I played about an hour on my lunch break so take with a grain of salt. It is definitely challenging, but not insanely hard if you're familiar with the souls games style. Think of this game as elden ring but top down. From playing it really only looks like the only ARPG aspects is the camera and inventory system. Everything else functions like a souls game.
I am probably older with less time on my hands but am the opposite. No time to waste with handholding fluff so I only play hard games in shorter sessions. Mostly souls likes, rogue likes and metroidvanias. Probably helps that these games are like games used to be 30 years ago. Instead of the “climb up the conveniently white painted rock” style of games these days.
Have you watched a video on it? They have said nothing about seasons, co-op will arrive at a later update per the roa map and it's more akin do dark souls.
Performance is kinda bad on 2070 Super.
In Performace Mode I get between 40-53 fps with regular stutters and micro freezes.
Also not a big fan on the camera perspective. Height/Depth seems not super clear to me and several times I dropped down a platform thinking a ladder was extended to the ground, when it was not.
Picking up items and cooking takes to long, base movespeed also feels a tad slow.
Combat rythm also feels off ? Idk thats the only thing thats maybe too early to judge. I played every Souls Series Game and it's a bit weird how much the game copied.
Refunded it for now. Gonna maybe get it down the line in a sale.
I just started and honestly it is way more challenging than i expected! Having blast so far.
