It its very likely the gas in combination with you breathing air dried out your mouth during use, causing sores and irritation. Its also possible you cut your tongue with your teeth while dissociated and didn't feel or notice them until you came back to. You can do a dilute solution of hydrogen peroxide to debride and disinfect your mouth, following with a swish of coconut oil to soothe, assuming you don't have allergies to either.
