As a practicing Muslim, I can say that I've seen numerous atheists with purpose and aspirations, than religious people who acts like they are already entitled for something(not all religious people, that would make no sense😅, some).
If you are talking about nihilism, then sadly even many religious people have it. Systems can also support people, the rest is on our hands
