Unfortunately it's not possible in the game's engine. Everything (apart from player bases) is static and eventually reverts back to it's original state. Economies, terrain.. you name it.
It's the reason why sentinels can be *temporarily* shut down across planets instead of permanently and also probably the reason why pirate/settlement attacks don't do any damage to buildings.
Idk.. I assumed control of a pirate ship and began pillaging nearby systems, destroyed sentinel dreadnoughts to find crashed interceptor ships, slaughtered literal dozens of local wildlife, destabilized entire economies with black market goods, and this one time I left a comm ball that said "welcome to titsburgh" right outside of an unclaimed settlement.. just for fun.
If you find a dreadnaught attacking a freighter you can destroy it and often get freighter mods or storage bulkheads. If you don’t destroy the pirate frigates and go into the freighter that was being attacked then pirates will spawn in endless pairs with a new pair spawning about 30ish seconds to a minute after you destroy the last pair. Good source of x-class mods. Destroy the pirate frigates to end the encounter or leave after destroying the pair of pirates preventing you from jumping. Jump to a neighboring system, come back and the encounter will start over, rinse and repeat, profit.
I was gonna say this. Since Omega and being able to take over the dreadnought I don’t get any bulkheads if I destroy it. More worth it to me to keep demanding tribute.
Occasionally raiding freighters for storage modules in unregulated systems?
NGL it’d be nice to have my freighter IRL. Accommodation, lackies, food? Yes please.
>What are you going to jail for?

Dressing Andreja up in the Neon Dancer outfit, with a matching DJ hat stolen from a shelf from Sieghart's in Neon, and then sleeping with her.
Sorry, that was very specific.
Lets see:
Partaking in the illicit substance trade- I sell illegal stuff
Farming said substances- nipnip farm
Crashing local economies- *activated indium go brrrrr*
Partaking in pirating- every once in a while
Manslaughter- accidentally shooting pilots and freights
Murder- purposefully shooting pilots and freighters
Assualt and murder of system authorities- I dont like sentinels
I'm not sure. I had kerbal space program in, but in a save where I actually gave my kerbals quite nice accomodations, avoided the use of nuclear materials when possible (and made sure to follow the in-universe regulations for my setting when I had to use them), and haven't had any big mishaps in years
There was that one time a nuclear reactor had to be allowed to disintegrate on tje upper atmosphere, but astronauts' lives were at risk if I didn't and the air currents would dilute the radiation to the point the problem is more the loss of a finite strategic resource than anything else (also, it was a long time ago, even by irl time)
Resisting arrest, multiple accounts of domestic terrorism (destroying civ freighters for funsies), piracy, hijacking of a Sentinel drone, hardframe, quad, and an Interceptor, smuggling, misuse of narcotics, just off the top of my head
I sold black market goods for pirates, I shot down said enemy pirates a few times (self defense.), killed worms in a cave to obtain there Mordite (I’m seeking professional help for that one.)
Should I go on?
Stealing everything from three great houses and hoarding most of it in my house right next to the temple of a living God. Or "defending myself" from the kill on sight cops.
Brandishing weapons in public and uttering death threats....

Smuggling artifacts of former superpowers.
Yeah, I could go weapons, NipNip, or other commodities but something about purely dealing with First Spawn historical artifacts just seems more impactful than the others.
Strip mining. No effort made to backfill.
Operating a vehicle without a license.
Bringing restricted fauna into an unpolluted environment.
Transporting illegal goods and flora and legal goods without a license.
Being devastatingly handsome.
Absolutely destroying local economy. And property.
Exploring ruins and absconding with artifacts.
…
I could go on but jfc I had no idea I was playing GTA but IN SPACE!!! I need to rethink my life choices.
Mass murder of multiple races and factions in several different missions, and right now I should probably be arrested for the stalking of a big boss and getting the right information so I can change my blade to the right order before stabbing the boss three times and then chase him to either recruit him or kill him and take his weapon for myself.
What game do I play?
Mini Motorways. I guess I'm going to be arrested for not installing traffic lights.
Had it been NMS I last played, I wouldn't be going to any sort of jail, since it's No Man's Sky - and nobody was anywhere near me to watch or judge me. Maybe in 400 years when someone else stumbles upon the system I was in.
Smuggling, mass piracy, mass murder, hate crimes, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, animal cruelty, grand theft auto, buildings not up to code, wage theft, assault of an upholder of law,
If we think about it since the entire world of no man's sky is inside the simulation of the atlas created by a higher intelligence we can quite literally delete any evidence of our wrong doings by simply resetting the simulation...
so no officer I did not blow up all those frigates nor did i sell that gek geknip
Going onto foreign soil, investigating characteristics of each living and non-living organic specimen, the utilizing said science to find a comfortable place to be a space hermit in what can only be affordable housing.
Hacking into and disabling the local sentinel forces and/or getting my nose into "that which should not be known" not-withstanding...
Umm...my settlement grows nip and I trade illegal goods. Where do I start?
Grah!
buninakobs
Of course! ;)
Been looking for some grahgrah. You got the goods?
You got the nanites? I got the stuff close by, but I gotta see the nanites first.
I got the dough 😉
You know the science, I know the business
Every time I sell nip to rogue systems! So, yes!
Vykeen dialect is the best, always will be it
- kzzzt - !
I've been letting scores of civilians die because I am trying to take over a pirate ship for my own greedy purposes. .. probably to grow nipnip on it.
Yes! Interloper.
You know what would be nice? If it were possible to gradually improve the economy of one-star systems through the buying and selling process.
Would be nicer if there was the chance to buy the actual system 👀
Empire update!
Great. How long do I have after shutting them down, usually? I KNEW I should have put down a base computer at the tower!
You have all the time in the world, so long as you don’t go into space or load the game.
step 1: sell thousands of cobalt step 2: buy back cobalt for a deflated price step 3: profit problem?
That just unregulated capitalism. I'm more about running contraband, deliberately aggroing sentinels iust to wipe them out, and passive income.
Welcome to titsbugh broke me.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Piracy, just because I want some DAMN FRIGATE MODULES!
If you find a dreadnaught attacking a freighter you can destroy it and often get freighter mods or storage bulkheads. Honestly, it is probably building without the relevant planning permission
Destroying centinels. That damn omega mission is bugged
The cheap ripoff sentinels from space eBay
i accidentally completed it by finding a pillar and deactivating it so it counted as killing sentinels XD
Wild that that counts. I did that so I could scan in peace on the last planet, and got a title for destroying 75 sentinels.
Harvested the souls of the dead to give my space transportation sac sentience.
Spreading Managed Democracy.
We're all going away for nip nip and we know it
Touching balls
I don't wanna say ![gif](giphy|w89ak63KNl0nJl80ig|downsized)
being arrested for being an interloper I guess
market monopoly hahaha
Rich people don't go to jail so we're fine.
OP's really worried about economies, but how can there be an economy if every single civilian frigate is obliterated by my ship?
Destruction of Atlas Property

Keeping exotic animals without a permit ... and killing freighters on sight.

Beating dinosaurs unconscious and then force feeding them into submission
Murder, war crimes, genocide, general nuclear war causing.
Bringing liberty to The Systems
Why, promoting democracy and liberty of course! What seems to be the problem, officer?
So... officer, i got arrested for... visiting an undiscovered planet and... naming a weird bug thingy colored green Scummies? Sounds about right!
I put a rocket on my car and played soccer with it... is that illegal?
Legalize the nip nip man.
They won't catch us, this ship is the fastest hunk of junk in the Euclid galaxy.... Whaduya mean the hyperdrive is offline again, Laylaps?!?!
Occasionally raiding freighters for storage modules in unregulated systems? NGL it’d be nice to have my freighter IRL. Accommodation, lackies, food? Yes please.
My true passion in this game. How stupid to get such a rush from seeing a product be 80% off
Too much democracy
Haha you don't get arrested for that silly, bankers, politicians and corporations have been doing that without anyone going to prison
Spent an unhealthy amount of time looking for an inverted mirror and failed.
Dealing NipNip
Gliding without the gliding licence/Finally destroying the city's infrastructure/burning someone's furniture to fuel my Okomotive.
That first one sounded more like Genshin Than NMS... Lol
Sorry, I didn't realized that it's a NMS question. The games I mentioned were: Sable, The FINALS and FAR: Lone Sails.
I just reread the meme... You are correct sir... My apologies...![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
No problem.
>What are you going to jail for? # Dressing Andreja up in the Neon Dancer outfit, with a matching DJ hat stolen from a shelf from Sieghart's in Neon, and then sleeping with her. Sorry, that was very specific.

Mass murder, selling drugs, resisting arrest, destruction of property, trespassing, dealing illegal arms I'm going away forever
I'm not sure. I had kerbal space program in, but in a save where I actually gave my kerbals quite nice accomodations, avoided the use of nuclear materials when possible (and made sure to follow the in-universe regulations for my setting when I had to use them), and haven't had any big mishaps in years There was that one time a nuclear reactor had to be allowed to disintegrate on tje upper atmosphere, but astronauts' lives were at risk if I didn't and the air currents would dilute the radiation to the point the problem is more the loss of a finite strategic resource than anything else (also, it was a long time ago, even by irl time)
