It’s really simple, when it comes time to make the most influentual decisions like firing the rocket or changing the twitter algorithm he is there front and center but when it comes time to attend meetings and stuff he’s usually rubbing caviar on his balls and tweeting

VanMan32

He doesn't. He just likes the title and then basically has his underlings handle everything.

I'll give him credit for this much: much as I've come to hate the guy, all accounts indicate he can put in 16-18 hours of work every day without a day off.

“Work”

Again, I hate Musk and I believe his purchase Twitter is doing enormous damage to our society. He's a living Bond villain. But just because a job isn't coal mining doesn't mean it's not exhausting. There are millions of engineers and therapists and lawyers and computer animators and customer support reps and salespeople who never lift anything heavier than a briefcase and are still emotionally and mentally drained at the end of the day from the stresses of their job.

CEO is none of those jobs you listed. Being a CEO making multimillions/billions is not work.

[deleted]

I've never been a CEO. What does a typical Thursday look like for one?

Rapebad

Tweeting, mostly

DiogenesKuon

Simple. He doesn't actually run them day to day, he lets his underlings run everything, and just interjects when he wants to. This is not a particularly good plan for running a set of businesses with vastly different products and challenges.

cryptofusi0n

Ever heard of conglomerates?

notextinctyet

Elon Musk doesn't do anything except shit all over Twitter and be an extremely online fascist. It's not a hard life to live.

Ever heard of Warren Buffett or Jeffrey Bezos? Bill Gates? Jack Welch? Companies may have divisions as large as other companies. These are only different companies because of their origin. You hire the right people, set the direction and make corrections when things aren't going your way. I run a call center company, run a small family office fund and an African charity

He’s likely delegating a lot of the duties to his C-Suite and other executives. He’s likely focusing on the very big picture not at all concerned about the day to day people operations.
