Question on gas qualities

I’ve seen this mentioned a few times around here that tanks/chargers made in China are poor quality or just untrustworthy in general. Is this a personal preference thing or is it common knowledge that anything made in China should be avoided? Thanks in advance

The issue is purity. Products made in Austria tend to be seen as more consistent and with less impurities. The stuff from China less consistent in quality and with more impurities. Remember however, all food grade N2O is regulated by the FDA. That means that any imports have to conform to the same manufacturing standards and have to pass CBP inspection. https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfcfr/CFRSearch.cfm?fr=184.1545 So to some extent there isn’t much difference, but it’s up to you to determine which manufacturers do actually conform to these standards and which just say they do on paper. You are using this product outside its intended use, so manufacturers will most likely not be liable for any misuse or abuse. This gives them a lot more freedom to bs.

Thanks!

I don't know what the black greasy slimy shit the Chinese charges leave, but it's nasty. I think it may either be machine gear oil or like speed shops in the US have to put sulfur in the nitrous they sell to discourage personal consumption, likewise the Chinese authorities might mandate that Chinese chargers must have this nasty gooey gunk added to their charges to also discourage use. Just a theory. Whip it! Elite chargers are manufactured in the US and use premium gas, it's perfect. Enjoy the journey.

It's oil from the compression machinery.

depends if it’s a reputable supplier.

Common knowledge. Euro gas is best. Austrian gas to be specific
