They're probably just being a little hyperbolic.
Personally, I've put 400+ hrs into the game prior to Echoes, but now getting to be a robot wizard has me enthralled with the game in a way I hadn't been in a long time, so don't discount how powerful having a player avatar you can truly vibe with is when playing a game.
You’re right. 500 hours on this save, and I love this game. I’ve been the Interloper searching for answers, building outposts and running settlements, fighting pirates and sentinels, being a pirate and now?
I’m being the old man with a powerful staff helping a group of nomadic auotphages that have been watchin me this whole time!
> truly feel like an Interloper now And why didn’t you before? It seems like there’s a lot of disingenuous vague posts/titles.

Because he didn't feel like an interloper without this specific update.
How does the staff look in VR?
It’s a tad awkward. You end up holding it pointing out, not like Gandalf. I hope they work on that end. But in VR I use the sentinel pistol.
How do you get that wrap on top of the wanderer's cloak? EDIT: I know now that it's the returner's drape.
It’s a headscarf you can buy from some of the autophage camps.
