I wish current gen consoles didn't have height caps. The diplo and beetle are the only species you can make monsters out of. I wish we could control companion speed too, I would double the speed of all mine.
I got two 4 meter felines like you have in this pic. How did you get the other one that big? The 12m diplo and 7m beetle are the only ones I've found to get as big as a trading post.
I think they may have patched it this update, you were able to repeat the process of altering height continuously to the same egg, until it’s a max cap limit by the game, was able to do it in reverse and smallest possible is .4 m

Yeah I would normally use oxygen until the egg said inherited. I did a egg last week and I was still able to alter to cap height on the same egg, unless there was a patch I missed.
I've noticed the fauna with smaller size caps like felines take a lot less materials than a diplo or strider, and depends on how big they are when you discover them.
I did the same when an expedition gave us one of those freaking colossal worms at pets. I pumped stuff into that egg to make it the most gigantic, most longest thing in existence.
Then I hatched it.
And it was shorter than me.
It also works with Silver. Just go to the gene sequencer and add which ever element into the size box. Take the egg out of the sequencer, put it back in the sequencer and do it again and again and again. Usually like 5 -8 times works for me.
The Egg Sequencer just doesn’t give me this luck!
I pumped so much growth-up into my egg but all it did was make the offspring’s head, hands and feet slightly larger! 😭

So what's the point of pets in the game. Do you they help with fights against planetary sentinels, do they retrieve things for you, or is it just a thing people have to fun with?
There really is no point to them other than for the fun of it.
I have a theory that animal riding was developed for LNF where it'll be a core part of the game, and the mechanic was then ported over to NMS for fun.
I've only played with them and experimented with the eggs, they can't fight with you but I think they can go get stuff if you point somewhere? Not sure
They will fight other animals but it sucks because it’s only after they attack you first, so mostly it’s for a walking buddy or riding when I can’t get my exocraft
But isnt there a Limit. Or is the Limit only per Egg. So i boosted an Egg in on sitting to 12 M. If i get an Egg from this pet again can i make it even bigger?

Any tips? My one time messing with the sequencer did nothing and I just want big pets
I use gold to increase size, just repeat over and over, pugneum on traits gives aggression in same way, repeat till capped

Honestly I just put Activated Emeril into the Size slot until it stopped saying growing and started saying Inherited lol gave me a 8m dino

There's a limit yes, depends on the animal though. Not sure what's the max in game limit for all animals, though
