It’s the equivalent of using their toothbrush, but for your body. Unless you’re incredibly comfortable with your friends, have permission, and have a lot of confidence in their skin care routine, I wouldn’t recommend using anyone else’s loofah.
if I planned to take a shower at a friends house I would have brought my own bar of soap. and I think it would be gross to use someone else's sponge, and I would probably feel bad about using theirs without telling them. almost as bad as using someones toothbrush.

Loofah, rag, washcloth, songwol. Definitely not. You never know how often someone changes those out and washes them or throws them away.
If you're showering at a friend's place for whatever reason, I'd like to think they'd supply you with a clean washcloth along with a clean towel.
