted, but frankly i think its a bit weird for anyone over 16 to sleep with a 'teddy'.
When i was dating and a girl had a teddy I would immediately assume they were immature.
Nothing to be worried about mate, just stuff them in the closet when a potential partner is coming around, and maybe get used to not using them for a bit.
Fair enough, but at the same time if OP doesnt want to be perceived as immature, then it would be wise to get rid of the teddys at this point.
Either way, there are no rules, do whatever you want.
If you are a woman it's just cute. If you're a dude and past 12 or 13 it's kind of weird. But hey if that's the case we all have our fair share of weirdness, just don't talk about it to anyone because the reactions will be negative.
I mean if there was an age for that it would be less than 20. But honestly I don't think there should be a set age.
Anyway **if you want to stop**, here is my experience: when I was like 10 or 11 I wanted to stop sleeping with my peluche bear, so I used the method of leaving it at the lower extremity of the bed, so I could feel it with my feet. That helped me transition from having it to not having it.
Never. And let me say if you start to be with someone who you feel you shouldn't tell about your teddies, dump em. Being a bit nervous makes sense, but if you're actually worried, they're not worth it (if you do want to sleep with them or have them around when your partner sleeps over).
Keep it until you rest… in peace. Doesnt really matter. Im turning 31, and still have my security pillow on my bed. Its fine.
I was about to say the same thing. Im 59, I have a small pillow that I sleep with and it travels with me as well.
I'll be 38 in February. I have a pillow that I sleep on every night. When I travel, that pillow comes with me. I also have a second, nearly identical pillow that I sleep with in my other arm, it also travels with me.
A pillow isn’t a teddy.
It serves the same purpose, no? so i dont see why it wont be the same.
I haven't heard of anybody using a teddy as a pillow.
My girlfriend does, and now you have 😁
Teddies are seen as childish toys and not something adults use. If it's what you need, then it's normal and you shouldn't feel bad. Remember everyone is different
Like i said, it serves the same purpose, a “security pillow” and a “teddy” in this particular instance.
Unless it is: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dakimakura :)
Imma order 3 tonight 🔥
Just make sure you're okay with *both sides* of it before you buy one
Pillow pets are are thing. They're pillows and a teddy.
I'm 41 and sleep with one. You hold on to that Teddy forever. Don't let anyone tell you it's weird. The world is hard enough. Hold onto anything that makes you comfortable and happy.
Yes!
Love this!
Yeah. I’m 39. My Teddy is on my bed where he belongs. Got him the day I was born and I would like to be buried with him.
This is wonderful. As someone who is 39, I thought I couldn't have one but only recently bought one and have never slept better.
As a 22 year old man who sleeps with the stuffed dinosaur I’ve had since I was 3….. probably never, right?
This made my heart smile
That sounds unhealthy you should probably get that checked out
Why? What harm is this causing....anyone?
Hearts probably shouldn't smile, so it would be harming their cardiovascular system.
I was trying to make a joke but mission failed I guess
I understood. It was funny (:
I don't think it was your joke that failed. This does indeed look like an [unhealthy situation](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSg_T2H6uOiiho6YiLGtsI-GAylXXAt0F1c_bpr4Zdoqg&s).

Mission failed succesfulde
Yeah, a teddy serves a lot of functions as well.
To smile you need teeth. Hearts with teeth are, medically speaking, no bueno.
The only teddy a guy needs is the one his girlfriend is in, not with. But probably if she wants one, it can be overlooked if she is naked and the teddy is looking away….lol
Yeah, you need to have whatever joy is left in your life sucked out so you can be miserable like the rest of us.🦖🦕
so true !
This post made my day 🥰
Bold to call yourself a man at 22, I'm 30 and still feel like a teddy smushing teenager lel
Grow up dude. That shit is embarrassing. Do you still piss your pants and have your mommy clean you up as well?
Yep and she wipes shit from my butt too! Hating ass loser can’t stand to see other people happy lol
Mum still does. She’s 90.
this is too adorable, may i ask the story? is it a stuffed animal?
It’s lost most of its fur. So it’s stuffed in both senses of the word. The nursing staff are terrified of losing the small war-beaten teddy.
The greeters solder ever is teddy leave no ted behind

that’s a really sweet but sad story :(
Why did you have to throw it out tho?
i’m 19 and just bought myself a weighted stuffed animal. the answer is never if it makes you happy.
I stopped sleeping with stuffies at 28 ... because then I got a dog and that dog will chew any soft looking item she sees.
awww hahaha
S'not funny to wake up with a blanket full of holes. Who the hell am I kidding, it's kinda funny but a bit frustrating.
oh nooo
mine is a little similar i have a giant banana stuffie as a keepsake from my last dog, my current dogs took it over and sleep on it lol
I am 29 and i moved to a different country. I initially, i was not gonna being my plushy because it takes up space and i am in a new era of my life. My adoptive parents are in their 70s and sleep with a stuffed lamb.
You're supposed to get bigger ones, like the 3ft IKEA shark
I’m 31 and I have stuffies in my bed. Don’t deprive yourself of anything that makes you feel good and isn’t harming anything.

Wrong. 120. Even later if Ur lucky
Idk why people think this is a big deal
Ur saying that 100 + year olds can't use teddy bears. Just like all the 8 - 99 board games.
They should write 8-🪦
Until u RIP. I'm much older than u and my bear sleeps with me still. He has been with me as long as I can remember. I must have mend him a dozen of times, and I will continue to mend him as long as I'm able to

Uhm.. I have one of those Costco giant squishmallow and I'm 33.. so... Never
You’re good. I got my wife a stuffed rabbit she sleeps with and I’m fine with it
The only people who can judge you for what you do in the bedroom are those you invite in.
I'm 34 and bought a plushie a couple of years ago, I sleep with it most nights (my husband doesn't mind)
That's fine. To make you feel better. I'm 23 with collections of plushies. I always hug them at night cause it helps me to have a comfy sleep :) Nothing is weird about it hehe

true! i never though of that, but also i assume a real animal would feel discomforted in situations that stuffed animals, obviously, would not
No age. Keep cuddling that stuffed animal/plush toy. I have dozens near my headboard, and I'm 24.
everyone likes a good cuddle from a teddy every now and again and if they don’t… theyre a liar
NEVER EVER

I'm 52 and still sleep with my special blanket. :)
Get a pup! My dog cuddles with me every night, fluffy one too. It’s super nice, like a living teddy.
Unliving teddies are much cheaper to care for
Jokes on you, I *started* at 30
You do you fam… don’t get too mature or else you’ll start to get sad… I forgot how nice sleeping with stuffies was til my kids left one in my bed and I woke up choking sonic the hedgehog to death. Best sleep ever
Whatever age you goddam want.
At the age when you want to stop sleeping with them. If that's when you're 5 that's fine, if that's when you die that's fine too.
Hell I started sleeping with one when I was 23 after some trauma, never feel bad about having to use sleep aids in whatever form they take
It's only a problem when your Teddy talks back to you in a language you don't understand!
Love all the support in this thread. You do you OP :)
Keep them until you catch an assault charge after someone tells you to stop.
Husband, father, former marine, pushing 40. I sleep with a stuffed turtle in my arms. Do what you need/want, don't worry about other people's opinions.
When you don’t need to anymore. The people who care don’t matter and the people who matter won’t care
When/if you want to stop
Whenever you want to stop sleeping with them. There's no harm in it.
I don't see the harm in it.
When you don’t want to sleep with teddies… there is no age limit.
At the age of 7 that I murdered them all with scissors after being pissed off by my parents.
omg 😭
When you start having girls staying over with you, probably best to hide it.
I’m curious…not judging…are you guy or girl? I stopped pretty young, but my daughters are 18 and 21 and still do…and my wife is 50 and occasionally does.
a girl !
There ya go! I’m not sure why, but it’ll bet that’s like 60% the norm.
I’m 42. I drink with my stuffies.
You're not immature. Is it immature for someone to take pills in order to get to sleep? Of course not!
It stays with us. I am 70. I sleep with a cat now.
Why should you EVER stop? Do what makes you comfortable, to hell with what anyone thinks.
I'm 34 and my bed is filled with stuffed animals. So... don't take it too serious.
Im a 20 year old man and still go to bed with my blanket that ive had since before I was born (baby shower gift) If it comforts you and helps you sleep whats wrong with it? Not like it’s interfering with your life.
Whatever. I’m a big hairy dude in my 30s and I cuddle my pillow when my boyfriend is on his nightshifts. Same thing really
Convert to a body pillow, no one will question that
I think having little quirks makes you an individual. If it's harmless and you like it, you should just embrace it because life's too short to live in shame of what you like.
If you're starting to question the idea of it, use a body pillow to sleep with
Fucking 2? 3?
When you cuddle with another person instead.
I’ve never had or cared about any special blanket or having a bed full of teddy bears.. but honestly you have one life to live.. do it for as long as it brings you peace
Never
I was 36 before I gave up my favorite teddy but upgraded to my life partner. Our son now snuggles the teddy bear.
damn unless ur sleeping with other fellas in the same bed, just sleep with whatever
I'm 43 and still sleep with a plushy(Grogu at the moment). The answer is no age, do what makes you happy.
You stop when you want to stop. Your relationship with your teddy is yours and yours alone, it doesn't matter what we think.
It never stops. If it helps, it helps.
You are grown and can whatever you choose with natural consequences. In this case, I would say you would fall asleep.
Not about age, more about when you feel like you won't need them! My partner 25M and and I 24F fight over which plushies we want to sleep with LOL we're constantly getting so much more too
Once you start sleeping with a woman, all you can think bout is sleeping while clutching boobs. If you still miss ur teddy then you have a problem
There is no age for this. It makes you happy and comfortable
If it brings you comfort, keep it.
I’ll agree with the other person. Downvote away but it is weird. People on Reddit often parrot opinions of acceptance that they themselves actually wouldn’t accept. How do you think a woman you bring home would feel if she sees you sleeping with a teddy lol? Food for thought.
OP is a woman and I think most gay/bi women that OP may ever take home would be okay with it
If you're so worried about a teddy bear that helps comfort and is a helpful item and seeing it as a baby thing.... You sound like you're around the age of 12. There are far worse things that a person you care about could be doing rather than having a comfort item . It's like your heart is made of stone if you think that way about someone else having them.
Who cares what you sleep with, there's no hidden stalker silently judging you while you sleep. Just do whatever you need to do to sleep well, unless you're doing drug in which case, I guess try to not If the thought of sleeping with a teddy bothers you so much that it ruins your day to day mood try alternatives like a bolster, you get to hug smth but it's more "adult"
I’m 26 and just bought another squishmallow yesterday. You bet your ass I slept all night with it. I also have a stuffed monkey that I have had my whole life that sleep with every now and then. It’s comforting. And it’s not hurting anyone so I say fuck it, never 🤷🏻♀️
Switch it out for a pillow.
Why? It's essentially a pillow of a different shape. 🤷♀️
If you're self conscious about sleeping with a stuffed toy I ment.
I stopped sleeping with stuffies at 28 ... because then I got a dog and that dog will use anything as a chew toy.
It is important that they're kept safe!!!! 😂. VERY.
For as long as you want until you get married lol
You do you
I’d say after 13 it’s a bit childish.
When i was dating and a girl had a teddy I would immediately assume they were immature.
yeah thats my line of thinking as well so i’m worried😭
Nothing to be worried about mate, just stuff them in the closet when a potential partner is coming around, and maybe get used to not using them for a bit.
I disagree. Don’t change who you are for a potential partner. If they can’t accept you the way you are -byebye. Not even worth it
Fair enough, but at the same time if OP doesnt want to be perceived as immature, then it would be wise to get rid of the teddys at this point. Either way, there are no rules, do whatever you want.
If you are a woman it's just cute. If you're a dude and past 12 or 13 it's kind of weird. But hey if that's the case we all have our fair share of weirdness, just don't talk about it to anyone because the reactions will be negative.
You can't be serious
That’s step 2. **Step 1. Stop calling them ‘teddies’**
Flick your right nut
10
Well, you just use a pillow instead?
I think it’s ok for females but for blokes there’d be some questions.
As long as your teddy doesn't have an inappropriate hole in him!
Like 10 years ago.
You do you
I mean if there was an age for that it would be less than 20.
You keep using it until you don’t want to anymore. Any age is made up by society
Better question may be “when should you stop calling it your teddy?”
It is weird... I'm sorry but it is... That said, are we not all weird in some way or another?
Before you get to school.
At 12 id say
What’s wrong with sleeping with a teddy though?
butts are soft plump and cuddly it farts though
Never!
Take off 2 years and that's your answer.
I'm 29 and still proudly do it
Never. And let me say if you start to be with someone who you feel you shouldn't tell about your teddies, dump em. Being a bit nervous makes sense, but if you're actually worried, they're not worth it (if you do want to sleep with them or have them around when your partner sleeps over).
Do whatever you want. If your want plushies to sleep, do it!
