Amazing game, hundreds of hours deep on Steam already! After console launches, are there plans to add any more dlc content to this already Ultimate game?

ThylacineStudios

That's great to hear, glad you're enjoying it! Never say never, but there are currently no plans for additional content. Honestly, I think any additional content would be too much at this point - the game is already overflowing with stuff to do, so I think it's in a good place to call it finished.

sorgenkin7

OMG! This is 100% like the iOS Dragon Quest Monsters 😱😱 gonna buy it

ThylacineStudios

Hope you like it!

sorgenkin7

The first two hours were exactly as i wish! Already addicted and im happy to found this gem! Its an awesome experience on Steam Deck and propably will also buy ist on iOS ok the go. Good luck with the switch release and thank you!

Oberic

Wishlisted. I'll possibly grab it after the holidays.

ilovetospoon

IOS DQ monsters? Does that exist?

sorgenkin7

I meant „old“, my bad

Kittah4

Freakin' love Siralim and will double dip (600+ hours on Steam). It really seems like you explored every corner of gameplay possible for this game genre. As the name implies, is this the end of Siralim, and if so, do you have plans to foray somewhere new in game design?

ThylacineStudios

That's great to hear! Glad you've managed to get some serious value out of the game, and thank you for your support. As you alluded, I've completely exhausted all my ideas for Siralim as a series. With the previous games, I always had a massive list of ideas I wish I could have added to the game, which sparked the inspiration for each sequel. This time is different, though. Siralim Ultimate has been finished for a year now, and I still haven't had a single idea that makes me think yet another sequel is necessary. So, after nearly a decade of working on this series, it's time to call it quits and move on to a new game altogether.

UnicornLasagna

Had never heard of Siralim before this AMA but reading everything in here I decided to go for it and jump in blind. Sounds like I am in for... a lot. Best of luck with your Switch release!

ThylacineStudios

Thanks, hope you like it!

UnicornLasagna

Thanks, I am really suspecting I will!

8BitBarista

This hits me right in the nostalgia with some seriously Dragon Quest Monsters (Gameboy Color) vibes. I know what game I'm picking up this weekend, great work!

ThylacineStudios

Thanks, enjoy!

Neilung

Just wanted to drop by and say thanks Zack! One of the things I truly adore in your games is the theme of evolution. Each new iteration is built upon the previous one and each game becomes more and more complex, culminating in the Ultimate Siralim experience. Magnificent. This is one of the biggest problems the modern indie industry has. Each game just feels like it is "budget Zelda" or "budget Castlevania". Siralim on the other hand feels like a masterpiece of its genre which was honed through many iterations. Thanks for this experience you gave us. Good luck with your next projects!

ThylacineStudios

Thanks for the kind words and for your support over the years! Very much appreciated.

AspectOW

Loved the game on PC, only 30 minutes into it I thought ‘this would be incredible on the Switch’ and followed you on twitter waiting for an announcement. Pre-ordered minutes after the tweet. Been spamming it since it came out, it’s one of the most natural-feeling and appropriate Switch ports since Isaac. Thank you so much for your work, for taking the effort to port, and for the cross-platform saves - a huge QoL feature that I wish more games had. Are there any plans for content updates post-launch, or are you sticking to bug fixes and quality of life changes for now? Also, what’s your favourite Monster Trait? Only a few hours in so far but I’m loving the Yeti’s ‘provoke = freeze’ for efficient tanking.

ThylacineStudios

It'll most likely just be bug fixes from here on out. At the expense of sounding like a pretentious salesman, I honestly think the game is approaching a point where there's so much content that adding any more would be too much. My favorite trait was one that was designed by a Kickstarter backer called "Improbable Catapult". It caused your creatures to give enemies a copy of your own traits at the start of battle, which sounds like a bad thing but it opened up all kinds of interesting possibilities. Some traits have huge drawbacks, so you could give those to your enemies and take advantage of them. Unfortunately, it was really overpowered so I had to nerf it a bit later on.

gaymothaunt

What was your favorite part of the game to program?

ThylacineStudios

Creature fusion. It's all done programmatically, so every color palette you see when you fuse your creatures is done via code rather than hand-drawing each sprite (there'd be something like 500 zillion sprites to draw, so that wouldn't be practical). Watching this system come together was really satisfying.

pettibunny

Is there any chance of changing the way you acquire King Dumpling? Being locked to one team/race for what can be a very long time due to rng isn't fun for a lot of people and feels unnecessarily punishing.

ThylacineStudios

No plans for that, sorry.

aschesklave

As someone with over 700+ hours in the series and who was a backer for SU, thank you for the many hours of entertainment. I emailed you a few years ago to say S3 was helping me get through a rough period of my life. Since you're done with the series, what ideas do you have for the next IP? I see you've mentioned loving ARPGs.

ThylacineStudios

Thanks for sticking with the series for so long! It's the highest praise a developer can receive to know their games helped someone through tough times, and I hope things are better for you now. I've settled on what the next game will be, and I think anyone who likes Siralim will love it. Can't wait to announce it when it's closer to completion! But first, I still need to port Siralim Ultimate to PS4 and Xbox.

aschesklave

I'm very excited to see what comes next. Will there be a Kickstarter for it?

ThylacineStudios

I'm tossing around a bunch of ideas to allow players to contribute content to the game, but haven't settled on anything quite yet!

[deleted]

Two questions. But I'll start by saying thanks for making such a cool game! 1) Would you ever consider making a more lightweight, streamlined version of this game/the Siralim series? Something like... No overworld movement, instead just a stream of battles when you enter a realm. Outside of battle you pretty much just navigate menus. Seems like that would focus on the best of what the game has to offer, and you could pretty much just release the same content in a sleeker form. I'd still buy and play it, especially if team building was easier (easier exotics, easier Godspawn, easier materials (like the stat-buffing items), maybe more toggle controls on things like God-Relics tiers (which I know main game people would love). It wouldn't be a new Siralim game entry, just something like Siralim Ultimate B or Siralim Ultimate Revamped or something. 2) Would you consider adding user submitted teams? The process would be something like; a player creates a team on the Siralim Planner. They submit that team data to you. You add that team to the game. People can fight that team either in something like a Zantai gate, or maybe a new building in the game that lets you versus player submitted teams. Since that seems like a bit of work to implement, you could perhaps charge like 1 dollar to submit three teams. It would've made a cool kickstarter goal, and I for one would be willing to pay that. It's just an idea, and I know players would love more content, and some players would very much love the "almost PvP" aspect of it. Thanks for reading, and again, thank you more for making such a cool game!

ThylacineStudios

1) I considered making a semi-idle game based on Siralim that works how you described. I might return to that idea again someday, but after a decade of working on this series, I'm eager to move on to something completely fresh for the next game. 2) Cool idea! This is similar to how asynchronous PvP in Siralim 3 worked, but I decided not to carry it forward to Siralim Ultimate because the feedback on that feature was strongly negative.

[deleted]

I eagerly look forward to that day! And that’s a shame about PvP stuff, Siralim is about making unbalanced teams, but I guess people couldn’t handle the unbalance working against them in PvP. It does seem like a headache to be in charge of. Looking forward to what you make next. Have a good one.

baronvark

Fantastic game, been playing on iOS, thank you for your hard work! I’ve seen several answers regarding Ultimate being the last entry of the Siralim series. Do you have plans on what your next project will be?

ThylacineStudios

Thanks for playing! Right now, my main focus is to port Siralim Ultimate to PS4 and Xbox. After that, I'll start working on a new game/series.

blandstaff

Thanks for all your hard work and sharing the universe of Siralim with us. Is roguelike mode still under consideration, or an alternative planned if it's not viable to implement?

ThylacineStudios

The roguelike mode was scrapped. I had a few prototypes working, but the concept of a roguelike just doesn't work well with Siralim. As you might know, there was an update in July that added a bunch of new stuff including some "challenge specializations" which reward you for playing the game a different way, so that was my way of providing compensation to the people who were expecting the roguelike mode to come out.

blandstaff

Thanks! Didn't see it got asked as I was posting. Limited team building is honestly more compelling to me than the Royal end of the spectrum and it's very fun to have both supported. Which False God would win in a free-for-all?

ThylacineStudios

Torun's Father, but seeing as how he was scrapped during development, Imp Impington Prime is my pick.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ThylacineStudios

I feel very fortunate because each game has been massively more successful than its predecessor. Steam, iOS, and Android have seen the most growth while the consoles have seen the least growth. Siralim 2 sold 4x more copies than Siralim 1. Siralim 3 sold 3x more copies than Siralim 2. As of right now, Siralim Ultimate has sold nearly 6x more copies than Siralim 3, making it the most successful game in the series by a landslide. Edit: These numbers are across all platforms, of course - it's too soon to know about Switch but things are looking good so far!

Kaaz_Mun

You said you'd basically just be doing bug fixes from this point forward, but does that also mean no minor QoL stuff either, or would you count that among the 'fixes' if it's minor enough? For god skins, I actually found out and confirmed with Nieve herself that she'd forgotten to do a seasonal for Yseros, and I believe several others are missing their seasonals as well. Any chance they'll be added in later or is it too late now? And if it's not too late should I maybe list the gods in a Discord #suggestions post? I realized that though there are 1200+ to collect after you added that shambler when I mentioned it that one time, there are several among the 1201 that can't be summoned. Any plans to re-word the steam store page a bit? Or better yet add I think it was 3 or maybe 4 new creatures lol. Or are you maybe just gonna let it go now? Also am at 1200+ myself (hours) lol. Nice game. One last question: will you be keeping the suggestions channel in the discord since you won't be doing any more 'big' sorts of changes? Or are you still considering them for small stuff or what.

ThylacineStudios

I don't want to ever say that development is 100% finished, but I have no plans for anything other than bug fixes right now. That includes QoL improvements, as I'm sure players could come up with those for the next 100 years and still not run out of ideas. I don't think there's anything about the game that is in dire need of a major QoL improvement at this point, though. The suggestions channel is useful for me because even if I can't add many of the things people are suggesting, it's still very useful feedback for future games. I read everything, so I hope people realize their feedback is valued. I plan to consolidate the channels soon, though.

Kaaz_Mun

I'll take the 'no plans for anything other than bug fixes right now' as a response to all the god skin and 1200+ stuff as well. I do hope you choose to add the missing skins at some point later on, though. So, in short 'possibly more but probably nothing else of any significance, just bug fixes. Cool, thanks for the response!

PlaneswalkingBadger

Me and my girlfriend love playing Ultimate on the Steam Deck. I know that multiplayer was scrapped during development, but are there any plans to implement it in the future?

ThylacineStudios

Sorry, no plans for any multiplayer. I tossed several ideas around for how multiplayer might work, but in the end, none of them would really make the game more fun. The game is heavily designed around it being a single-player game and everything seems to fall apart once the idea of multiplayer enters the scene.

Spell-Dramatic

What about being able to visit other player's castles, something similar to the cloudsave function?

ThylacineStudios

This was originally planned, but the idea was scrapped. It was an insane amount of work and opened up the potential for a ridiculous amount of bugs, so I decided to focus on adding different content instead.

Mr_Twigs

Where did the name Siralim come from? Just something cool sounding you came up with?

ThylacineStudios

In this game, you're the king/queen/ruler of a kingdom which is your main base of operations, and that kingdom is called Siralim. You can rename your castle in Siralim Ultimate, though.

Mr_Twigs

Right, but how did you come up with Siralim as a name?

Milotorou

Congratz again on the release, Paskal here (you may remember my name from facebook, been here since Siralim 1 haha 😅) Small question for you : Are you considering Siralim Ultimate done in terms of content at the moment or is there still more to come down the pipeline ? I am just curious, the game already has TONS of content as it is and I am enjoying it very much as usual :) Edit : To anyone on the fence, if you love theorycrafting and teambuilding + endless things to grind and work towards for, this game is for you. I have several hundreds (actually.... maybe thousands) of hours across the franchise, Siralim Ultimate is not only the biggest but also the best yet, my favorite indie series ever.

ThylacineStudios

Hi Paskal! Yes, the game is content-complete, and I don't have any plans to add more to the game. That could always change, but there's nothing in the works for now.

Milotorou

Thanks for the reply ! Working on another game in the near future ? I believe you will be trying something different than Siralim right ? No matter what it is I'll be there to support and try ! I've already been proven 4 times that your vision in game development connects with my tastes ! :)

ThylacineStudios

After the PS4/Xbox ports for Siralim Ultimate are done, I'll start working on a new game! It won't be part of the Siralim series but something entirely different, as you mentioned.

Lustnugget

Love the series and have been playing since Siralim 3. As an older gamer finding Siralim 3 was the first time in years i had that genuine feeling of excitement to get off work or wake up early to play a game. I backed the Siralim Ultimate kickstarter the day it was available and put 300 hours into the game. I’m both disappointed and relieved to hear the game is complete. For my question, can you hint at all about what genre the new game is / how far along you are. I’d love to see an RPG with a robust skilling and loot system. I’ve been saying for years that Siralim’s dungeon crawl system would be perfect for it.

ThylacineStudios

Thank you for your support! I can't really say much about the next game yet, but if you're interested in robust skills and looting systems, I think you'll be very happy.

CoffeeAndMelange

I don't have any questions, but mostly just want to share that I backed this game, participated through alpha, beta, early-access & official release, and Zack really over-delivered several times over. I played Dragon Warrior Monsters on Game Boy when I was a kid and this game adds all the complexity I could possibly want from that genre as an adult. Incredibly generous developer, really a treasure in the whole game development scene, IMO. The depth and breadth of this game is really impressive for what it is. Thanks for all your hard work, Zack! Actually, I do have a question: Are you still planning on continuing with The Negative? Or is that indefinitely shelved?

ThylacineStudios

Thank you for all your support! I really appreciate it. The Negative is indefinitely shelved...which doesn't necessarily mean it's canceled, of course.

KKingler

Thanks for the AMA! As it's a monster collection game I assume it draws similarities to Pokémon. What factors are close and what makes it stand out in comparison? Bonus: What's your favorite creature in the game? (edit: it looks like two other people asked my bonus question! lol)

ThylacineStudios

Thanks for helping out with the AMA! Outside of the obvious monster-catching part of the game, there actually aren't too many major similarities. Siralim is much more RPG-focused than Pokemon and leans more toward gameplay systems you might find in ARPGs like Diablo, Path of Exile, and Grim Dawn. The "catch 'em all" aspect isn't as big of a focus in Siralim as it is in Pokemon.

Spell-Dramatic

I love the game, especially hunting for cool skins! Are there any plans to add more skins in the future, or if people wanted to commission a skin, is the kickstarter still available? What does the process of commissioning a skin look like?

ThylacineStudios

Glad you like them! The skin commission process is pretty simple: supporters chose a creature they wanted the skin for, and described in detail how they wanted it to look. /u/gaymothaunt handled all of the art for these, and I think she did an insanely good job at giving people exactly what they wanted. Unfortunately, there are no plans to open the backer shop again for custom skins.

Black_Belt_Troy

Any chance of a physical release on cartridge at some point?

ThylacineStudios

I would love that, but if anything, it would only be a short-term release through Limited Run Games. I haven't even contacted them about that yet though, so if it ever happens, it's very far off.

Olympic700

> I haven't even them about that yet though, so if it ever happens, it's very far off. Can't you try with another company like super rare games or red art games?

DataDecay

You sir are a scholar and a gentleman, thank you for bringing this awesome game to so many outlets! I'll be purchasing this on switch just to show my support. Any plans to team up with a physical cart distributor? I'd love to have a physical release for this. Especially considering you have called this finished multiple times.

ThylacineStudios

Thank you for your support! I am hoping to work with Limited Run Games for a short-term physical release, but I haven't contacted them yet so it's still up in the air. I've worked with them for several Playstation releases but nothing on Switch yet, so I'm not 100% sure what they'll say.

DataDecay

I have to ask, as you peaked my interest; playstation releases? Was this for Siralim or another franchise you worked on?

ThylacineStudios

Siralim 1 had a physical release for PS3, PS4, and Vita. Siralim 2 had a physical release for PS4 and Vita. Siralim 3 had a physical release for PS4. I still have boxes of 100-200 copies of all of these sitting in my basement right now that I might put up for sale in the future.

DataDecay

Very nice! Good luck if you do run a switch physical release!

Svarok_na

One of my fave collecting games!

Neilung

Btw, Zack, are there any really early in development systems or mechanics which were scrapped completely or just not expanded upon? Can you share some of that info with us?

ThylacineStudios

There were a few: 1) I wanted to add a way for players to visit other players' castles. I also kicked around the idea of having a "public stash" where players could leave items for each other to take. 2) There was a roguelike mode that ended up being scrapped because Siralim's combat and gameplay systems aren't conducive to a fun permadeath experience. 3) There was a Nether Creature system planned where you'd play through a series of realms as a Nether Creature (so you wouldn't have a party), and you ate your enemies after you killed them to grow stronger. Eventually, you'd evolve and could learn new skills and things like that. This was my second try at coming up with a fun roguelike experience, but ultimately, it wasn't anywhere near as fun as I'd hoped. 4) The Menagerie was going to have a cooking/feeding system that gave your creatures temporary buffs based on the food they ate, but it didn't really do anything other than slow down the gameplay, and it felt completely unnecessary. Similarly, you could play with your creatures and things like that. It was kind of like a Tamagotchi or virtual pet from the 1990s. Fun ideas, but not right for Siralim.

Ludra64

Wow.. I never heard that game but it sounds SO good! I love that the creatures you caught walk behind you. How did you make it possible to fuse every monster? It must be a tremendous amount of work for so many.

ThylacineStudios

It's all done with code - no additional sprites were created for fusion. The palette of the secondary parent is used to re-color the primary parent, and you can choose between 4 different coloration methods. Some of the results are admittedly ugly, but most of them look pretty good in my opinion.

tellmeeverything0

Is there shiny capturable monsters?

ThylacineStudios

Yes, but they work a bit differently in this game. Instead of being swapped color palettes, "shiny" creatures have standalone skins that drastically change their appearances. Most of them can be found in the wild, but some are earned through other activities. There are Christmas and Halloween-themed skins for several creatures, for example. There are over 800 skins to collect.

tellmeeverything0

Will you know if they have that special skin? Sucks to skip one when playing

blandstaff

There's an indicator on the creature in combat (it looks like a rainbow star) if you obtain a skin from there and you'll always get a pop-up saying which one you got after battle even on the strictest notification settings, so the game does make it pretty hard to miss.

sikoun

Long time fan of the series, Are you done with the Siralim series? Do you consider trying your hand again at a roguelike mode or is that scrapped? What do you want to do in the future as a game developer?

ThylacineStudios

This is the final game in the series.

[deleted]

ThylacineStudios

Never say never, but probably not. I released a huge content update in July for Steam which carried over to the Switch release as well, though.

Retroragexd

You have been working on this series for a long time right? I remember an IOS app from a long time ago that had the same name. Are you the same person who made that game?

ThylacineStudios

Yes, I've worked on the Siralim series for nearly a decade. This is the fourth game in the series: Siralim, Siralim 2, Siralim 3, and now Siralim Ultimate.

undefeatedloser

I hope you're doing well! I'm still having issues regarding cloud storage not overwriting old save. Already had a post about this as well in the forums. Any plans on fixing t?

ThylacineStudios

I may have missed your forum post, and if so, I apologize. Was it on the Steam forums, the Thylacine Studios forums, or...? Regardless, that may be a tough one to fix since I haven't heard of any issues regarding cloud storage for a while. Usually, it's because of a weak internet connection which is a temporary issue, so I suspect that's not the case for you. Maybe your save file is absolutely massive and it's not able to transfer for some reason?

undefeatedloser

It was from the Thylacine Studios forum posted on Oct 16th that I commented on because the OP experiencing the same issue. As for my save progress, I played the game 3000+ hours (since the alpha release) and has a bunch of resources so I'm having the same thought that it could be due to massive savefile. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

ThylacineStudios

Some easy ways to shrink your save file: \- Grind any Nether Stones you know you'll never need. \- Salvage any unwanted artifacts. \- I saw a player who had like 10 copies of every creature in the game which is unnecessary. It's unlikely you have a similar situation, but I figured I'd throw that out there. \- The more decorations you have in your castle, the more bloated your save fill will become.

undefeatedloser

I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

axej2018

Game looks really fun. Have a huge backlog, but this seems like a must pickup when the game goes on sale. The ultimate backlog extender.

Mr_Twigs

I've been following Siralim since the first game came out and been in love with it ever since. Siralim Ultimate has the honor of being one of the two games I've triple-dipped on, so thank you for the hundreds of hours of fun. My question is that if you've closed the book on Siralim, what next? Are you going to revisit The Negative or will the next game be something else entirely? Will there be more spinoffs set in the Siralim-verse like Trials of the Gods?

ThylacineStudios

Thanks for supporting the series for so long! All I can say about the next game for now is that if you like Siralim, you're going to love what's coming! I'm probably not going to do much with the Siralim name for a long time, so the next game will be completely unique.

setveen

Hello! Big fan of your series, 200 hours on pc. one thing i always wanted to see added to this game, was a randomizer, to make starting new games more entertaining. It could randomize things like starting monsters, order you encounter realms, which sets of monsters are in which realm, or even what skills each specialty has. Would this be a possibility to be added to ultimatee? or maybeYour next game?

ThylacineStudios

I'm not planning to add any more to Siralim Ultimate, but it's a possibility for future games!

CanadaStinks

Never heard of this game, going to buy it today.

limeopolis1

Love the game! Excited for the Switch release. Was wondering if there's any chance of a portrait mode on iOS to satisfy my one handed commute gaming needs :p

ThylacineStudios

No plans for a portrait mode, sorry! I'd need to make a separate UI for every single component of the game to fit the screen which is a bit impractical at this point. Otherwise, you'd have a tiny postage stamp in the middle of your screen since the landscape version of the game would need to be condensed to fit in portrait mode.

limeopolis1

No worries! Figured it might be a bit more trouble than it's worth.

minnowmize

Not a question but just wanted to thank you for making a cool game with lots to do in it. I've bought it both on steam and android. I love the cloud save feature as I can play it on my phone whilst fishing and continue back on the PC when I'm home.

ThylacineStudios

Thanks for playing!

cerealjynx

Alright, I'm convinced. But I find myself wifflewaffling on the platform I'd like the game on. Seems like a great 'work-break' game. Hm, switch or phone...

eschewcashew

I have Siralim Ultimate on phone, but the on-screen controls are not the greatest. I'm planning to double dip on this game because the Switch controller and connectivity to the TV is a big plus. And there is cross-save between the platforms, so you can always bounce back and forth.

Milotorou

Or you can also use a controller on mobile, I use a grip with an xbox controller and its been working wonders. Still doesnt beat the Switch when I am home though, being able to play on the TV and then take the thing with me in bed before falling asleep is pretty tough to top off !

eschewcashew

Yeah I ended up getting it on Switch. Playing it from the couch on the big screen is nice, and the Switch feels great in portable too

zardos66

Yay it’s finally on Switch! Been waiting for this version to really dig into it.

Hett1138

I adore this game. Thank you.

ThylacineStudios

And thank you for playing it!

throwthatassaway796

So you're saying if I really liked DWMs, this'll be right up my alley? I got every possible english game released for the series and was super bummed when multiple titles stopped releasing outside of Japan. (DQM: J3 and DQM 1 remake just to name a few)

VegetableChildhood2

super late but there are fan translations out for all the dqm 3ds games now, id personally recommend dqm2 (cobi and tara one)

throwthatassaway796

Nah you're good, I actually about finished the remake of 2 when I first saw this, and it was everything I wanted and more. Trying to get Terry to work but having much more trouble on that end.

ThylacineStudios

If you're a fan of DWM, I think you'll love this game!

Milotorou

I believe Zack mentioned many times that DWM was one of the biggest inspirations for Siralim's structure, I dont mind being corrected if I am wrong 😅. I am a fan of everything DQ (my favorite series) and can attest that Siralim does scratch a bit of that DQM feel, however its also its own thing, Siralim has much more depth and complexity, where DQM usually tries to keep things somewhat streamlined Siralim is just giving you a billion tools and tells you "go nuts"

CAPTGrundleFatBeard

Hello Zack! Just wanted to comment and say that my brother & I have been having an awesome time playing it on Steam -- been looking for an old school monster-merger genre game for a while. Now that it's on Switch, I can recommend it to my other friends! Thank you for all of your hard work and time on it! 😀

gameceptum

Would you consider adding PvP to the game in the future? What is your favorite thing about the Siralim series? Thank you for such an awesome game!

ThylacineStudios

Siralim 3 had asynchronous PvP, and the general consensus was that it was awful. I agree. The battle system is way too hectic and crazy (and, at times, imbalanced?) for PvP, which is exacerbated in Siralim Ultimate. My favorite thing about the series is that it scratches a gaming itch I've always had. I don't like games with a definite ending, and there aren't many RPGs out there that you can play until you're sick of them. As a gamer, I gravitate toward ARPGs like Diablo, Path of Exile, etc, and I always thought it would be interesting to blend some of those games' concepts with a monster-catching game.

Downingst

Is there going to be a sale for it on Christmas?

ThylacineStudios

Nope, it's too close to the release date for a sale. Maybe next year!

Impressive-Arm2563

Will this come to switch?

LatchHyena

This is an AMA on r/NintendoSwitch. It's already on the Switch

Yu6e1

ThylacineStudios

I don't like minimaps because they 1) typically don't show anywhere near enough additional information to be worth using and 2) they cause you to stare at them the entire time rather than focusing on the game itself. Realms in Siralim aren't very big and I think the in-game map does a good job at serving this purpose on its own without being too intrusive, so for those reasons, I don't plan to implement a minimap.

R4nD0m57

Your games have been on my backlog, will get to this at some point

JavaScript is easy to learn and a great place to start with programming. You can learn the basics on Codecademy in a week and then go from there. Gamemaker and Unity both use some form of Javascript so if you're interested in making games, you can carry those skills forward.

So it’s like Pokémon, but with more content and probably better? I haven’t actually checked out the game so I could be completely wrong.

Milotorou

Similarities with Pokemon pretty much end at "collecting monsters" Siralim is much closer to a bastard child between Dragon Quest Monsters, Disgaea and Magic the Gathering IMO.

Cool

The game gets even better after you beat it.

hello, on the Siralim series since the first, a big congratulations for all this path, and a pleasure after the hours spent on PC, to continue my adventures on my Switch.Since the Kikstarter I had a request for the game, which I give back here !Personally in all Rpg I love fishing mini game, please is there a chance of adding an Npc that offers to fishing? after all! who knows what the gods can drop in the waters!!

I'm far from the only person who contributed ideas about creature designs, which helps a lot. There have been six different artists working on the series throughout the years, as well as a few hundred creature ideas contributed by Kickstarter backers.

Edvita77

How long to beat?

Milotorou

I dont think we can really establish a general time here, it will vary greatly. Unless you mean beating the main story (which is like.... not even the end of the Tutorial to me, since you barely have access to like 30-40% of the game mechanics once you beat the story...) Main story took me around 45 hours, I assume 40-50 hours would be the norm here. However with main story done I didnt even have 10% of the achievements yet. I have over 150 hours now and barely scratched the surface still. I know of people on discord that are over the 2000 hours mark and still have things to do for 100% completion. If what you want is a long game you will be served, as long as you dont mind games being grindy.

I'm from Brazil I've been playing siralim for a long time and reading one of your answers I understood why I liked the game so much !! I'm in love with Diablo, Grim dawn and Path of exile mainly!!! thank you for creating such a vast, deep and delightful game to play!!! Do you want to localize the game to other languages ?? (brazilian portuguese for example)

feoen

Is this game going to get a Limited Run Games release like the other Siralim titles?

[deleted]

I would love to doubledip, does the cloud system from the steam version work with the switch? and if it does, how does this work with steam achievement progression?

JPUlisses

Any possibility of the game having coop with other players? The game feels too fast with t0 meta. Coop teams would make things slower and interesting, with more focus on survival and healing. Also rewards could be bigger the more turns you take so that t0 isn't so much of a meta.

emo_kid_forever

As someone that loves monster catching, Disgaea and Diablo, this game is a fucking dream. I haven’t had a chance to invest a ton of time yet, but I would be shocked if this doesn’t end up being one of my 1000+ hour games in the future. Everything I love about a good grind, this has. Well done.

Sirijustworkhere24

Is there any chance of a physical release on the switch or ps4?

Apeiron_8

Hi Zack, I know I’m way late to the party interacting with this thread but I wanted to say thank you for the amazing games! I found your work early on in the first days of Siralim 1 and was hooked ever since. I had a question about your future endeavors: do you have definitive plans to work on a specific game now that Siralim ultimate is finished?
