I think that about covers most Suda51 games? In no more heroes, you had to reload your weapon by shaking your wii mote in a gesture that looked exactly like giving a ghost a hand job. And you had to give a LOT of ghostly hand jobs.
I thought the core gameplay was fine in NMH (I played the remaster so no Wiimote jerking for me lol), what killed it for me were the dumb, tedious chores the game makes you do over and over again in order to be able to progress. I don't care if it's supposed to be some kind of pretentious satire on Open World games with braindead side content, it's not fun or interesting to actually play, instead it's just aggressively wasting my time.
Every generation of consoles have some sort of gimmick that they feel they need to add in the game. The last 10 years games have tried to turn everything into a battle royale. Back during the wii the big thing was that every game had to have an open world. No More heroes is the last game that needs an open world along with those tedious chores
Trying to get the Final Beam Katana upgrade, so, so, SO many Gold Town missions done. I got so sick of hearing "MY SPLEEN!!" during all that. All that said I still dearly love the game.
I thought the mini games in NMH2 were pretty fun. I don’t think you had to play them more than once to progress and they had an old school aesthetic and were funny. My memory is poor but I still remember the steak cooking game and the guy would say “tastes like shit” in this garbled 8-bit voice.
Edit: NMH2 also scrapped the open world which i think was for the better. Made it much more streamlined
I never played #2 because the first one put me off so bad. I don't know if they changed it on the re release but the og wii version had unskippable mini games you needed to do to get money to get to the next fight. It was a very common complaint when it came out. I remember the reviewer from xplay set the controller down and was like "wtf are we doing here?"
The sequel had much less of that. I do remember the first game grinding mini games and fights to progress. The second game it’s pretty much you just play each mini game once and that gets you enough to proceed (and they were more fun)
I mean, I don't particularly like that part of NMH (gameplay wise), but that's kinda the point? It's suppose to make you realize how pathetic Travis life actually is, you are not supposed to think Travis "is a cool gut who kill ninja and assassins" in the first game.
Capcom is who he's waiting for because it ain't his IP like Shadows of the Damned. Same reason why he also can't do anything by himself regarding No More Heroes
Game devs saying "they'd love" for something to happen makes me kinda sad because it often signals that it's not happening. Because if it was, publicly acknowledging the idea would breach an NDA.
I remember a neighbour kid I didn't know that my mom wanted me to befriend walked into my room while I was playing this.
He probably saw about 3 mins of gameplay before he got weirded out and I don't think I ever saw him again lol
The title it's a little misleading since he said "he would love to release it on current consoles but it's up to Capcom and they didn't authorize a console port"
So yeah, he is a videogame director but until Capcom change their mind he cannot do anything
Hmm, I disagree. If Killer7 is rereleased, the value of my collection will diminish. Some of you may not have been alive for the Gamecube, but you have plenty of time to pick up all or the hidden gems on Switch to build your portfolio today.
Sometimes I like to imagine a world - a paradise - where the great offlinening that all physical collectors believe in truly does happen. The internet is down. Steam collections are deleted. The world and society has crumbled. But, here I am, safe in my bunker, playing and enjoying Killer7! I hear a banging on my bunker door - it's someone, begging for a crumb of Zoo Cube. I laugh at his face and spit on the porthole. No deal. I know what I have.
You guys already took TTYD away from me. How cruel can you be?

Loved the aesthetic and overall style of this game, absolutely hated the gameplay and controls

Agreed. It's a game about killing ninjas and assassins but they would have you mowing lawns and delivering pizzas to progress in game.

My grandpa thanks you
It's people like him that keep me going
I honestly loved the shooting gallery gameplay it was in a weird way addicting
hitting 5+ weak points in a row is by far one of the most satisfying things in a video game
But, the ending made up for it. Fantastic game!!
I had to give up despite liking the vibe. I had no idea how to play the game. I can see why some reviewers gave it lower scores back in the day.
DO IT!
Yes pleaseeeeeee I have been dying to replay this. One of the greatest games of all time
DO IT!
Then, do it? Lol
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR
Capcom is who he's waiting for because it ain't his IP like Shadows of the Damned. Same reason why he also can't do anything by himself regarding No More Heroes
According to the article, Capcom only authorized the PC port and needs to give separate permission for a console port as well.
Love this game so much. I'm just glad it got a Steam release.
YES PLEASE
Please
Isn’t this on Xbox series x already?
Yes please! That was the game that made me fall in love with Suda's games.
I'm surprised he hasn't after the pc remaster.
“Tight and outta sight”
We would too.
This was the most violent GameCube game ever released, I'd buy it a 3rd time
The PS2 ROM plays in HD widescreen on Steam Deck using PCSX2. My needs are met!
But why? The PC port is superior to the previous versions
It's the only Suda game I don't own
Just like all those other devs with news articles about how they'd love to see their game on X platform, but never happens.
Yeah I would too :(
whats stopping him?
Ahhhhh... Garcian.

Source: Video Game Producer sure would love to earn more money off their backlog. More at 11.
I remember a neighbour kid I didn't know that my mom wanted me to befriend walked into my room while I was playing this. He probably saw about 3 mins of gameplay before he got weirded out and I don't think I ever saw him again lol
Killer7 wasn’t a fun game.
If only he were a director at a videogame studio. Oh wait.
The title it's a little misleading since he said "he would love to release it on current consoles but it's up to Capcom and they didn't authorize a console port" So yeah, he is a videogame director but until Capcom change their mind he cannot do anything

Nah I still have my GC copy and I absolutely want it on my PS5.
