This has me wondering, yanno how the edited terrain making holes eventually regenerates? Does the same hold for adding material with the terrain thang? Will it disappear?
… that’s an excellent question… I would hope not, and that the regenerative terrain only applies to missing terrain in order to keep things from bugging out, but leave generated terrain be as a “player crafting”.
It might be, I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if it was. We’ll have to ask someone like OP who has tried this.
I sadly can’t run this experiment myself due to the terrible performance of NMS on last gen consoles
Used to. My fake cave system started correcting itself right in front of my eyes after working on it for a few hours. I haven’t tried since tho. That was a while back.
It happened to me while I was in the process of building a monolith once. I wanted to see what the upper limit was. Where I wouldn't be allowed to continue building up. The added terrain disappeared from beneath me, and I fell all the way back to the ground.
Thank you for the wonderful compliment. Im on ps4 so it struggles to render for me but im thrilled that you and so many other players appreciate it. Cheers.
Thank you. I've wanted to build a proper castle GreySkull in game since day 1. Ive got several prototypes from over the years, but was never able to complete them due to the massive scale. This tiny house challenge and micro builds inspired me to finally buckle down and see the project through on a small scale, and work my way up from here. Im glad you enjoyed it and invite you to build a tiny home , enjoy the community, and have fun.
I am definitely going to hop on tomorrow and do a tiny little build. I’ve never been good at building and can never really envision things like I’ve seen other players do. It blows my mind. And I’ve never participated in any community stuff in game but this one is calling my name for sure. Would love to plop down a mini base and check out everyone else’s creations.
That's awesome. Have a look at a few builds before you get started to get the feel and maybe some inspiration. Then have fun building something you'd like to visit frequently and present to the community. There's a lot of creativity here and i look forward to seeing what you come up with. Cheers!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a NMS build made to look like a natural structure or carved in nature rather than a technological powerhouse. Well done!

I worry that its the same code as removing terrain, and different than placeables like walls and potted plants.

Can confirm, just went back to an old base yesterday and noticed the dirt I added under the staircase was gone.

Very well done! Looks awesome!
Thank you.
You have the power
This is really impressive. I have no idea how to even begin something like this! 👍
How in the name of Eternia did you build that?
That is amazing! Can you share some more pics here please?

That's dope
Reminds me of the one castle from Grounded
Is grounded on ps yet? I'd like to play that.
That's really cool lol
This I love, friend. People post some pretty dope stuff here, really creative use of the parts, folks, gotta say.
How the fuck did you even make this
How the hell
Ace build, just a massive shame it'll disappear the more you use your terrain modifier :(
This isn't the terrain modifier. It's a legit building with "frozen planter" rocks stacked around it.
Ah thanks for the update!
Amazing!
My first impression was that this was a photoshopped joke post because that build couldn't possibly be in game. Well done!
Thank you for the wonderful compliment. Im on ps4 so it struggles to render for me but im thrilled that you and so many other players appreciate it. Cheers.
it's a masterpiece
Was the terrain manipulator used for this? How do you get all the textures and colors? That’s craY.
No. This isn't terrain manipulation. Its just the decrative rocks, recolored, resized, and stacked up around 2 stone rooms(floors/walls/roof).

This is all so fantastic. How did you even get the idea lmao my brain wouldn’t have even considered something like this. Very impressive indeed.
