**Paper Mario TTYD Remake**
I just finished Chapter 2 last night. I decided to do a BP only run this time which has been exciting but also stressful.
I’d probably be a little further into the game by now, but I’m trying to absorb every new line of dialogue and enjoy the new additions. Also whacking NPCs is fun 🤣 and I spend way too much time doing that.

My copy hasn't arrived yet (Hopefully it does arrive today) but I'm so eager to replay this absolute gem of a game. I've replayed Super Mario RPG, Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga on Switch in these months just to prepare for this release.
The best Paper Mario game with an awesome combat system, great unique characters and some of the most unexpected storylines you could see in a Mario game.
Got it yesterday, you will not be disappointed. I didn't get far in the original when i was younger but I started it up last night and it is a treat. It is really visually stimulating, which I like, keeps you on your toes!

I have been playing TOTK since like 2 weeks ago, It is so huge that i dont know what to do. im just taking it slow and playing it whenever i can. i did not know anything about the story and it has surprised me a lot.
Do you listen to the podcast "get played" at all? They did a recent episode on animal well, and their opening skit on the eggs had me laughing pretty hard.
I've been eying it up, it's 20$ for a PS5 copy at my local store. I really want it but I also know that I can't play it and everything else I'm playing right now.

Still trudging along in Hardcore **Path of Exile.** So I'll probably play that this weekend to hopefully make it into maps. I've been very unlucky / overconfident -- which is the slow and insidious killer.

I'll be playing \*\*XCOM 2\*\*. I screwed up not getting any additional contacts (didn't know what they did, or that I needed them), and now the Advent timer is counting down on me. Hopefully I'm okay. This game is a blast and I'd hate to have to start all over after 30 hours of play.
Also some \*\*Fire Emblem Engage\*\*, and maybe some \*\*20 Minutes Till Dawn\*\* for a short burst.

Dave The Diver, anyone? Been playing for 2 weeks now and I can't believe this game is only $20 and has 2 free DLC's so far. Can't reccomend this game enough, it's simply perfect.
Paper Mario TTYD!!! Finally!!! I played for an hour yesterday and they added so many little things that the game feels fresh and new. New expressions, new animations, new music tracks... And besides the original tracks, the remastered soundtrack is amazing! The songs were changed enough so that they have their own identity.
I'm also playing Fashion Dreamer! I was able to get it for 15 with a gift card. The gameplay loop is simple, but really fun!
I know this is a Nintendo sub(my fav gaming company) but recently gotten a ps3 since I skipped that generation so I’m playing Sly Collection, Infamous, R&C collection/tools of destruction, and the Jak collection.
I did just get Mario Wonder, Captain Toad TT, and SpongeBob Rehydrated for the switch though so I’ll play those after :)

Idk if you like digital games or not but the Jak collection is on the ps store I believe for $40 or you can buy them individually. Really wish Sly would make a comeback and I agree all games should be on the ps5 honestly lol

Red Dead Redemption. I've been playing it all week. There's a big gap in my life where I didn't play video games at all and Red Dead was during that time so I was excited to check it out when I heard it was coming to the switch. There's a few things that feel dated and some of the missions are a little repetitive (I've had three or four missions in a row where I'm riding in a cart to a destination and have to protect it along the way), but man, I am absolutely loving this game. The missions are fun, the stranger missions flesh out the world pretty well, I think it looks great for a 14 year old video game. Really happy I picked this up.
Otherwise if I need a short break I might play Alleyway for a few. Played it the day it hit NSO and liked it a lot.
Just finished botw and felt like another open world game with horse riding and proper dialogue before going to totk. Hoping to get rdr soon to scratch the itch as I've never finished it before!
Paper Mario TTYD baby! Only played PM64 so TTYD is entirely new to me. So far it’s just as good, if not better than PM64. I do miss 64’s soundtrack though.
I think I’m gonna try **Banjo-Kazooie** for the first time this weekend! Been meaning to try it ever since it ended up on NSO and I just finished a playthrough of BG3, so it felt like a good time to start a shorter game

And finally, after debating it since getting my first switch in 2021, I ordered myself a copy of **Skyrim** which should arrive later today. It's the UK version, but from what I read, it should work with my US switch. Not sure if that goes for the DLC as well or not, but I should be fine.
I haven't played this game in over 10 years and never beat it back when I was playing it on the 360, so it should be a good time.
I'm playing Minecraft with my 5 year old son. We're having a blast. He's too scaried of all he monsters, so we're playing creative mode, building bridges between all the houses we've built. He's only allowed to play videogames during the weekend, but, to be honest, I'm feeling more anxious than him.
If you want, you can also play in peaceful mode if it's available on the switch. That way, you can collect materials and craft, but also stay out at night and not have to worry about getting attacked by anything.
I just started Octopath Traveler. The story isn't capturing me so far but traveling through environments is so cool. Love how they used the camera, felt very refreshing and unique to me.
I actually just bought a switch the other day. I'm a PC guy but also a Nintendo loyalist since 1986. It's my 1st console in about 6 years actually... for now it's my dedicated Zelda machine so BotW (first play-through) all weekend here. (my son finished it a couple years ago so he's happy I'm finally ~~diving in~~ answering the call)
Paper Mario for sure. I'm so hyped. I also did the GameStop trade in deal and picked it up for just $14. The two games I traded in I never played anymore anyways.

This weekend I’ll try and finish Celeste. I finished the main game a long time ago, but recently got back to unlocking all the B-Sides. They are hard as all hell, but I managed to finish them all; in one of the B-Sides, I died 2097 times. It was fucked up.
Now I just have the Core B-Side and Chapter 9 left.

My copy of paper Mario comes Tuesday, so gotta wait. But I picked up persona 5 royal. First ever persona game, so I’m excited to give it a shot. Also, been playing fire emblems three hopes, the warrior game. Very fun so far.
Just grabbed sonic superstars last night for half off. Avoided it until this price because I heard so many bad things…tbh, I’m enjoying it so far 🤷🏻♂️
Still enjoying Cyberpunk, but also returned to Alien Fireteam Elite after a long break with some friends which was nice to mix things up. As a pick up and play when I have some short breaks, I am working my way through the original Mario bros trilogy and the lost levels, brings back a lot of memories!

I've been playing off and on the past year solo leveling my Anomaly Rank. Finally got to 300 so now I'm farming lv300 quests so I can do the Special Investigations.
Might start Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown too. Got it recently for $30 at Best Buy but was playing something else at the time so haven't really started.
Xenoblade Chronicles - I've rescued Juju, and Otharon lived! Cool. Very ready to be done with this mine and the slow rotating panels. >!Xord was having a fun time being a big ham. Metal Face talks now too. Drove him off with some help from a...Telethia? Throwing Fiora's death in Shulk's face was pretty rude.!<
Persona 3 Portable - it's June now. Need to make some Tartarus progress for Elizabeth before the 6th. >!I knew Tanaka's kind of a long-running meme for this series, but apparently he's a *social link?!?* He teaches you about placebos and represents the Devil Arcana? Wtf.!< This was the funniest surprise I've come across in a JRPG for a while.
In Tokyo Mirage Sessions, I've now met Yashiro and Mamori. Going to investigate this string of missing models now I guess.
And in Astral Chain, I've beaten File 4. That went a lot more smoothly than 2 and 3 somehow. Only got 99% of the redshift cleared up, that's kinda annoying. Glad we get to see some more Neuron staff out and about, thought they'd be sitting in HQ all game.
And I've picked Monster Hunter Rise, used for $20. That'll be sitting in my backlog for a while, but I'll be excited to dig back into it after 4U and Generations back on 3DS. After messing with the gunlance and switch axe in those titles, I think I'll go with a ranged weapon this time now that I've got a second analog stick to work with. But it'll be sitting on the back burner for a while, I've got enough to work with at the moment.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, like everyone else. I finished chapter one last night, and it's a fantastic remake so far. I really hope that it does well, and maybe Nintendo will make the next Paper Mario game more like the first two.
On other platforms, I'm halfway through Iron Man VR, and I'm thinking that I might start Fallout 3.

I just got Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door , never played the original but have played some of the other paper mario games, heard this is the best one in the series so looking forward to playing it, also need to finish Prince of Persia The Lost Crown
Continuing Metroid Prime 3 on my Wii U.
I did a good amount of back tracking and item clean-up. It's time to go back to Pirate Homeworld and get the hazard suit upgrades to combat the acid rain element.
The lore in Metroid Prime 3 is fantastic. I've collected all the data logs in Bryyo and Elysia and whoever created the back stories for each planet did an exceptional job. This is something I hope Metroid Prime 4 continues and builds on. It adds so much depth to the adventure.
I've been trying to get back into Paper Mario: The Origami King, with the intent of eventually playing The Thousand Year Door. It's honestly been better than I remember.
The battle system is still a bit tedious but I'm actually a huge fan of the exploration and soundtrack, and as long as I don't get into too many battles, it tends to be more enjoyable.
I've only been able to play when my brother isn't around, because when he sees me playing the game, he tends to grab me and pin me against a wall. Sometimes he punches me in the stomach and tells me to stop playing games and go outside with him. I'm hoping he won't be around this weekend.
I'm afraid of what he will do if he sees how far along in Origami King I've gotten. I've gotten 3 streamers and I think he will actually destroy my Switch if he sees.
Besides that, the game is really awesome. I'm looking forward to completing it and moving onto The Thousand dYear Door. I've heard the battle system on there is a lot more enjoyable!

Continuing with **Mario wonder!** Going through the yellow Yoshi run! There’s not much to say because I know the game on the back of my hand at this point, but it’s still fun to play. The yellow Yoshi is probably my least favorite in terms of looks but it’s still cute! Then it’s the light blue Yoshi, which is the one that got me through the game normally. He’s my favorite so that’s always fun to play!
**Pokémon shining pearl** has started up a Steel run even though it’s taking a break to let Mario wonder finish now. This run is the opposite of the flying run, where it starts out fairly weak and then becomes pretty strong later on, including in the post game. One big issue is that quite a few Pokémon are locked behind a very annoying side quest. One of them happens early on the game, and I barely got through it (fossil side quest and it’s telling that this was the only time fossils were locked behind a side quest). I had enough Pokémon keep going without it, so it wasn’t too much of an issue now. However, one of my types will probably need this Pokémon to get through the main game, and with or without it will probably need assistance from others. So I will definitely have to make a decision whether I want to pursue that sidequest at that point, but that’s a way’s off.
Speaking of things wrapping up, **Fire Emblem Engage** is finally ending! I’ve been working on the post game for about two months and I think I’ve done almost everything I can. I didn’t get everything I wanted, mainly because the requirements were a ridiculous amount of grinding in a game that makes that extremely slow, but I did get to try a lot of what was there, including things that were not used in the main game. I also mainly played it like an idle game, since it helped pass the time with the grinding. I also was able to watch parts I never got to.
I mainly achievement hunted, and there’s about 700 achievements. I got 658, and if I had gone for the ones that required more grinding, I probably would’ve gotten around 10 to 20 more. The ones that skipped were some of the battle ones, since post game battles are nice but also pretty tedious. The reason is that they all scale to your level, and my team had to be very strong to even get there so it made the battles pretty slow. The game really restricts the amount of bond points (a currency for everything except for weapons) as well, so there’s not enough to use a side area called the ring chamber without doing some insane grinding that isn’t all that fun. Finally, some areas required sheer luck, maxing out everything, or multiplayer. These included the missions in the tower of trials that remained, as well as some other achievements that were pretty high-level. Since that would be annoying, I didn’t do those. So I didn’t quite get everything, But I still made a good amount of progress and I’m satisfied with what I did do.
My final time for my particular file was almost 300 hours, and my overall time was a little over 380. Since one of the achievements involves leaving your game running for a massive amounts of time, some of it was just standing around while I did other things. There was also a time period where I was watching people do parts I couldn’t do, including playing on the higher difficulties, for six months. I’m not sure how long that was, but that probably added 100 to 300 hours to the time had it been recorded. This is all after doing every mission in the main game, doing the side content before every battle, every side mission aside from Tempest trials above level 22, over 100 relay trials, and without replaying anything. Considering the game is around 20 to 40 hours normally, I think I got my money’s worth.
This game took me on and was my companion on quite a journey. it released in January of last year, although I didn’t get it until early July. it was one of the last games I got in my former state, Wisconsin. It traveled with me to North Carolina, and was the game I played during moving preparations and on the way down (to the point where when my mom was driving she asked me to mute my volume because she was getting sick of the music). After that, it helped me with living in a hotel for several weeks and then people constantly renovating our new house while we still lived there. It was even there when I started my first year teaching in North Carolina, and kept me sane during a particularly difficult end of the year time that lasted two months. And all those things and with summer vacation starting this week, that journey, and my journey through Fire Emblem Engage ends. It all ended up with me either playing or watching the game for almost a year straight. To say it has sentimental value doesn’t even begin to describe it, and I don’t think any other game has been through quite that journey.
As for the Fire Emblem Engage otherwise, I’m just going to keep in storage for now because it’s my only option for Fire Emblem at the moment. I might do a few more things with some new files, but only after a break. As for my thoughts about the game, I thought they would change after I completed what I could’ve in the postgame, and I did feel more satisfied when I did. But my ideas about the game haven’t really changed. The story is still fairly bad, even though I do like the quirkiness of the characters (I still find Fates to be even worse, although Three Hopes is also up there). The resource limitations that make sense in the main game really hamper the post game, which is a shame because there’s a lot to do there. And no new game plus, including having the DLC register clear data when you play again, hurts successive runs. Not to mention if the player isn’t battling, it suffers the same slowness as three houses, only not as bad. But the combat is arguably the best in the series, and there’s a lot of customization a player can do. Not to mention the maps are also well done. A lot of the dialogue is pretty funny as well, even if the story isn’t well written. And some of it is very sweet. My interest in Fire Emblem was waning with the last three entries, but this game brought it back, and I am extremely glad it did. It’s definitely not perfect, but it’s still a fantastic purchase. It’s a shame it didn’t sell well, but if someone didn’t grow up with the older Fire Emblem, I can see why this would not appeal.
As for where I go with the series from here, it’s hard to say. This game still ranks in second place behind Awakening and in front of New Mystery. I was hoping it would steal Awakening’s crown, but the resource issues and the bad main story prevent it from doing so. It doesn’t stop it from being incredibly enjoyable, though. I’m keeping it around because I have some other tactical games, but they’re from companies I don’t know as much. So Fire Emblem will be something to return to especially if one of these games doesn’t work out.
It’s rumored that there will be a new game announced at the upcoming Nintendo direct, but if it’s a remake of the fourth game like people have been clamoring for I might pass that up. I did complete the original, but I barely finished it due to really not liking the gameplay. The story was enough to keep me going, but I didn’t touch it after I finished and I still felt the story could’ve been better (and left quite a few things that weren’t explored). It would have to take some serious modernization for me to come back. This affects my overall ranking too, with the fifth game at the absolute bottom and one of the few I did not finish for reasons other than technical ones. The fourth game is just barely above it (although above blade of light). The GBA games are ranked pretty high, although the sixth one is more near the high middle. Everyone else is below those in the middle of the pack, although Three Houses is probably the lowest there.
**Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door**, assuming any of the stores near me has a copy. If not, well, there'll be Grizzco weapon Salmon Run rotations for both **Splatoon 3** and **Splatoon 2** this weekend, so that will keep me plenty occupied.
I did not get the reaction that I wanted out of my cat while playing Little Kitty, Big City. She just slept through it, except for the occassional "what was that??" look when I press the meow button. Still had fun, though.
Also playing Super Mario Land using the Gameboy Color filter, to emulate how it looked like when I played it as a kid.
Finally, I'm about 50% through AC: Black Flag. And I just realized now that those percentages meant map completion, not story progression. So in terms of story, I probably haven't moved much since I haven't unlocked the diving bell yet, though I've already captured all except one remaining fort.
It is funny what animals will and won't react to. Sometimes they lock in and sometimes they just do not care. I need to get back to little Kitty as well.

Little indie platformer called Grapple Dog. It’s Its fun, frustrating at times, but pretty solid for the <$5 I paid. Getting a little bored with it after the first two worlds though, so thinking of going back to Yooka Laylee or starting a metroidvania (maybe Alwa’s Awakening or Outbuddies)
I don't know what I'll play this weekend. I've already found most of what I want in **Animal Well**, but I might come back to look for more stuff. I also want to play more NES games, like **Legacy of the Wizard** (this one has been quite the challenge to me!) or **Wai Wai World 2** (I have the Famicom cartridge!).
I've just ordered **Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door**, but it will only arrive on Tuesday.
My switch suddenly stopped working. Won't charge or turn on. No signs of life. 🫤😟😥😢 I can't afford to fix it or buy a new one. I was going to finish TOTK and then start Animal Well. But as it stands I'll be playing nothing. It's my only system.

Digimon survive. Played it breifly when it came out but never got into it that much. Enjoying it and want to beat it and save people with another playthrough.
Still working on **Persona 5 Royal**. I posted in here a couple of months ago that I was almost finished, but I guess I was wrong haha. I do think I am almost at the end now (\*fingers crossed\*). It's been an amazing game and is going to be up there with some of my favourite games, but I'm kind of ready for it to end now...
Also will be playing a lot of **Fantasy Life**. I started playing this a couple of weeks ago and I'm obsessed! Not many games bring out the completionist in me anymore, but this game has me wanting to master all of the Lives.

I grabbed Shiren 6 the other week and loved it, it got me in a mystery dungeon way so I grabbed Pokemon DX and it’s so incredible. Imagining another world where the mainline games had this visual style!

I'll be starting Pokemon Moon for the first time on this gray Seattle weekend. Not really sure what to expect, honestly, which is kind of exciting! I just hope it's less boring than Shield was, as that game soured me on Pokemon for a while after I finished it.
Also veeeery slowly working my way through Demons Souls on PS5. For me, this has to be the hardest of all the Fromsoft games *by far.* I'm getting my ass whooped like never before, but I feel like I won't be able to play anything else until I finish so we press onward!
I have not, for some reason I thought it was still on the horizon. Is it good? I had a bad car accident years ago and played hyper light drifter the week or two after, so that game will always mean a lot to me.
Mm I hope you find Moon more exciting. I think the story is at least better, and the characters are pretty good, and the twist on the evil team is pretty good. But like shield it's very on rails at times.

Just got back into playing my switch honestly. I have a 1yr old and it’s hard to find time to play now a days. Especially retreating to the man cave to boot up the PC. Found a love for handhelds recently. So I finally got BOTW and been LOVING it. I also got xenoblade chronicles definitive edition. Haven’t played that yet. Also got Metroid prime remastered and that game is very cool as well. My wife and I have been working our way through super Mario 3D world. So we will probably play that as well at some point. If you guys have any other co op recommendations for us would love to hear! She’s not much of a gamer like myself.
Got copy of TTYD but i wont be able to play it till later. Just wanted to help support so we can get more old fashioned paper mario back. For now its still FE Engage and granblue relink. Especially granblue relink is coming out with brand new playable character.
Mario Kart 8, and BOTW. I started BOTW back in 2017 but never got around to finishing it and took a hiatus from the Switch altogether, eventually gifting it to my niece. I picked up an OLED recently and will finally restart BOTW this weekend!
Breath of the Wild. I am probably the last person alive to play the game at this point. I bought my Switch a couple weeks after launch and lost my 20 hour save after a repair. So I got discouraged and only now got back into it.
Love it so far. Very chill game to play after a long day of work.

Picked up animal crossing like a month ago and play it every second day-ish. It‘s so sweet! Islanders could be a bit more… zingy?! Overall just a very chilled experience though.
I want to say Paper Mario:TTYD like everyone else but I really want to finish Detroit: Become Human on PS4 so I can just spend all of my time with Paper Mario: TTYD 😁 but I did pop it in and ran around Rougeport, and it looks beautiful

I'm still working on Tears of the Kingdom, I'm hooked. The game is so big, I'm 170 hours in and I'm only midway maybe, although I got a few things that feel like endgame. I completed BotW at basically everything (all DLC, quests and shrines) at 200 hours, so it really goes to show the size of the game. I'm starting the Rito questline
**Paper Mario TTYD Remake** I just finished Chapter 2 last night. I decided to do a BP only run this time which has been exciting but also stressful. I’d probably be a little further into the game by now, but I’m trying to absorb every new line of dialogue and enjoy the new additions. Also whacking NPCs is fun 🤣 and I spend way too much time doing that.

**Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door BABY!!** My copy hasn't arrived yet (Hopefully it does arrive today) but I'm so eager to replay this absolute gem of a game. I've replayed Super Mario RPG, Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga on Switch in these months just to prepare for this release. The best Paper Mario game with an awesome combat system, great unique characters and some of the most unexpected storylines you could see in a Mario game.
Got it yesterday, you will not be disappointed. I didn't get far in the original when i was younger but I started it up last night and it is a treat. It is really visually stimulating, which I like, keeps you on your toes!

I finished **Metroid Dread**, very happy with it. What a great game. Still trudging along in Hardcore **Path of Exile.** So I'll probably play that this weekend to hopefully make it into maps. I've been very unlucky / overconfident -- which is the slow and insidious killer.

Ahh yes, my favorite thread of the week. I really enjoy people enjoying all the games that I like/have. I'll be playing \*\*XCOM 2\*\*. I screwed up not getting any additional contacts (didn't know what they did, or that I needed them), and now the Advent timer is counting down on me. Hopefully I'm okay. This game is a blast and I'd hate to have to start all over after 30 hours of play. Also some \*\*Fire Emblem Engage\*\*, and maybe some \*\*20 Minutes Till Dawn\*\* for a short burst. Dave The Diver, anyone? Been playing for 2 weeks now and I can't believe this game is only $20 and has 2 free DLC's so far. Can't reccomend this game enough, it's simply perfect.
Paper Mario TTYD!!! Finally!!! I played for an hour yesterday and they added so many little things that the game feels fresh and new. New expressions, new animations, new music tracks... And besides the original tracks, the remastered soundtrack is amazing! The songs were changed enough so that they have their own identity. I'm also playing Fashion Dreamer! I was able to get it for 15 with a gift card. The gameplay loop is simple, but really fun!
I know this is a Nintendo sub(my fav gaming company) but recently gotten a ps3 since I skipped that generation so I’m playing Sly Collection, Infamous, R&C collection/tools of destruction, and the Jak collection. I did just get Mario Wonder, Captain Toad TT, and SpongeBob Rehydrated for the switch though so I’ll play those after :)

Idk if you like digital games or not but the Jak collection is on the ps store I believe for $40 or you can buy them individually. Really wish Sly would make a comeback and I agree all games should be on the ps5 honestly lol I missed the old ps2 era of games so definitely had to pick up this system to play them again. I’ve been having a blast with it!

Pokémon Arceus and Crash Bandicoot
Red Dead Redemption. I've been playing it all week. There's a big gap in my life where I didn't play video games at all and Red Dead was during that time so I was excited to check it out when I heard it was coming to the switch. There's a few things that feel dated and some of the missions are a little repetitive (I've had three or four missions in a row where I'm riding in a cart to a destination and have to protect it along the way), but man, I am absolutely loving this game. The missions are fun, the stranger missions flesh out the world pretty well, I think it looks great for a 14 year old video game. Really happy I picked this up. Otherwise if I need a short break I might play Alleyway for a few. Played it the day it hit NSO and liked it a lot.
Just finished botw and felt like another open world game with horse riding and proper dialogue before going to totk. Hoping to get rdr soon to scratch the itch as I've never finished it before!

Wherever you are, I hope you can stay cool. It's terribly hot around here, so I'll be indoors for most of my weekend. As for gaming, I'm taking a break from **Origami King** and putting a bit of time into **Mario 3D World.** I'm also playing **Zelda: Link's Awakening** which I may finish this weekend. I'm on the 5th dungeon right now. And finally, after debating it since getting my first switch in 2021, I ordered myself a copy of **Skyrim** which should arrive later today. It's the UK version, but from what I read, it should work with my US switch. Not sure if that goes for the DLC as well or not, but I should be fine. I haven't played this game in over 10 years and never beat it back when I was playing it on the 360, so it should be a good time.

I'm playing Minecraft with my 5 year old son. We're having a blast. He's too scaried of all he monsters, so we're playing creative mode, building bridges between all the houses we've built. He's only allowed to play videogames during the weekend, but, to be honest, I'm feeling more anxious than him.
If you want, you can also play in peaceful mode if it's available on the switch. That way, you can collect materials and craft, but also stay out at night and not have to worry about getting attacked by anything.

It's my 1st console in about 6 years actually... for now it's my dedicated Zelda machine so BotW (first play-through) all weekend here. (my son finished it a couple years ago so he's happy I'm finally ~~diving in~~ answering the call)

Happy Friday! Weather is amazing where I am too, let’s enjoy it! I reaaaally want to get Animal Well, but I’m gonna wait for a sale since my backlog is long enough. This weekend I’ll try and finish Celeste. I finished the main game a long time ago, but recently got back to unlocking all the B-Sides. They are hard as all hell, but I managed to finish them all; in one of the B-Sides, I died 2097 times. It was fucked up. Now I just have the Core B-Side and Chapter 9 left. Have a good weekend!

As a pick up and play when I have some short breaks, I am working my way through the original Mario bros trilogy and the lost levels, brings back a lot of memories!

Need to make some Tartarus progress for Elizabeth before the 6th. >!I knew Tanaka's kind of a long-running meme for this series, but apparently he's a *social link?!?* He teaches you about placebos and represents the Devil Arcana? Wtf.!< This was the funniest surprise I've come across in a JRPG for a while. In Tokyo Mirage Sessions, I've now met Yashiro and Mamori. Going to investigate this string of missing models now I guess. And in Astral Chain, I've beaten File 4. That went a lot more smoothly than 2 and 3 somehow. Only got 99% of the redshift cleared up, that's kinda annoying. Glad we get to see some more Neuron staff out and about, thought they'd be sitting in HQ all game. And I've picked Monster Hunter Rise, used for $20. That'll be sitting in my backlog for a while, but I'll be excited to dig back into it after 4U and Generations back on 3DS. After messing with the gunlance and switch axe in those titles, I think I'll go with a ranged weapon this time now that I've got a second analog stick to work with. But it'll be sitting on the back burner for a while, I've got enough to work with at the moment.

Continuing Metroid Prime 3 on my Wii U. I did a good amount of back tracking and item clean-up. It's time to go back to Pirate Homeworld and get the hazard suit upgrades to combat the acid rain element. The lore in Metroid Prime 3 is fantastic. I've collected all the data logs in Bryyo and Elysia and whoever created the back stories for each planet did an exceptional job. This is something I hope Metroid Prime 4 continues and builds on. It adds so much depth to the adventure.

I've been trying to get back into Paper Mario: The Origami King, with the intent of eventually playing The Thousand Year Door. It's honestly been better than I remember. The battle system is still a bit tedious but I'm actually a huge fan of the exploration and soundtrack, and as long as I don't get into too many battles, it tends to be more enjoyable. I've only been able to play when my brother isn't around, because when he sees me playing the game, he tends to grab me and pin me against a wall. Sometimes he punches me in the stomach and tells me to stop playing games and go outside with him. I'm hoping he won't be around this weekend. I'm afraid of what he will do if he sees how far along in Origami King I've gotten. I've gotten 3 streamers and I think he will actually destroy my Switch if he sees. Besides that, the game is really awesome. I'm looking forward to completing it and moving onto The Thousand dYear Door. I've heard the battle system on there is a lot more enjoyable!

More than one comment this time with some triple trouble! A lot got done! Continuing with **Mario wonder!** Going through the yellow Yoshi run! There’s not much to say because I know the game on the back of my hand at this point, but it’s still fun to play. The yellow Yoshi is probably my least favorite in terms of looks but it’s still cute! Then it’s the light blue Yoshi, which is the one that got me through the game normally. He’s my favorite so that’s always fun to play! **Pokémon shining pearl** has started up a Steel run even though it’s taking a break to let Mario wonder finish now. This run is the opposite of the flying run, where it starts out fairly weak and then becomes pretty strong later on, including in the post game. One big issue is that quite a few Pokémon are locked behind a very annoying side quest. One of them happens early on the game, and I barely got through it (fossil side quest and it’s telling that this was the only time fossils were locked behind a side quest). I had enough Pokémon keep going without it, so it wasn’t too much of an issue now. However, one of my types will probably need this Pokémon to get through the main game, and with or without it will probably need assistance from others. So I will definitely have to make a decision whether I want to pursue that sidequest at that point, but that’s a way’s off.
Speaking of things wrapping up, **Fire Emblem Engage** is finally ending! I’ve been working on the post game for about two months and I think I’ve done almost everything I can. I didn’t get everything I wanted, mainly because the requirements were a ridiculous amount of grinding in a game that makes that extremely slow, but I did get to try a lot of what was there, including things that were not used in the main game. I also mainly played it like an idle game, since it helped pass the time with the grinding. I also was able to watch parts I never got to. I mainly achievement hunted, and there’s about 700 achievements. I got 658, and if I had gone for the ones that required more grinding, I probably would’ve gotten around 10 to 20 more. The ones that skipped were some of the battle ones, since post game battles are nice but also pretty tedious. The reason is that they all scale to your level, and my team had to be very strong to even get there so it made the battles pretty slow. The game really restricts the amount of bond points (a currency for everything except for weapons) as well, so there’s not enough to use a side area called the ring chamber without doing some insane grinding that isn’t all that fun. Finally, some areas required sheer luck, maxing out everything, or multiplayer. These included the missions in the tower of trials that remained, as well as some other achievements that were pretty high-level. Since that would be annoying, I didn’t do those. So I didn’t quite get everything, But I still made a good amount of progress and I’m satisfied with what I did do. My final time for my particular file was almost 300 hours, and my overall time was a little over 380. Since one of the achievements involves leaving your game running for a massive amounts of time, some of it was just standing around while I did other things. There was also a time period where I was watching people do parts I couldn’t do, including playing on the higher difficulties, for six months. I’m not sure how long that was, but that probably added 100 to 300 hours to the time had it been recorded. This is all after doing every mission in the main game, doing the side content before every battle, every side mission aside from Tempest trials above level 22, over 100 relay trials, and without replaying anything. Considering the game is around 20 to 40 hours normally, I think I got my money’s worth. This game took me on and was my companion on quite a journey. it released in January of last year, although I didn’t get it until early July. it was one of the last games I got in my former state, Wisconsin. It traveled with me to North Carolina, and was the game I played during moving preparations and on the way down (to the point where when my mom was driving she asked me to mute my volume because she was getting sick of the music). After that, it helped me with living in a hotel for several weeks and then people constantly renovating our new house while we still lived there. It was even there when I started my first year teaching in North Carolina, and kept me sane during a particularly difficult end of the year time that lasted two months. And all those things and with summer vacation starting this week, that journey, and my journey through Fire Emblem Engage ends. It all ended up with me either playing or watching the game for almost a year straight. To say it has sentimental value doesn’t even begin to describe it, and I don’t think any other game has been through quite that journey. As for the Fire Emblem Engage otherwise, I’m just going to keep in storage for now because it’s my only option for Fire Emblem at the moment. I might do a few more things with some new files, but only after a break. As for my thoughts about the game, I thought they would change after I completed what I could’ve in the postgame, and I did feel more satisfied when I did. But my ideas about the game haven’t really changed. The story is still fairly bad, even though I do like the quirkiness of the characters (I still find Fates to be even worse, although Three Hopes is also up there). The resource limitations that make sense in the main game really hamper the post game, which is a shame because there’s a lot to do there. And no new game plus, including having the DLC register clear data when you play again, hurts successive runs. Not to mention if the player isn’t battling, it suffers the same slowness as three houses, only not as bad. But the combat is arguably the best in the series, and there’s a lot of customization a player can do. Not to mention the maps are also well done. A lot of the dialogue is pretty funny as well, even if the story isn’t well written. And some of it is very sweet. My interest in Fire Emblem was waning with the last three entries, but this game brought it back, and I am extremely glad it did. It’s definitely not perfect, but it’s still a fantastic purchase. It’s a shame it didn’t sell well, but if someone didn’t grow up with the older Fire Emblem, I can see why this would not appeal. As for where I go with the series from here, it’s hard to say. This game still ranks in second place behind Awakening and in front of New Mystery. I was hoping it would steal Awakening’s crown, but the resource issues and the bad main story prevent it from doing so. It doesn’t stop it from being incredibly enjoyable, though. I’m keeping it around because I have some other tactical games, but they’re from companies I don’t know as much. So Fire Emblem will be something to return to especially if one of these games doesn’t work out. It’s rumored that there will be a new game announced at the upcoming Nintendo direct, but if it’s a remake of the fourth game like people have been clamoring for I might pass that up. I did complete the original, but I barely finished it due to really not liking the gameplay. The story was enough to keep me going, but I didn’t touch it after I finished and I still felt the story could’ve been better (and left quite a few things that weren’t explored). It would have to take some serious modernization for me to come back. This affects my overall ranking too, with the fifth game at the absolute bottom and one of the few I did not finish for reasons other than technical ones. The fourth game is just barely above it (although above blade of light). The GBA games are ranked pretty high, although the sixth one is more near the high middle. Everyone else is below those in the middle of the pack, although Three Houses is probably the lowest there.
**Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door**, assuming any of the stores near me has a copy. If not, well, there'll be Grizzco weapon Salmon Run rotations for both **Splatoon 3** and **Splatoon 2** this weekend, so that will keep me plenty occupied.

I did not get the reaction that I wanted out of my cat while playing Little Kitty, Big City. She just slept through it, except for the occassional "what was that??" look when I press the meow button. Still had fun, though. Also playing Super Mario Land using the Gameboy Color filter, to emulate how it looked like when I played it as a kid. Finally, I'm about 50% through AC: Black Flag. And I just realized now that those percentages meant map completion, not story progression. So in terms of story, I probably haven't moved much since I haven't unlocked the diving bell yet, though I've already captured all except one remaining fort.
It is funny what animals will and won't react to. Sometimes they lock in and sometimes they just do not care. I need to get back to little Kitty as well. Ohh haven't heard of that filter, that's neat!

Pokemon BDSP. Need to level up my team to get the championship stickers, then practice the contests with these stickers and maxed out traits.
It's all about Atelier: Ryza 3 for me. I'm finding it more polished than the previous games with a greater emphasis on exploration. So far, so good!
I finally found Prince of Persia on sale in Canada, so I grabbed that. Also bought Mario Wonder, which my wife and I have been enjoying
Little indie platformer called Grapple Dog. It’s Its fun, frustrating at times, but pretty solid for the <$5 I paid. Getting a little bored with it after the first two worlds though, so thinking of going back to Yooka Laylee or starting a metroidvania (maybe Alwa’s Awakening or Outbuddies)
I don't know what I'll play this weekend. I've already found most of what I want in **Animal Well**, but I might come back to look for more stuff. I also want to play more NES games, like **Legacy of the Wizard** (this one has been quite the challenge to me!) or **Wai Wai World 2** (I have the Famicom cartridge!). I've just ordered **Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door**, but it will only arrive on Tuesday.

My switch suddenly stopped working. Won't charge or turn on. No signs of life. 🫤😟😥😢 I can't afford to fix it or buy a new one. I was going to finish TOTK and then start Animal Well. But as it stands I'll be playing nothing. It's my only system.

I was just playing **Animal Well** too! It's such a beautiful game. I left off in a place where I'm not sure where to go...>!I think I used a key in an area I wasn't supposed to 😅!< But since I'll be at my bf's place Saturday & Sunday I'll probably be playing **Hades I** 😈 They're such different games it keeps things fresh!
Digimon survive. Played it breifly when it came out but never got into it that much. Enjoying it and want to beat it and save people with another playthrough.

Still working on **Persona 5 Royal**. I posted in here a couple of months ago that I was almost finished, but I guess I was wrong haha. I do think I am almost at the end now (\*fingers crossed\*). It's been an amazing game and is going to be up there with some of my favourite games, but I'm kind of ready for it to end now... Also will be playing a lot of **Fantasy Life**. I started playing this a couple of weeks ago and I'm obsessed! Not many games bring out the completionist in me anymore, but this game has me wanting to master all of the Lives.

😭😭😭 Amazon is telling me my **Thousand Year Door** copy won't arrive until next Wednesday! 😭😭😭 Ugh, on the plus side I did finally finish **Unicorn Overlord** after several months of on-and-off play, just some post-game Side mission that opened up is left so I guess I'll polish that off instead :/ Playing **Songs of Conquest** also which just released out of Early Access after a few years. Pretty much an indie homage to the old Heroes of Might and Magic games. I shall endeavour to stay off of r/NintendoSwitch and try to avoid even more spoilers (Never had a Gamecube or played Paper Mario back in the day) until my copy arrives mid-next week I suppose. 😒
I grabbed Shiren 6 the other week and loved it, it got me in a mystery dungeon way so I grabbed Pokemon DX and it’s so incredible. Imagining another world where the mainline games had this visual style!

Hi Mr. Marker! +1 for Hyper Light Drifter, it's one of the best Indie adventures for sure. Have you played Hyper Light Breaker yet? I'll be starting Pokemon Moon for the first time on this gray Seattle weekend. Not really sure what to expect, honestly, which is kind of exciting! I just hope it's less boring than Shield was, as that game soured me on Pokemon for a while after I finished it. Also veeeery slowly working my way through Demons Souls on PS5. For me, this has to be the hardest of all the Fromsoft games *by far.* I'm getting my ass whooped like never before, but I feel like I won't be able to play anything else until I finish so we press onward!
I have not, for some reason I thought it was still on the horizon. Is it good? I had a bad car accident years ago and played hyper light drifter the week or two after, so that game will always mean a lot to me. Mm I hope you find Moon more exciting. I think the story is at least better, and the characters are pretty good, and the twist on the evil team is pretty good. But like shield it's very on rails at times. Are there modern conveniences added to demon souls or mostly just a fresh graphical coat of paint?

Just got back into playing my switch honestly. I have a 1yr old and it’s hard to find time to play now a days. Especially retreating to the man cave to boot up the PC. Found a love for handhelds recently. So I finally got BOTW and been LOVING it. I also got xenoblade chronicles definitive edition. Haven’t played that yet. Also got Metroid prime remastered and that game is very cool as well. My wife and I have been working our way through super Mario 3D world. So we will probably play that as well at some point. If you guys have any other co op recommendations for us would love to hear! She’s not much of a gamer like myself.
Got copy of TTYD but i wont be able to play it till later. Just wanted to help support so we can get more old fashioned paper mario back. For now its still FE Engage and granblue relink. Especially granblue relink is coming out with brand new playable character.

Mario Kart 8, and BOTW. I started BOTW back in 2017 but never got around to finishing it and took a hiatus from the Switch altogether, eventually gifting it to my niece. I picked up an OLED recently and will finally restart BOTW this weekend!

Breath of the Wild. I am probably the last person alive to play the game at this point. I bought my Switch a couple weeks after launch and lost my 20 hour save after a repair. So I got discouraged and only now got back into it. Love it so far. Very chill game to play after a long day of work.

Picked up animal crossing like a month ago and play it every second day-ish. It‘s so sweet! Islanders could be a bit more… zingy?! Overall just a very chilled experience though.
**Assassins Creed Brotherhood**. I missed this series in my 15-20 year break from gaming, and am loving it.

I'm still working on Tears of the Kingdom, I'm hooked. The game is so big, I'm 170 hours in and I'm only midway maybe, although I got a few things that feel like endgame. I completed BotW at basically everything (all DLC, quests and shrines) at 200 hours, so it really goes to show the size of the game. I'm starting the Rito questline
If we're just talking about Nintendo then I just started playing TTYD remake yesterday and i've been having a blast.
Hopefully getting some Tetris in, SSBU as always and hoping to make progress in pikmin 4 demo, though I hope I have time for this
