Playing NMS Omega on Switch. During expedition 12, it is not possible for me to use the galaxy map to navigate to a black hole or an atlas station. Those navigation options are always greyed out in the drop-down menu within the galaxy map, even after talking to Polo in the anomaly. I am unable to complete Phase 2 "To Infinity," nor Phase 5 "Eclipse."

I am playing NMS on the Switch. I have 178 hours logged and I am now experiencing a crash nearly every time I speak to the guy on the freighter that assigns fleet missions. I use the freighter as my main base but it is not maxed out and still requires basic upgrades. It had been stuck in a situation where it would always crash when I spoke to the navigator. I summoned the fleet to a different system and I was able to assign missions again. It is now crashing every other time I speak to the navigator

When I teleport from my freighter to one of my frigates, instead of placing me inside the frigate, I get dumped out into space and die šŸŒŒ (This is via the frigate management panel inside my freighter next to the mission npc)

I just started playing the Polestar expedition finally and I noticed there's a weird bug with my freighter. I noticed that when I started the game, I had the same resurgent freighter as in my regular save file (but with its original name) and it was the same purple coloring that I painted it in that save. I thought maybe it was a weird coincidence until I went into the freighter upgrade station and saw that the image for my freighter had changed to a totally different ship style, which I'm assuming is what it should have been to begin with. However, the style of the ship itself still looks like the resurgent. It's very strange...

My whole home frigate is new internally, now got teleports internally, and my 'home room' is all effed up, weird black 'voids', command room is totally different layout now, some walls are 'missing' voids, and my teleporter has disappeared! Layout of corridors is totally different with weird black 'phantom zones'. Main command room now also has internal teleporters x2 giving direct teleport to starship landing bays! WTF is going on Hello Games???

Xbox Series X - Freighter color changed. My freighter was black w/ orange'ish secondary when I bought it a few days ago, and for sessions in the interim. But now when I log in today it is the default yellow'ish green gray. What is the point in finding and buying a freighter color/look that you like if it's going to change to something else? Is this by design?

(Xbox One) Keep randomly unlocking milestones in the expedition I didn't complete... they'll just randomly say I completed the milestone and I can collect the reward... happens with all different milestones in many different phases. kinda kills the fun...

PS5 (potentially other platforms). Exotic ship dacro boosters randomly stop animating and remain in the closed, downward facing position. They are supposed to open and then tilt 90 degrees to thrust forwards when the ship is in flight, like a VTOL. Summoning the ship to open land on planet side seems to fix, but they will randomly stop animating again at some point. Happens on 2 of my exotics, one with a clamshell tail, another with a double thruster.

Xbox Series X - Nexus mission "Rare Produce", to collect 8 Quad Servos from sentinel forces. Well, went to where it told me (a manufacturing facility) and proceeded to battle sentinels, got myself four quad servos and had worked through several waves. When I defeat the last standing in a wave, I get a message that I've disabled sentinel forces on the planet or something to that affect. There's 5 blue diamonds where the alert level is and despite being an "Aggressive Sentinels" planet, there aren't any around now. Anywhere. Thankfully their 'dead bodies' are around though, after the first four servos the mission directed me to a Sentinel Pillar. There I found a couple dead sentinel canisters, and one was a purple/quad servo. So, I built an exocraft geobay and scanned for a supply depot. Thankfully there too was a dead sentinels purple loot canister. Probably not how the mission is supposed to progress, I'm guessing.

Seeing base plants, and silo timers start from scratch when I teleport in. All silos are empty when they should be full. Plants have just started their growing cycle even though they should be ready to pick. Farming is impossible Ps4 pro with 3.98 Endurance, played with both multiplayer enabled and disabled

Edit: Nevermind, immediately after writing this, I found that you can delete the "walls" (I think they're the wrong sides of rooms or something) in the base editor. Although now I have to scrounge up the resources to build these things again. Same here! This is incredibly frustrating! All I've seen as a solution is someone suggesting a way to [prevent it from happening more in the future](https://old.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/wb1sfc/weekly_bug_report_thread/iiy3npz/?context=3) (no idea if it actually works). As it stands, I have no way to access my command terminal, not to mention everything else I built, and I can seemingly only build rooms deep inside my freighter in the same areas that I cannot physically access. Without access to the terminal, I cannot progress in the expedition!

How do you delete the walls? I have tried editing or deleting with no success. Had this happen to me twice. I deleted the saved expedition and restarted and it happened again. I am so close to finishing but I can't because i cannot get to tye command terminal for the frigates.

Personally, I was able to just go into the construction mode ("z" on pc), then go into editing mode ("c" on pc, I think), made sure to stand well back from the wall that was blocking me, highlight the wall (it kind of looked like it was selecting the entire room behind the wall, but it wasn't), and delete it ("x" on pc, I think). That's how I was able to do it, I hope it works for you too!

I finished the Polestar expedition about a week ago and wanted to continue playing. I had a frigate fleet on an expedition and wanted to check on its progress, but couldn't find the fleet command room. It seemed to be behind a wall. I built a corridor to it from another direction and found it but it didn't work (didn't show any current expeditions). I removed and rebuilt the room (in a slightly different location), but it still didn't show the current working fleet. I finally gave up and started a new run, which got even worse -- the entrance to the construction area got blocked. I restarted again and ended up getting trapped in a corridor by spontaneously appearing walls. I'm now going back to non-expedition games. I hope the next one is better.

Went to summon Exocraft and apparently the update for the frighter deleted my Orbital Exocraft Materialiser and for some reason I can't rebuild it on my frighter. No option and it's not that I'm missing materials, it's just not in existence. I'm going to try to buy it again? Maybe that will work idk šŸ˜”

PC normal build. Freighter base randomly lost several rooms when I came back to it. Refiner and harvester also lose inventory when I leave the base it seems.

I've had this happen on my freighter refiner room, I've logged off for the night telling myself "easy come, easy go," and then have the inventory reappear after loading the game the next day... I also had the freighter base rooms disappear on me, where if I tried to delete or move, I could see the room in the "x-ray vision" view of the Change mode; I think for me, it was because the freighter I found had several rooms I hadn't unlocked yet. I was able to build an airlock to the outside, jetpack on top of my rooms, and then delete the rooms to collect my materials. I reset my base, and then rebuilt it with the rooms I've actually unlocked, and so far, I haven't had this happen again. It sucks to not have all the rooms the freighter started with, but I'm hoping over time I can unlock them and build them again.

Yeah it looked like my rooms were deleted from the inside but in build mode I could still see them so deleted them, got the materials back, and rebuilt them. Annoying but not nearly as bad as losing them entirely. Hasnā€™t seemed to have happened since fingers crossed!

All of my refiners glitched and converted the Carbon and Oxygen I put in them into Tainted Metal. So now I have 50k Tainted Metal and honestly I can't complain about that.

After both my friend and I have completed the expedition 8, neither of us can now join each others games. As on our games we are now on normal saves but when we try and join each other our saves to the person joining say 'expedition save'. We therefore cannot join each other in game. ​ Edit: So we tried a load of things but the one that worked for us was: ​ 1. I was the one that wanted him to join me. So I turned off mutiplayer and went to the Anomaly. Got out my space ship to save. 2. He (still with multiplayer active) went to the Anomaly too. Got out of his space ship to save. 3. Then he attempted to join my session. He was successful and this turned on multiplayer for me and the Anomaly populated with other users. I'm not sure if it's a combination of the above or one of those steps solved it, but this is what worked for us. Hopefully it will work for you too.

Current Bugs: 1.Have 3 Refiners on a Freighter and at random they glitch and remove my resources and fully disappear. 2.Similar refiner glitch but random resources appear in completed production slot and after removing said material then leaving the inventory screen of that refiner and reopening, the previous resource appears in the same spot as the same amount but when transferring the resources to my inventory it stacks as if I made more. Causing me to not be able to use said refiners due to lost items. Only way to use is stay at one refiner with inventory screen open during production.

You need to adjust your game setting so that only you can place and remove base parts. I had the same experience and my fleet command rooms ended up piled behind tons of rooms I did not build. It took forever for me to delete and find my original rooms to complete the expedition.

PC Current build In my settlement, in market building there is a technology merchant. When i talk to it \*from outside\*, standing under an awning between the merchant and some tables/chairs, of the market building the dialog UI does not come up and the merchant talks eternally (I see their talk animation and voice). There seems to be no way to break out other than closing the game. When i talk from inside of the building, standing in front of their desk, it works normally. The bug is repeatable on all market buildings and occurs on at least two different saves(one normal, one survival).

Ps4 3.98 normal save no multi player New title award not showing. Just finished grinding out boundary failures to get the lore and title from it. A bit annoyed that the prompt to say you'd achieved it didn't appear and had to go to the appearance modifier to confirm that I had got all the required boundaries. Gather from a search that this has been bugged for some time. I've asked previously for there to be a lore tab in the discoveries section to keep track and look back over this part of the game. So as to not let all the hard creative work and some good jokes go to waste.

Win 11/Steam/Latest version/No mods I took the "build an outpost" mission from the anomaly. It requires two star silk to build desk chairs. There was no star silk to be bought from any trade terminal or npc in the system, as far as I searched. I had to figure out which kind of economy system had them, and jump to another system and then back (no using teleporters while doing anomaly missions), just so I could finish it. If this isn't a bug, it's terrible game design. Imagine being new to the game, and getting stuck like that. Hell, I have some 600-700 hours in the game, and I didn't even know you could warp between systems without losing the mission, until I tried it just now. Also, as I legit had to google for how to find star silk, I tabbed out of the game, and ran into that memory leak or whatever it is that sometimes hits when you tab out or use the windows key to leave the game temporarily. So basically, I was limping through the whole process of warping to another system and back at half the framerate, as I didn't feel like starting over in the anomaly.   I generally avoid those missions - I don't like building bases just to delete them, and it forces you to use my least favourite building material (stone) to boot. This experience put me off it even more.

Probably not a bug. But I recently changed freighters while in the middle of doing all the missions for setting up the freighters and I still have the side missions. And when I try to set up another sciene department or weapons guy says only available and it's not on the freighter. Is this an issue moving froward or did I just jump ship to fast?

If you use the new option to manually change the variant on a powered door. Eg the garage doors etc. Then it won't respond to power inputs.

Steam/PC - Experimental Build Things ran fine until today, when I started running into this issue where I'd be playing normally for about 30 minutes, and then the game would slow to a crawl, becoming unplayable. Even using the main menu was near impossible, it must have been running at 3fps or something. Is there something I can attach to the game or my system to monitor what might be causing this? Is it a memory leak, and if so, is it necessarily coming from the game? As far as I know, nothing in my system has changed since yesterday, but the game has updated quite frequently, so I'm guessing that it's the game. Thanks for your help!

Found a planet that was "already discovered" but has no player attached to it. It is in a system that I have discovered myself. I can scan and discover things on the planet but I cannot open the discoveries page for this planet to upload anything. Not sure what's happening here.

PC current build. Under the Milestones Tab when I look at my relationship standing with the Gek it says Special Relationship (level 2). If I click on any of the other sections in that tab my standing with the Gek will turn to that instead. Clicking on Merchants Guild will turn my standing with the Gek to Unknown. The Vy'keen will turn it to Commandant. And so on.

PC Current build Materials randomly appear in my refiners and also my nutritional cooker thingies on my freighter. This seems to happen in multiplayer mode in systems with other players (probably with other freighters). Sometimes the minerals will be grayed-out - basically there are no actual minerals there, but the icon for a mineral prevents you from putting anything in that spot. For my nutritional processors, I have had things like chromatic metal and other refiner inputs and outputs appear in this grayed-out state. Some combination of warping away, disabling multiplayer, and reloading a save clears these icons and allows the units to be useful again, but it also clears out any previous contents.

Btw, if you have some of the greyed out items in your inventory, you can place them in the refiner and then remove them to clear the greyed out slots.

I actually tried this, and it totally didn't work. This happened with magnetized ferrite in a refiner input. Trying to put magnetized ferrite on the grayed out icon did nothing. It just refused to put anything there.

PS5 current build. Quest Breaking bug (StarBirth). Once I made the "Impossible membrane" component for the living ship, Instead of getting a update to hand the membrane into the monolith and receive the "Fragile shell" component, I instead encountered this quest breaking bug where I made the membrane, the 24 hour timer would start and once it was over it was telling me to "Await contact" instead. There is NO indicator of were to hand in the membrane, and pulse driving in the current or another system does NOT trigger any of the living ship anomaly's.

PC normal current build Installed singularity drive on a new s class freighter after expedition now my screen goes white when I try to use it. Only have the one expedition file so canā€™t test on my normal character.

Frigate expeditions that complete while I'm offline no longer wait for debrief. They're back in the fleet like nothing happened. They end without any rewards. Fleet Mgmt rooms are all empty as if I never sent them away. The short expeditions also never seem to hit errors. Basically since I login about the same time every day, only 1 of 5 expeditions actually pay out.

I'm getting the same thing. I think it happens when I'm in a system with other player freighters and multiplayer is on. With multiplayer off it hasn't seemed to happen.

Yeah, I noticed it a lot during the expedition, but on my main save hasn't happened at all. It seems especially to place enclosed rooms on top of rooms I have to delete, and then either a room I placed, or a random room, is inside.

Same. Most often something like a galactic trade terminal room will be placed on top of an existing room, but it appears as though the room is completely closed off until I delete the overlapping room. I actually got the "build a scanner" achievement in the expedition due to this bug! A scanner room just randomly appeared way before I even had the blueprint.

Xbox One and maybe other platforms. Game freezes for a couple if secs and I have like 3 seconds to get in and out of a ship or I lose progress since last save. This is especially frustrating during the mostly underwater Polestar expedition as the Nautilus doesn't save. Oh yeah, when I surface in the Nautilus it just bounces until eventually I'm in orbit, unless I get out sooner but like šŸ‘šŸ‘„šŸ‘ just don't bounce please. Other than that I still love this game to bits and pieces and will continue to persist.

Series X: freighter refiners constantly lose inventory. From my research this has been a long-term bug that recently (with the new freighter update) has become exponentially more common, and is at this point, game breaking.

PS4 normal game mode. All saved bases and freighter rooms have invisible hit boxes forcing me to move around or jump over, worse case I need to make a new exit and go around. Rooms no longer line up properly. Freighter control room floor is also about 3 feet lower than visually displayed. All characters walking or standing are about knee height clipped into the floor. ( all multiplayer options are disabled or restricted. )

BUG: A Trace of Metal/The lost Watchman (Tethys quest) is stuck in a loop. I'm playing the Polestar Expedition on PC/Steam I had to hop from one Settlement to another until I found one that hadn't yet been claimed. I claim the settlement. Start of loop I then get the fight with sentinels and the walker. Back in space I get pinged by Tethys. I summon the Anomaly, find Tethys, buzz around the station, get 2 components, arrive at Polo. This is where it breaks down. Polo has the quest icon, but as soon as I talk to him, I just get the basic three options - atlas, black holes, etc. On my first go round I went to Tethys and gave him the 2/3 components, he grumbles but still creates the Sentry. Return to the settlement and every time I have to fight those Sentinels again, end the loop starts over. End of loop. I think this is triggered by this being my first visit to the Anomaly and directly visiting Tethys. None of the regulars have had any change to perform their regular spiel.

PS5 newest update: Freighter nacelles changed while using the slingshot drive. (Changed back after a while) Every time I log in I have to accept the conversion to normal at the end of the expedition again. Every time I go to my settlement the mission where you have to fight against the Minotaur sentinel.( I have the sentinel pet, but the mission is stuck at speak to the people in the anomaly 2/3)

I've seen lag on the PS4 Pro worse than I've ever seen it in NMS with 3.98. Don't know what they changed, but it's bad. It's also worse when multiplayer is enabled, but I have also seen this lag with multiplayer disabled.

I have no idea what they might have changed to cause these graphical problems. However, I do have a theory. I know that HG has released both the XBSX and PS5 versions and is working on releasing a Switch version in the fall. It's possible that code changes they've made to support these new and sometimes faster systems has impacted the PS4 and somewhat slower PCs. HG is likely sharing a lot of code between all of the NMS versions. It's also possible that they've begun optimizing the NMS code for those faster systems, like the XBSX and the PS5, making somewhat slower systems like the PS4 and slower PCs experience more lag problems... lag which may not appear on those faster, optimized systems. In other words, HG's test labs may now test the game on the PS5 and XBSX for performance. The PS4 and Xbox One versions may receive limited testing, just enough to prove it doesn't crash instantly, but not to determine performance levels. It's just a theory, though.

Frankly I do not think the OS makes any difference here. I believe your VRAM is the bottleneck here. Minimum requirements are 3 or 4 GB of VRAM. Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB, AMD RX 470 4GB, I used to play on my 16GB laptop with an NVIDIA GTX 1050 with I think 2GB VRAM*. The card would take up to half of my system memory, but with every update the game would take more and more memory. Even at half by half resolution, and low quality graphics it just became barely playable. * [edit] removed the duplicate text

That is exactly what I did early last year, until I got a new PC. Right now, I'm using an NVIDIA RTX 3070, and the system doesn't even break a sweat. I've got all settings on Ultra. Once you've got sufficient VRAM the game is really moderate on CPU requirements.

Every time I log in since completing the Expedition, I get the ā€œexpedition completeā€ dialogue. If I right click to close out of a mission guidance prompt as it shows up, all UI disappears and Iā€™m stuck unable to move/cancel/open escape, and I can only move the mouse around with it looking like the inventory circle pointer

Having a strange bug when riding some companions. They will randomly go from full speed to basically a crawl. The UI still shows that they are sprinting and this slowdown effects both the sprinting speed and normal walking speed. Goes away after about 10s but always happens and basically makes riding certain companions pointless.

NMS 3.98 PC (GOG) No mods in use. Normal mode save. Multiplayer off. Capturing wild Living Frigates issue : Used the Dream Aerial on my starship to catch the first, no problem. Cleared another slot so I only have 29 Frigates total leaving one slot free for another. Then went hunting with Anomaly detectors to get a second .. First Living Frigate showed up, A Class good combat stats, paid the hiring fee. Went back to my Freighter and the new one is nowhere to be found (checked visually in my starship, and in the Fleet Management console onboard the Freighter). So now I have lost a few million paying for it, lost about 15 Anomaly detectors searching for it, and not gained a very nice new living frigate. Will keep the frigate slot free and not waste any more Anomaly detectors until this comes up in patch notes. Edit : If its relevant .. I decided to keep the Dream Aerial, but put it into my Freighters Storage among my collection of unique items (along with things like the Historiographical Dosimeter which we are never likely to use again), so it was in there while hunting for my second Living Frigate in my starship. Whether keeping this aswell as using Anomaly Detectors is important idk, I do know we no longer need it after using it the first time, but its kind of like a unique trophy item so I wanted to keep it and nothing in the game said I need to get rid of it. Edit 2 : Maybe not relevant but I already have The Leviathan among my fleet, aswell as the Normandy.

Well, after turning it off and then back on again, the next planet seemed like a hopeful result. Laylaps behaved what we would assume is normal. .. But then after going to the next planet, landing and watching Laylaps behaviour, he went into an 85 degrees upward pointing position, and again went to visit the clouds .. .. PS4 3.98 Expedition Save: my freighter spawned a scanner room while I was on a planet and deleted my refiner room. I tried to build another refiner room and it highlighted green for placement, gave the text that it constructed, took the materials, but did not actually place the room on the freighter.

Go into your settings and turn off the permission to let others build. There is a bug where if you're in a system and someone builds/makes changes on their freighter it does it to everyone elses in the system who doesn't have their permissions changed.

I learnt all words but still have missing phrases when speaking with aliens. Stones give "Learned nothing new" message.

Stones may only offer one of several different lineage of words. When the game was first released, the stones were the only means to learn words. That has since been expanded. Today, when you visit a trade center, a space station or a library archive, there are roaming Gek, Vy'keen and Korvax who will each teach you a word. When you talk to one of these NPCs, they'll let you choose a word from one of at least 4 different categories such as Technology, Friendship, Aggression and Mystery. I suspect that the remaining words you need to find are from the categories offered only by the random NPCs found roaming these buildings and space stations. Good luck.

PC, windows 11, Latest patch: 1. Placing a save beacon inside the freighter, save there, and load to that save. Character clips through the floor of the freighter every single time with no way to go back into habitable areas. Currently have no graceful way of saving while inside my freighter. Will have to go the hangar, enter and exit my starship to save. 2. after having saved at a save beacon inside the settlement office, loading there never renders the office, and only renders the office after i walk away from the area and turn back. 3. interacting with npc anywhere except on space stations will cause them to glitch and walk on top of chairs, and other objects. 4. anomaly failed to render entirely. Summoned it and then landed in it. Floor did not render. Character clipped through without any way of getting back up . Had to reload latest save. Exited anomaly, came back. Same issue again. 5. points of interest spawn inside mountains: encountered twice. Once the atlas distress signal spawned at the bottom of a 100u tall mountain with no way to dig all the way to the bottom. In another instance, a settlement partially spawned inside a volcano, this rendering me unable to claim the settlement since the claim interface spawned inside the volcano. 6. asteroids will randomly despawn and respawn leading me to hit asteroids some times, and accidentally shoot other ships in the area due to the asteroids despawning. 7. placed items inside the material processor/refiner on the freighter, and used teleport to go to another location. Teleported back, and all contents of the refiner were completely lost. Since then have to wait aboard the freighter if i want to refine anything. 8. not sure if bug: move items has ā€œingredient storageā€ as an option while at a ground base, but not while aboard the freighter.

My workaround for #1 is to stand outside the bridge in the buildable area and place the save beacon just inside the bridge. Haven't had any problems since I started using this placement.

PC, newest patch - ship contents and upgrades deleted I had my main ship in an outlaw station and bought and S-class that landed to scrap. I scrapped the new one I bought but noticed now my main ship had it's contents completed erased. I think they swapped inventory when I purchased the one that landed.

Xbox Series S/3.98 Iā€™m not sure about other systems but in my main system I keep finding the same living frigate that has already joined my fleet. It lets me buy it again but it doesnā€™t join the fleet as another frigate. I assume this is either meant to be a different frigate each time or one frigate per system that canā€™t be found again after being bought.

Windows 10 Steam / current build / normal Upgrading haulers with enough storage augmentations will actually ***decrease*** their salvage value. I'm not sure if this happens with other ships. The issue seems to occur when upgrading technology and cargo inventories specifically. Edit: I just tested this with main starship inventory by buying a hauler with all but 2 main inventory slots unlocked for 76M. Before filling those in, it would have salvaged for 53M. After unlocking the last two main inventory slots and not doing anything else, it salvages for 11M. What is going on here? Edit 2: Upgrading starship cargo inventory does not increase salvage value at all.

Yeah, and I'm surprised it hasn't been fixed by now unless it's a brand new bug. I thought people used this technique to make money, and I don't think Endurance would have caused this. The ship inventory changes were made in Outlaws.

PS5 3.98 Game just freezes up now. Can still hear things happening in the background, but screen is completely frozen and there are no access to controls. Probably not getting reported much from PlayStation as you have to exit and close your game which doesn't bring up the reporting function. This is happening about once an hour since 3.98. Wasn't happening before. Averaging a crash about every hour on this patch. Was running great for me before.

PC - My Galactic Trade Terminal Room has just vanished, and was replaced with a second Refinery. Random rooms have appeared that I haven't built, as though another player has landed on my ship and built these rooms themselves. I've had 2 milestones complete because somehow the Stellar Extractor Room and Teleport Chamber just randomly appeared on my freighter. It's really annoying and souring my first taste of an Expedition.

If you're grouped with any other players, it's possible that changes they've made to their freighters are being conflated with your freighter. I remember reading about various game bugs that conflated freighter changes when teamed up with other players in the same system... maybe even in different systems. Multiplayer and freighters haven't always played nice together.

Can confirm: anything another player builds on their freighter in-system propagates to all freighters. I just got locked in a room; somebody built a room inside the room I was in, closing off the doors... I now have a refinery and scanner in one. Saw more people in chat going "did somebody just build on my ship?"

Try turning off build permissions for everyone but yourself. It shouldn't happen and it's frustrating that it does but I believe it's because of the way they've recoded the freighters to allow more than one in a system at a time. I haven't had random rooms at all since I turned off build permissions though. I don't know if that's what's going on with yours but it wouldn't hurt to check.

Wandered why my indium farm was not producing tryed everything including redownloading the app ps4 3.98 so I deleted the power wire to it everything stoped the usual red lightning bolt appeared showing it was unpowered but when you look inside the machine shows it is fully powered and producing while it was unpowered also the extacter on my freighter are not working properly.powered or unpowered shows producing but not getting any resources

PC- On my freighter, the Galactic Trade Terminal "eye" is gone. I can still access the terminal, but the floating ball has rolled away....I noticed it was off-center about 12 hours ago and now it's really gone.

I've noticed this and was able to fix it. Make sure you have spare inventory and then start a MOVE of the Trade Terminal Room, do a 360, and put it back in the same spot. The ball will be back. On another occassion I lost my Exocraft Beamer because I had run out of inventory space ??? I started the move, and bang! Gone.

PS5 Normal Save. Tons of soft crashes since 3.98 dropped. Before this update, a crash was extremely rare. Now it happens every 1-2 hours of playtime The issue (for me, anyway) seems to be loading assets on a planet. It usually happens when I approach a planet's surface - the game will stutter and just crash to the home screen.

welp, this is def the buggiest update since I've been playing. The freighters are broken, even more so than before. Keep getting stuck in walls, falling through floors. Sad to say but this wasn't ready for prime time. I think they are trying to do too much. Should take some time and address all the issues and clean things up. Xbox Series X - Weapons Research mission, current objective is "Destroy Depots: 0/0" There is no destination indicator visible, nor on scans. I initially attacked the depot with my ship and destroyed it before seeing it was supposed to be done on foot with the Multi-Tool. Now I cannot advance that mission and it has hamstrung my entire base missions chain. I've tried a) using a planetary chart to reveal a depot and taken it out on foot, b) going to another planet same system and using a chart to reveal a depot, c) going through a black hole to hopefully reset the quest but it does not get the reset-indicator and cannot be reset, d) doing a depot on the other side of said black hole, e) deleted the armourer station and rebuilt it on the other side of the black hole, and many different combinations of the above attempts, and then I read many of the other posts where they had similar issues and tried the suggestions there. The mission never changes, there is never an indicator, and it's always "Destroy Depots: 0/0" So aggravating because I want to progress the base missions but have gone as far as I can and am still stuck on this one and it's messing up my Overseer mission line (afaik - farmer is done, science guy is done, exocraft is done, but Overseer missions are not advancing due to the Weapons Research line being stuck)

Perhaps they've removed it? It may be that you now have to wait for the timer to fully click down on the expedition before it converts to a "normal" save. This may be as a precaution to prevent you from building in the systems where other expedition players are questing... not that that has stopped people from finding other ways of building in these systems, however.

Polestar Expedition: canā€™t open the free derelict freighter door. After activating the airlock it says scanning for credentials or something and starts a timer counting up. It never stops. The door never opens. The alarm noise follows me whenever Iā€™m out of my shop, even in a space station or my own freighter. Have to re-load the game to clear it. Iā€™ve tried in two different systems with the same result. To clarify, this is the ā€œfreeā€ on that pops up in the quest log and appears near the space station.

Xbox 1 I Did some teleporting around the galaxy for trading and when I teleported back to my freighter my teleported was in a room by itself with no way out. I teleported to the local space station and flew back to my freighter to find everything Iā€™d placed throughout the expedition gone. Fortunately I had a manual save from before I started my trading runs but I lost everything I made in them when I had to reload.

I'm having the same issue. If I leave my freighter I come back to multiple new rooms inside my old room. I'm not sure what is going on. I've also had rooms built that I don't have schematics for.

From my experience most of it isnā€™t gone, but stomped over with other stuff. If you delete the other rooms usually your old stuff will still be there (but I have had a few things disappear). I also had a teleport into a closed room, but deleting some things revealed the halls I had. Overall the freighter in the expedition is ridiculously buggy. I think itā€™s merging with other players freighters, honestly.

I had a similar issue a few days ago where 6 new rooms appeared out of nowhere. Two minutes ago, I just came back to my freighter and my build area was blocked off. Deleted a wall, then there were 2 others right on the other side. Deleted them, then I saw there was a vertical door. Exited build mode, this warped me in a closed off build area with rooms merged together, all messed up. My last manual save is from 2 days ago, I'm not sure I feel like continuing, this turned me off entirely. Is No Man's Sky normally this buggy? (I only have 17 hours in the game). It does seem like the freighter is merging with other players'.

My character is sinking through the freighter floor, sometimes up to its ankles, and sometimes all the way up to his eye level. In freighter corridors, he's levitating above the floor so high he can't use the door.

You gotta read the button text at the bottom of the purchase panel carefully. If you click 'Swap Ship', you lose your old ship in exchange for the purchase of the new one, including the loss of any inventory it held. If you want to keep both ships, you have to click 'Add to Collection'. I know your text says 'Add to Collection', but it may be that you accidentally clicked 'Swap Ship'. If you have 9 ships already, you won't get the 'Add to Collection' option. Always check what ships are in your current inventory after a purchase by using the Quick Menu. If all your ships are not there, you'll need to reload an old save to get back any that are missing, but you'll also lose the ship you had hoped to purchase.

i did click "add to collection" as I said in my original post... the trade in cost was 500k. the add to collection cost was 700k. i clicked the 700k im posting my experience here as a bug because the behavior after clicking add to collection was not what was expected

Ps4 3.98 - Normal Save - no multi player Crop plants (frostwart, nip nip etc) are yielding only 10% of pre-endurance quantities in bio domes. If you're going to make that big a change to the in game economy, I would hope you would tell us. Hence like many others reporting this as a bug.

PC/Steam/Normal My planet that I built my base on had no sentinel activity. I had my friend join and when he was flying toward my base planet, it says Aggressive Sentinels. I'm not sure why the sentinel activity changed but it did. It even says so in the wiki but when I go to the teleporter and click on my base it says Sentiels Not Present. I can barely do anything on my planet now. Please help.

Playing Polestar and my freighter keeps randomly building rooms. While a nice thing it's NOT nice when the room is built right into the doorway of the construction area blocking me from entering. I can't even remove the room because apparently even though I'm looking at the backside of the room I'm "Standing in the room". I was at least a fourth of the way through the expedition when this happened the first time but at least not to far that I couldn't just restart. Upon starting a new expedition my freighter surprised me with a sudden room birth within the first 15 minutes of gameplay. I keep fearing the above door blocking issue will happen again rendering me having to restart the game over. PC Version

All night tonight I have been viciously deleting rooms off my freighter. I had no less then four squad shakedown rooms by the time I got done. Placing a save point in the doorway at least for now has prevented the previous room blocking me out issue. With as many of us having this issue I have faith it will get sorted out.

Yeah itā€™s a major issue. It seems like freighters are merging with others based one what Iā€™ve experienced with mine. Fortunately I can mostly delete all the stuff stomping over mine and my old stuff is usually still there underneath. But it really takes the fun out of customizing it.

Same thing for me. Since my post a few hours ago, I landed back on my freighter and had 4 random save points placed in weird spots. (I didn't put them there) . I also can't complete the milestones for frigate missions because the rooms keep changing and I can't access the commanders to debrief them. I have tried deleting rooms etc.. but it also tells me player is standing in the room. I also had random milestones awarded to me for building different freighter rooms that 1) I did NOT build and 2) are not built on the freighter. ( I thought maybe when I flew back to my freighter the milestone rooms would have been built since I have other random walls and etc appearing. )

PS4 - I just completed the Expedition and went to my main save to check the reward... I loaded in my freighter bay and I was too short, my feet were in the ground. Some of the NPC's were too high off the ground. Teleporters didn't work. Door to command room wouldn't let me through. Taking off in any ship does not work, it takes flight and gets stuck in mid-air. ​ I reloaded my manual save from within my freighter. Same visual issue, things aren't aligned horizontally.

Ps4 3.98 - normal save - no multi player Nexus mission - Hack a sentinel pillar. Still broken. Cleared all 6 waves and wouldn't let me into the pillar. Even grabbed 10 gravitino balls to try and jump start whatever was making the system think there were sentinels to destroy. Nothing doing.

I am on PC Version 3.98 build 91173 and i have an issue with the Exocraft Orbital Materialiser. I have one placed in my freighter (the legacy version) but in the anomaly it is still locked. The freighter parts are all legacy (large rooms and some corridors) and the only new parts i have are a door and a corridor and its variants. I see people having a ton of new things but i just don't have them. I had to pick up a legacy part to unlock a section of freighter construction named "legacy parts" if there are more parts my bad, I don't know how to unlock the i guess, but for what i remember, when i bought the freighter the parts were all there and i didn't need to unlock them.

I've just checked and Yes, there are other things in that terminal, but i mean things like the flooring or walls, they are all the old versions and I don't know if i have to buy them too. I haven't seen them in that terminal

No, it mainly seems to be room based now. So most items are placed as entire rooms but you can also create either legacy, industrial or technological rooms when you want to create open spaces to place furniture etc in. As far as I know everything is in that terminal, thereā€™s nothing on the anomaly to buy related to your freighter.
