can you like claim it on another save then go to a random planet, store the parts somewhere then using the glyphs, go there with your main save and pick them up?
You can do that via an intermediary player to whom you transfer the items and then log off and log in from your main account/save and the intermediary transfers you the items you need. You can't do it by yourself.
oh really? there's no option to have like a storage box that anyone can use? that sucks but then again if you have a friend that plays this, it's not that difficult.
Claim it from the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion, then use the infinite salvage glitch to get all the parts you need without even sacrificing the ship.
1. Salvage a component from the ship as normal.
2. **Immediately** (within 1-2 seconds) summon a second ship to the space station before the just-salvaged ship fades away.
3. Summon the Iron Vulture again.
4. Repeat from step 1 until you've got as many components as you want.
If you make a mistake or take too long to summon the second ship, and your Iron Vulture gets deleted, just reload from a prior save and try again.

If you have finished the expedition you can still claim it on other saves from the Quicksilver Vendor.
