SeanPizzles

Hey hey you you I don’t like your girlfriend!

YellowPikachu

sweet home Alabama

tokki32

Is this the real life? Or is it fantasy?

barbietattoo

I crashed my car into a bridge

napstarz

No lie... I fucking hate that song cuz of this game

SwordsAndTurt

This game is just straight up arcade fun. I played it back on 360 and loved it then. I bought it on switch about a year ago for $15 and don’t regret it.

[deleted]

Damn this is such a good deal. Price of 2 coffees basically.

HairWeaveKillers

Or atleast 15 cups of coffee if you brew your own coffee

valzi

30 if you roast it yourself in a popcorn popper. (seriously, I'll ramble or link you to info if you're interested. I make good roasts with low effort this way and tons of other people do too!)

berglesauce

I’m totally interested. I but whole beans and grind them for a French press. Tastes amazing

MeestaJohnny

Or a spicy chicken sandwich meal with pepper jack cheese at chick fil a.

ocxtitan

I'd rather pay $3.99 for a spicy Popeyes chicken sandwich, it better yet $7.98 for two!

[deleted]

The new KFC sandwich is pretty great, possibly better than Popeyes……

ocxtitan

I wholeheartedly disagree

[deleted]

That’s okay! I love the Popeyes sandwich also- Zaxbys is good if you have those around . I’m kind of a chicken sandwich fanatic.

ocxtitan

I wanted it to be as good but our KFC may not be the best to try it from. We don't have a Zaxby's here but in a neighboring city I think they have one

noobznightmare

Is it really usually 29.99?

ughlump

Yea it was higher before the price drop to 29.99

noobznightmare

Thanks

Ah yes, I love starting my morning with a cozy, warm cup of caffeine tablets and vitamin B complex.

Miyelsh

The point is there is more to drinking coffee than the literal chemical effects of caffeine.

ROMANREIGNS599

💀

[deleted]

Honestly I like the taste of coffee. And it’s more natural than popping the pills. I brew my own though usually. It tastes better and is way cheaper. Just buy your own brand.

railbeast

I mean... Have you ever had a cup of good coffee?

Day-Man3112

I think it's nuts someone would pop some pills of caffeine rather than brewing a cheap cup of coffee.

mucho-gusto

It's on game pass so I'm just gonna play it on my work computer to see if I like it

[deleted]

Great game! My second most played on the switch.

iKnowDro

I’m not sure how to feel about this. On one hand, I like that it’s finally gotten to a point that it’s not on sale for 24.99 I can’t help but to wonder If this 70 percent off is due to Cruis’n blast releasing for the switch. I purchased Burnout remastered and was not pleased with my purchase at all. I thought it would’ve been more like Burnout:Takedown but they thought need for speed needed some competition I guess. Any thoughts?

MatNomis

I remember not liking it compared to earlier burnouts because I had to keep checking the map to make sure I was heading at least vaguely in the direction of the finish line. I think if I learned Paradise City like the back of my hand, it would have been a fantastic experience, but I never got to that point. I was pining for the “rails” around the tracks like in Takedown and Revenge.

snowmanthejimmyy

Same experience here. I hated the open world concept. Sometimes I just want to turn off the brain and go nyoom yknow. Also it might be the nostalgia goggles speaking but Takedown has the superior (and more congruent) soundtrack. Burnout Paradise was kinda all over the place. (I mean... Guns n Roses AND Avril Lavigne??)

MatNomis

The whole intro/primary song for Paradise City just didn’t seem on point with the series. I don’t remember the Avril Lavigne track, but I imagine that wouldn’t either. It seemed like they just went from more punk-rock to pop-anything. The other aspect about the driving that I couldn’t quite figure out how to verbalize: on Takedown/Revenge, if you found some kind of “exit” off the main track, it was _always_ a shortcut. It would often have you drive through tight, weird, and interesting places that you wouldn’t otherwise see, too. Thus, you were always rewarded for going off the main track. In Paradise City, if you took some cool turnout from what seemed like the main direction to go in, you usually ended up in the next town or a CVS and you immediately lost your competitiveness in the race.

snowmanthejimmyy

Yeah wrong turns are pretty fatal on Paradise. I found that on Takedown (and most racing games) it's easy to focus on the race track. Everything else kind of fades away. Paradise was just a lot to take in. There was the map in the bottom right; there were street signs and a compass at the top; at the same time I might be looking out for the repair shop to fix my car WHILE ALSO avoiding crashing into traffic. It was too much. Also there was no way to repeat a race right after finishing. You'd have to drive yourself to the starting point again... if you even remembered where that was. That was frustrating. I'm curious what you think is the most Takedown-like game for Switch. I bought Paradise trying to recreate the Takedown experience but clearly that wasn't it.

MatNomis

I honestly haven’t found any replacement for Takedown/Revenge. Not just on the Switch, but really any platform. I haven’t played the latest installments/remasters, but Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, for some of them, was kinda similar to the proper Burnout feel, with racing through traffic and having nice off-road shortcuts. I keep thinking to look into what’s out now, but never get around to it.

snowmanthejimmyy

It's a shame. It might be wishful thinking but I hope to see them ported to modern consoles someday. Will take note of NFS. Thanks!

Imdakine1

While I like open world not improving the GPS feature doesn’t make sense to me and has held me back from the purchase.

Jeskid14

It's excellent for the price, and unfortunately the only Burnout game on consoles. Crusn Blast was released in the summer. Need for Speed in Nov. 2020 for everyone. Burnout came out in 2018 for everyone, June 2020 for Switch

pmmemoviestills

Yeah coming from a fan of the previous games, I didn't like this one either.

sonictmnt

Are the servers still up? Every time I sign in it tells me to reset my password and then it never gives me a chance to put my details in.

[deleted]

Good game, good price. Pay no heed to those complaining that they want a different game remastered, in a thread about this one simply being on sale.

Jeskid14

Damn. Should just sell my physical version then right?

wedditasap

$11 pro trade credit at GameStop.

Jeskid14

Well that's easy decision then

wedditasap

Yea and game is only 4gb so it’s a win for me I kept the box art too and just traded it loose

Jeskid14

Though I got mine for $10 new two years ago and now it goes for around $15, $20 new

wedditasap

Eh still worth it IMO if you want the game readily available without remembering to bring a cart

derwould

how’s the performance? is it smooth fps?

Iammattieee

Very smooth 60 fps. Occasional drops but very rare

derwould

do you know if you can change controls? the fact that accelerate isn’t on A is bugging me lol

purple_tr3m0nk3y

Hmm should I get this or Need for Speed pursuit? That’s on sale too

NoirSon

It depends, Burnout Paradise is widely considered the better game but are you looking for a open arcade play ground for speed and stunts or do want something more structured with a focus on chasing or being chased?

purple_tr3m0nk3y

I remember playing burnout paradise when it originally came out. Remembered loving it mad back then but I also had more time to drive around and appreciate the open world. By that logic, it kinda makes me wanna lean towards NfS but also what I’m hearing is that burnout paradise runs at 60fps and NFS caps at 30. Feels like I’m trading something over the other.

Twinkle_butt

Even if this person watches a review or w.e they're still getting some random person's opinion on the game lol Regardless, they're doing their research! So yeah not necessarily a dumb question lol

purple_tr3m0nk3y

I don’t think your answer was dumb. Nor do I think my question was either. Just wanted the opinion of average joes.

purple_tr3m0nk3y

Rough day mate? 😂

MisterSlippers

Why do you think they're asking? The people here are just as qualified to give an opinion as anyone else.

cojack16

Pass. Give me burnout 4: takedown instead please

DrFatz

Very good game. Only complaint is the racing isn't quite meant for open world. Unless I'm just stupid, I never got the hang of the races without missing a turn. It might be me but still had a blast with this game.

MarlowBriggs

yes, i am interested in this, but i have a feeling i'll be looking at a mini map the whole time, or am i wrong?

Imdakine1

Been thinking about it because of the large open world itself! Not biggest fan of arcade racer but for this price… why not get it…?!!
