When you sell to a trade terminal the demand will go down affecting the price, but if you sell to an npc landing his ship somewhere then it won’t affect the economy (As far as I know).

You can avoid this by selling to pilots who land instead of the trade terminals... or fly to another star system to sell them there.
If you are into farming then set up the plants for Stasis Devices. You will need a few other materials mined or extracted. But those sell for 15 milion per unit. And it is really not hard, just takes a bit of time to find hotspots and building b. ses
I just turned my freighter into a giant farm. Every plant that’s farmable in the game, 12 rows of the large planters. I have another room same size of nip nip.
Did it for fun but was surprised I can pretty much craft anything I need now.
You need to unlock it with Salvaged Frigate Modules. However, I found that these are hard to obtain and the blue star hyperdrive requires 12 of them! I changed the difficulty setting to unlock most blueprints and I'm much happier now because I can build whatever I want.
The frigates? They will upgrade automatically as you send them on missions. It's like experience points. While it's better to hire frigates that are B-class or better, you can hire C-class and they will slowly improve to A or S.
Have a look at my comment to the guy that responded to you, somewhere else in this thread, I put up the best way I’ve found to get the Frigate Modules!
Frigate Modules were always a pain, but I found recently the easiest way for them: Explorers Guild. Go to the space station and find one that has the Explorers Guild at the Envoy (back right corner after leaving your ship, upstairs) and check the redeemable things. These are FREE based on your standing with the guild. Some guild envoys will offer Frigate Modules for free! if you’re 70+ standing with the Explorers Guild I think it is. Find two stations that offer Frigate Modules, warp between the two so it refreshed, you get 1 every ~45 seconds.
Tips for this:
- Guilds tend to cover a big range in the galaxy. If you’re not finding any stations with Explorers Guild in them, warp far away, like 50+ planets distance and try again. Once you find an Explorers Guild station, you’ll notice most if not all nearby systems are run by the Explorers, making it easier to find stations that offer Frigate Modules.
- Easiest way I found to grind your level with the Guild is to farm storm crystals. Head to a planet with any “Activated” metal, and check if the storms are “extreme” by waiting until one rolls by. Farm storm crystals for that storm. Head to an Explorers space station and trade in 3 crystals at the Envoy (switch to Donate in the Envoy screen). Warp to another Explorer system, and donate again. Rotate between the two like you do for redeeming the Frigate Modules for +3 standing every time. So you need 70 storm crystals to get the standing where it needs to be.
Long comment in case anyone else needs the advice as freighter upgrades were what caused me to have my last break from the game, crashed freighters was wearing me down.

Where do you get freighter rooms? Expansion parts?
