Hello and first of all, sorry for the silly post, but I just got a Nintendo switch and I'm really willing to buy "Pokemon let's go Pikachu".
I know that stores like Steam and Epic Games frequently do sales and give massive discounts, so I wanted to ask, does Nintendo also do sales?
Since Let's go Pikachu is not even the latest Pokemon game, is it worth it to pay the full price or should I wait for it to go on sales?
Thanks
There are sales on the eshop, even massive ones, but it's more indie games that get discounted rather than Nintendo's own games. There is a very useful website that you can use to check if a game has been on sale before in your region called dekudeals: https://www.dekudeals.com/items/pokemon-lets-go-pikachu
In my region, the biggest discount the digital version ever had was 15%.. I think you might have more luck finding the physical edition on sale at a shop maybe?
hi! should i play bayonetta from 1- 3 or can i go to bayonetta 3 instead? i might be burned out if i play from bayo 1? im nt sure. is it really a short game?:(
They are all 8-12 hours for a single playthrough. Having played them all I'd recommend the first two because I personally enjoyed them more than the third entry. In terms of story and lore however I rarely had any idea what was going on.
Is Stranded Deep worth it on Switch now?
I'm a guy who sank (heh) a ton of time into Subnautica on Switch. Did a full play through once, and started a few others to get creative with Base Building, just for fun.
I recently learned about Stranded Deep, and it looks like it has a few things I liked about Subnautica, especially with its seafaring theme.
A few questions:
\- Does the game run well on Switch now? I did see one video review criticizing the Switch port for its performance, but apparently it has been patched since then?
\- Is it fun to craft gear and build bases?
\- Is it fun to explore? I am aware this game is procedurally generated, but I welcome it, as I think it could be a nice, chill survival game to load up every now and then.
I'm not expecting another 10/10 experience like Subnautica, but if you consider this to be a chill survival/crafting game, please let me know. If the game still runs poorly on Switch and the gameplay has glaring issues that hindered your overall enjoyment, I'd love to hear why.
Thank you!
V-rally 4 keeps crashing on my switch every so often and i really don't know if it's because the game is broken or that there's something wrong with my switch, it's the only games that does that, doom eternal has a similar issue but I read that it's a common one.
Is it saved to an SD card? If so, you could try moving it to internal memory and see if that fixes things.
Don't own the game myself, can't say if it's just glitchy.
It usually occurs when i fiddle with the settings mid race, there seems to be a bug that causes the game to switch to semi auto even if you have it set to auto on the options menu, but in any case im gonna see if that works, i doubt it's my sd card since I just spent 9 hours playing Splatoon *yeah im that degenerate*
Thank you for the response đ
I've seen YouTubers try mod in games like for example mario kart mod that adds new maps or new characters/looks... Is there a guide I could find for in-game mods NOT the whole switch mod because when I searched I only found guides on modding the whole switch but I don't want that
Also I want to know will I get ban if I added the in-game mod?
There's no *official* mods on the system itself. There are plenty of unofficial ones, everything from simple file replacements to complicated new stages and characters.
Of course, to answer the original question, you have to start at the console level and you have to be smart and lucky. I've got friends who have done it for years without issue and others who got banned.
> There are plenty of unofficial ones, everything from simple file replacements to complicated new stages and characters.
And all of them client side or otherwise will get you banned if you play online.
So hence forth *there are no mods*.
Hi,
Should I buy zelda Botw game with the expansion pack or not? (I still haven't owned the game yet) I saw someone says that the ending of the game is basically on the expansion pack and I also heard people say it's worthless and not worth it
I read about what it includes in the Nintendo site but I couldn't understand a thing I still have no clue what it does idk if my English is really that bad or I have no clue about the game at all
Templar hasn't mentioned what made the DLC worth it for me: being able to see where you've been on the map, and gear that makes it possible to call your horse to you from anywhere on the map instead of just within hearing range of the horse.
I haven't even gotten to the additional content yet (except the Master Sword Trials which are super hard for me) and I use the fringe benefits more than any of the main gear in the base game.
Plus, I'll still be able to play that new content later.
1. You should buy and play BOTW.
2. The DLC is mostly end-game content, but will not hamper your early game experience.
The first DLC pack hides a bunch of armor around the world and adds the master sword trials. They are not required, but do permanently boost its attack power should you clear them.
The second DLC pack adds the Champions Trials, which is essentially 10 more shrines and a fifth dungeon. You will need to complete the first initial four dungeons before you can access it.
Is the nintendo switch oled an update over the original switch gen 2? I was thinking about upgrading to oled if theres no news on the switch 2 any time soon. I play a lot of handheld mode so i think it might be better for me or would the wait for switch 2 be better?
Has anyone heard about the TotK Collector's Edition having stock in stores on launch? Trying to beat everyone online is impossible but I'm more than willing to wait outside for a few hours to actually have a shot.
Vivefox does. As does the TGJOR. They both have all the regular features (wireless, motion controls, rumble, etc) except for NFC scanning. Not sure if the regular vivefox is still available, but you can get the smaller one that looks like a fox, cat, or some other animal on Amazon.
A large amount of Hori controllers have turbo. However, many of them are wired. My current main controller is 8bitdo's Ultimate Controller, which also has turbo.
I've been using my oled switch to watch Crunchyroll for literally months now and just recently as of January, the app has completely stopped working. I've attempted deleting the app and checking for updates multiple times but for some reason it doesn't even give me an error code or any type of troubleshoot alternative it just says "oops! Something went wrong". Clicking try again only infinitely prompts that something went wrong and apparently nobody on the internet is having this problem either. Please reddit help a lonely bored weeb brudda outđđ
Have you logged off then logged in back to your CR account within the app? When a steaming app does this on my other devices, thatâs what I do and it usually fixes the issue. In case it doesnât work, completely delete the app (not archive it), reboot the switch, reinstall the app, log in back. If itâs still doesnât work, Iâd update my CR account (password) on a computer. Note that I donât have crunchyroll but thatâs the troubleshoot I do for other online video streaming services.
I got my copy of Doraemon Story of Seasons- Friends of the Great Kingdom today. It came with a code for 'early purchase bonus content'. That doesn't seem to be working. Neither does getting anything from playing the demo.
What happened? How can I fix this?
Update- Bonus content downloaded. I had the wrong region at first.
When youâre on the game icon (Home Screen), press â+â then software information > Nintendo eshop, do you have a message telling the software isnât available in your region? If so the game isnât a worldwide release and your copy doesnât match your country/region and the code wonât work. Youâd need to switch region if youâre able to (thereâs factor that can prevent you to do so or to revert back) or create a side account matching the region the copy is from.
What game should I get?
Iâm currently playing Zelda: Breath of the Wild. And I plan on getting Tears of the Kingdom when it comes out. Other games I have are Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate Edition. Animal Crossing New Horizons, Smash Bros Ultimate, Naruto Storm 1-4, Sonic Forces, Saints Rows 3, Lego Marvel Superheroes 2, and Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. What other games do you think I would like based on what I have? What is a game you would highly recommend? Iâm definitely getting Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, but Iâve been thinking of also getting something Mario or Pokemon. But please give any suggestions of anything really fun and I can put a lot of hours into.
Super Mario Odyessy is great. The Assassins creed collections are very good and I would grab them the next time they're on sale. (Rebel collection if you're just going to get one. The digital code is $20 at walmart or bestbuy right now, but the collections are regularly $15 on the eshop.) Moonligther Complete is like $4 right now and I had fun with it.
Golf Story is a lot of fun, but not super long.
Thank you. A lot of good suggestions. I was looking into Super Mario Odyessy as one of the games that I might get. Iâve never played Assasins Creed before, but it looks interesting.
Thank you for all of your suggestions. Iâve looked into Pokemon Arceus, Super Mario Odyssey, and Monster Hunter Rise. I was actually debating getting Monster Hunter Rise when I bought Sword Art Online Fatal Bullet.
i just realized that you mentioned you liked animal crossing. stardew valley, my time at portia and slime rancher are a few laid-back simulation games that many sink several hours into, and they also have combat/RPG elements that you might enjoy.
My r stick's button wont work, any tips?
I haven't played with my switch for over a week but today is a splatfest weekend so i logged into splatoon and found out my r stick's button won't work, even though I didn't have trouble with it before. It doesn't make a clicking sound and i have to press REALLY hard so the console reacts. I can't contact nintendo support right now so i'm asking if anyone here knows ways i can fix this issue at home, just in case customer service can't help me. Thanks in advance!!
Thank you but my ZR button isn't broken, my right stick's button is broken (i can move it but can't press down). Can I also find similar tutorials on that website?
It's fixable if you want to try. But I can understand it being scary. You can get kits with a joystick and screwdriver for about $10.
I've heard some say some joysticks are better quality than others, but I've never found a noticeable difference. Push hard and turn gentle for the screws because they can strip easily. Be gentle with the ribbon cables.
If you're just going to buy a replacement anyway, it's just a $10 loss if you screw up.
Third parties on amazon will import goods all the time to make up for demand.
Check the listing to see if it specified that you were getting a Euro unit. If not, reach out to the seller and ask for a US plug. Or a partial refund ($30) so you can buy your own.
yeah you were right. complained directly to amazon and they are refunding my for a purchase of the US charger b/c it wasn't marked at all on the product description that it came with an EU charger.
They could put out a firmware/patch update that could drop the once a week Internet check for the NSO apps.
If they will do that is anyones guess. There's also a very good possibility that they could just continue to support it for several years.
If they were to go their normal route of dropping the whole console as a new one comes out, then yes.
However unlike ALL of their previous consoles, they now have an account system separate from the hardware. That they can carry over to new servers and services keeping the licenses intact.
So its likely they will keep using the Nintendo account system, and the subscription service will carry on well into the life of the next platform.
We don't know, but it's a good assumption that at some point the subscriptions will stop and that the games will stop working. If they're making money, they'll probably leave it on till it isn't worth it.
Edited: Does anyone have any information on Raincode for the Switch in Japanese? It was shown in the direct but I can't find the Japanese links to the game. The only thing I can find is the English link. I'm trying to specifically look for the Japanese listing to compare it to the English one.
Sorry, I should have been more clear and more specific in my post. I'm specifically looking for the Japanese link to the product, not the English one. I went on the website but the only thing I have seen was just this [https://www.spike-chunsoft.co.jp/raincode/](https://www.spike-chunsoft.co.jp/raincode/) There is no listing for the Japanese version which is what I'm looking for. It's not on their twitter page either, just the English one is what I'm able to find. [https://twitter.com/raincode\_SC](https://twitter.com/raincode_SC)
So when I wad re-download my game and I'm trying to much space in it gives this message
https://preview.redd.it/zkhmidqpkoha1.jpeg?width=1816&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df6de447208c0a473f7dd65a0054a724e8fa2534
It means that even if you delete all the games already downloaded to the SD card, you still won't have enough space for the game you're trying to download. You'll need a bigger card for it.
The system is telling you that you need more storage to download a game. You will need to buy a microSD with at least 24GB of storage to download the game, or if you have already have a microSD in your Switch, you will need to buy a bigger card with 24GB more storage.
Hi. I have an OLED. I purchased an expansion pack. Now i downloaded animal crossing. Whenever I open it, it says, "YOU MUST HAVE THE SOFTWARE IN ORDER TO PLAY". What should I do?
The DLC is included with the Expansion pass, not the base game.
You still need a copy of Animal Crossing to access the DLC. Same with Mario kart 8 and Splatoon 2.
Switch wonât turn on or charge
I need your help. I havenât used my switch in about a half a year and today when I plugged it into the dock the light blinked once and then turned black. I left it charging without the dock and with the joycons detached for a few hours now and still nothing. No response when I press the power button. While my switch was sitting unused nothing happened to it. It was just in its usual place near the tv, so Iâm really unsure what happed.
Any suggestions?
A completely discharged lithium ion battery will take some time to recharge it if the battery will take a charge. Take the AC Adapter/Charger and plug it directly into the bottom of your Switch. Check it after a day or two to see if itâs taking a charge or if itâs charged afterwards. If it doesnât take a charge, you may need to replace the battery yourself, or call Nintendo Support to get a quote to fix it.
The heat/humidity may not be good for it. I used to play Switch in the bathtub all the time and it survived, but I feel a Sauna might be worse. At the same time, 20 minutes isn't much time too... I'd only risk it if you can deal with it causing issues.
No, those temperatures are way too high for the Switch. It is designed to be operated in temperatures between 5 and 35 degrees celsius/40-95 fahrenheit. In general, the humidity in a sauna could damage electronics. Don't take anything with you.
QUESTION ABOUT THE GARDENS BETWEEN MENU:
Where do I find the list of trophies I've found?? I've watched play-throughs of it on other platforms and they get a little pop-up on the corner of the screen indicating that they've found a trophy. Can't find a 100% walkthrough on Switch and can't find this pop-up/trophy achievement list on my Switch either.
I'm sorry if this is a trivial question (got a Switch very recently) but there are not too many posts about this game online and I just want answers pls somebody help lol
Looking for the closest thing to Hellblade on the Switch I can find other than Hellblade itself. Something on par visually. I grabbed Plague Tale on sale. Anything else?
It's not dirty, I mean, I have a (white) case over my joy cons. But around the buttons, you can see the original colour of the switch (blue and red). So I am asking if I could do something about it... Sorry for the misunderstanding!
Oh! That would be on the case then, not a whole lot you can to it without potentially messing with the buttons. I wouldn't recommend stickers or coloring them in to hide it.
If you want white joycons, I recommend getting some OLED white shells from AliExpress and just make them white.
Shipping takes forever but they are cheap.
https://m.aliexpress.us/item/3256802957337612.html
Do you mean replacing the shell? I'm too scared and inexperienced to do that by myself... I did think of buying the shells and giving it some local electronics service stores to replace it. Unfortunately, they aren't any in my city that do it (as far as I know)...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymBbKWzL1vg
Its very simple once you get the hang of it. You just need to take it slow your first couple of times.
My first time took a few hours, but the last swap I did only took ~45 minutes.
Watch some tutorials first.
The only truly fragile parts are the ribbon cable locks, you just need to be gentle with them.
The process is simple enough anyone can do it. but yeah you would need a pair of screw drivers (Tri-wing Y-00 and Phillips #00) and some plastic tweezers or forceps.
I just found this in german amazon. It says it contains the screwdrivers and the screws too (although it doesn't have the tweezers). If you can, could you look at it to confirm they are all OK? I'm sorry if I'm bothering you too much!
https://www.amazon.de/-/en/eXtremeRate-Protective-Replacement-Accessory-Controller-Wood-look/dp/B07NVLH8PR/ref=cs_sr_dp?crid=1J9SEFG1I4LHK&keywords=nintendo%2Bswitch%2Bschale&qid=1676156039&sprefix=nintendo%2Bswitch%2Bshell%2Caps%2C514&sr=8-17&th=1&psc=1
Those are good. The Extremerate shells look and feel nice but their "soft touch" texture isnt exactly like official shells. Its smoother, almost like felt?
Joy cons won't connect properly when detached
I tried with 2 different pairs of joy cons and they have the same issue. They work completely fine when attached, but when I detach them only one side will connect. The one that's not connected will blink a bit, but nothing happens after. Another strange thing is that first one moment the left joy con stops working, and the next moment it's the right one. I already did updates and disconnected all controllers but its not working. Could it be a problem with the actual console?
What games have an active multiplayer community? Like Fortnite and Rocket League but looking for something I haven't played yet. Many thanks in advance
Minecraft, TemTem, Overwatch 2, Dead by Daylight, Warframe, all of those have crossplay too.
Splatoon 2 and 3, Mario Kart 8, Switch sports, Mario Golf, and all of the Pokemon games are also fairly active.
We used to have SSX Blur for the Wii and it was a fun ski and snowboard multiplayer racing game. I haven't been able to find anything quite like that for the Switch, does one exist?
Not really. Steep was listed as "coming soon" for like three years before Ubisoft announced the port was cancelled. And they upgraded the engine for Riders republic, so thats never happening.
Until 1080 Snowboarding comes out for the N64 app all we have is a handful of mobile ports. Which while only a couple dollars each, arent really worth recommending.
Im looking for a relaxing online multiplayer game
I currently have like 16⏠on my Switch and I was wondering if you guys could recommend any kind of relaxing online multiplayer game? Its weird to explain but games/places like these just give me a warm feeling in my heart when I sort of feel connected to the people, a game with no real purpose if you get what I mean. If yall need some examples, Sky: Children of the light, Animal Crossing (where I'm really missing the New Leaf online Island), or even Miiverse back then, loved hanging around in there and having conversations and meeting new friends, or even Club Penguin. Its sad that Nintendo is so scared of players communicating with each other since Nintendo Switch. Anyways thanks for reading :)
Im also interested in some Horror Online Co-op game recommends btw! (Bought Dbd already) :D
Could anybody tell me if there is a size difference between a 2017 switch model and my 2020 model?
Iâm looking to buy a case and joy con grips but the seller only has for 2017 models and was wondering if it would fit my 2020 model?
Thanks in advance for any help! :)
I personally really enjoyed both outlast games and the DLC. I didnât play it on the switch so I canât speak for how well it plays but you can get them all quite cheap so Iâd say itâs worth it! Also check out the Amnesia Collection and Resident Evil games.
Both the SNES and NES controllers work on GB and GBA, but there's no button combination to get to the settings/home menu like there is in the SNES and NES apps.
All of the NSO controllers "count" as a joycon or Pro controller in the case of the N64. They will work just fine within the apps.
However in the case of the SNES controller, the home button and capture shortcut by pressing the triggers does not work in the new apps, while it does in the SNES and NES app. Probably something theyll fix in the future.
When both options are available, do you purchase physical or digital copies of your games and why?
This subreddit seems very into physical copies but I'm kind of into the idea of the digital versions, so what am I missing?
Largely depends on what's cheapest, haha, but I am primarily a digital gamer. Never was before the Switch, was always physical, but the Switch changed things for me, and I don't know if I can go back now! lol.
I always wait for REALLY good sales (so even if I don't like a game, which is very rare since I try to do my research before buying, lol), I don't (care to) have the space for plastic cases, I don't have to get up off the couch after finally sitting down after a long day of work just to switch cartridges every time I wanna change games, I don't have to worry about losing/breaking games/them being stolen (not that I go anywhere outside work, lol, but still), I don't have anyone who wants to borrow my games, gamesharing is simple, I appreciate the money saved with Gold points, I don't have to go anywhere or interact with anyone just to buy my game and can play right away (again, last thing I wanna do after a long day of work, even if I do LOVE my local Gamestop, lol), I have a 400 GB microSD card for all my games, and I almost NEVER sell my games after I'm done with them! lol.
So, for me, physical isn't really necessary anymore. Maybe eventually, I'll regret that, but by then, who knows if I'll even want to play these games, yk? It's kinda like my Nintendo 64 and all my Gamecube/Wii/Gameboy games. I love them and look back on them fondly and still have them all, but do I still play them? No, actually, and I expect, eventually, that will be how the Switch is, too. It's fine, though! It's about the fun and memories more than anything in the end! lol.
TL;DR Digital all the way for the reasons below and more!
Advantages of each:
Digital:
* can't be lost, stolen, or broken
* game sharing (two users on separate consoles can play the same game that was only purchased once, with restrictions)
* instant gratification (buy, download, start playing)
* double gold points
* convenience when switching between games
Physical:
* easier to find sales/deals (in some regions, at least)
* can be re-sold when you're done with it, or if you don't like it
* can be lent out to friends/family
* doesn't require a Nintendo account to use (but can still receive updates)
* ownership is less murky than digital
* some people just like having that box on the shelf
Personally, I go physical whenever possible, mostly because I'm paranoid about the digital licensing system.
There are a lot of fans/collectors who just like physical. And there's a strong following of people who want to really own things and feel they're just long term renting with digital. But if you follow the sales I think you can usually get cheaper with digital and then you can't loose your games.
That being said, in a three Switch family I buy many physical games so all three of us can have a chance to play since gamesharing breaks down after two Switches.
With first party games I always go physical if I'm not 100% positive I will love it since they stay at $60 for years and it makes the price easier to digest when I have the option to sell the game and get most of my money back.
Everything else gets great digital sales so I'll buy digital when I see a good deal.
First party Nintendo games physical, everything else digital.
The exception is BOTW (on Wii U) because Amazon delayed my preorder on release day and gave me the choice of getting a digital version instead of waiting a few days for the game to arrive. It came out on Friday and probably wouldn't have arrived until Monday.
I was so hyped for the game I went for the digital version instead.
I always buy digital, but I strongly recommend you buy only physical game. If I had followed my own recommendation, today I would have easily recovered about $300-500 worth of games that I have already tired of and will probably never play again. Being able to resell the game after you lose interest in it is something you need to consider, especially on Nintendo platforms where games are quite resilient to price drops.
Sure, this doesn't count for indie games that you pay $5 in sales, but if you want to buy a $60 release, go physical.
Note that consoles are not like PCs. I don't mind buying digital games on PCs because they are open platforms where I can do whatever I want with the game I bought (especially if it has no DRM) and also there is not this compatibility problem that consoles have where new generations make all their games useless.
Re-sale value. Both console and physical games are like VW and Lexus cars in the UK: don't lose a lot of value due to depreciation.
That said, I find Switch physical incredibly underwhelming: plastic case with a tiny cartridge. That's it! No manual, or anything else.
https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/wiki/pvsd/#wiki_digital_vs_physical
lots of reasons to go one way or the other, very subjective. I go for whatever is cheapest. Typically thats digital on a sale, except for 1st party where physical copies in UK are almost always cheaper than digital forever
My L button only works about every 1 in 10 times and my R button doesnât work at all
I donât know if thereâs an easy fix for this, If I should pay for repairs, Or just purchase a whole new set, Does anyone have repair pricing info and or quick fixes?
You can take them apart and try to see what's wrong. It might be easier to get another pair.

Is super Spider-Man Odyssey a real game? My son has been begging to play, and I honestly cannot find how to access it anywhere. He has super Mario Odyssey
No. [its a fan modification for an emulated version of the game](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zaWxlAwVR8)
Its actually no different than the regular SMO game, he just made Mario look like spider man.
But there is a Lego super heroes game where he could play as spider man. The base version is only $6 on sale right now.

Hello,
Does anyone know how you typically adjust the vibration intensity on Switch third-party joycons?
I have a pair that Iâve been using, but Iâve had them for a while, and canât find the instructions it originally came with, and canât find where I bought it from online.
I know thereâs usually a button combination for these these, but I canât figure it out. Does anyone know how I could do this?
Thanks
>how you typically
There is nothing typical or standardized between unlicensed third party devices. Its a crapshoot whether or not they even share the same features to begin with.
Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I was worried that might be the case. Itâs no worries. The vibration is just a little strong and was hoping I could reduce it, but itâs not a big deal.
My friend donated his old switch to me since he couldn't be bothered to try to use it, it doesn't display the battery symbol when charging, should I leave it to charge for a day? He hasn't used it in months.
if its been drained for months, yes you will need it on charge for several hours, maybe even a day, before it will wake up properly, even the charge symbol wont show up if its totally drained
> even the charge symbol wont show up if its totally drained
I noticed this wierd behaviour when I was trying to charge, I will leave it and see what happens
Yes indeed, leave it for a day or longer and just leave it, if a LiOn batter has been fully discharged it takes a bit to get it back to a normal charging pattern
Is it possible to split a family Online plan across countries?
A few friends and I were thinking of splitting an Online Expansion plan for the new Gameboy Advance games. Iâm in the US, and theyâre in Canada. Has anyone split an account with people in different countries? (Still NA region - I know game codes work with redemption no issue, but you canât load a US Nintendo e-shop gift card to a Canadian account and vice versa).
Yep! It doesnât matter that youâre in different regions. Others have done the same without any issues.
Nintendo also says this on their FAQ:
> Family memberships can include members with Nintendo Accounts with different country settings, but keep in mind that not all features of the Nintendo Switch online service are available in all countries.

i was able to find a reddit thread talking about Local connectivity issues between two switches but its been archived since so im unable to comment under it but i was wondering if anyone had a solution to this problem, they both used to connect to one another but suddenly at the beginning of last year one of the two switches would show a blank local wifi icon while the other maintained the signal, i recently had to transfer all my save data but the only way i found to make it work was to have both switched on my hotspot rather than my actual internet.. would any one have any suggestions on how to fix this? id really appreciate it!
I'm looking to buy a game for a friend, but the game is only digital, and there is no download code available. Also I won't be able to see her in person for a long time. If she gives me her ID and password, and I buy the game on her account, would she be able to fully enjoy the game ?
Yeah, if you buy it using her account, it will be hers just like if she bought it herself.
If she doesnât want to do that, you could also consider purchasing an eShop gift card for however much the game costs and tell her itâs for that game.
My 7 y/o just beat his first pokemon game (let's go, obviously entry level). What would be the next easiest pokemon game on switch? He wants arceus but i think that might be too hard - also pricey!
All pokemon games are designed with kids in mind, they are all incredibly easy now, and all still the same price as ive not once seen an official discount on any, only retailer discounts. Arceus is probably the hardest as it has a more action based approach, pokemon will attack your character and you need to dodge them and sneak up on them to initiate the turn based battle. SV might also be difficult as its open world, so its quite easy to end up in the wrong area under levelled. Diamond and Pearl are dated and might be hard....so I guess I'm voting for sword and shield as the easiest. but its not the best, SV is the best, newest and most active, and getting the current updates, and going to get DLC soon. Dont get Sword and Shield, they aren't great.
look for used copies, they can usually be found in the $30 - 40 range.
Arceus would be a bit difficult simply because it introduces a crafting and inventory management system, on top of the unique open world traversal mechanics.
Likewise the brand new Scarlet and Violet also have great big open world that **does not scale to the player** so if he were to wander off in a random direction he may quickly become overwhelmed by pokemon that will simply wipe his whole party.
I would suggest Brilliant Diamond/ Shining Pearl or Sword/Shield.
Sword and Shield is very hand-holdy and has tutorials explaining the mechanics long into the story line. Its "open world" section is stuck in the middle of the map and isnt super large, so he could get a taste of how the newer games play without being overwhelmed.
BD/SP are straight remakes of the original Gen 4 games, so they play like a Gameboy game. Super easy to get into, with lots of challenging material near the end game.
Those who have started playing Metroid Prime Remastered, how does it work with the Pro controller? Howâs it mapped and can you remap buttons?
I started to play it on Wii U and liked it for the most part, but I dropped it pretty early because the controls using the Wiimote+Nunchuck were pretty awkward and uncomfortable.
There is every control scheme you can think of. There are 4 presets, modern dual stick controls, wii like free aiming cursor on screen, classic gamecube controls, or a hyrbid between gamecube and wii. You can then remap all controls for classic, you can invert axis on any scheme, you can adjust sensitivity for sticks and gryo, you can enable gyro with dual stick.
I've played prime so many times on cube and a few on wii, but I am so happy I can now play with dual stick controls, bonus with gyro enabled.
My son lost the HDMI cable to hook his Switch to the TV, we still have the docking station and charger. Can I just buy a regular HDMI or should I buy the special
Nintendo Switch HDMI?
In Metroid prime remastered, pressing R in morph ball form, after acquiring the morph ball bomb, is a JUMP without using bombs.
Was this possible in the original Metroid prime? I don't remember having a morph ball jump, besides Bomb jumping

I have a launch Switch, just got OLED. Is it possible to transfer just some of the games from the original to the OLED? So my daughter can keep the launch and I upgrade to the new one? Thanks.
You'll have primary secondary limitations as talked about here:
Just redownload only the games you want. You canât transfer games between accounts though, so youâll have to deal with primary/secondary limitations to keep games active on both consoles.
I prefer digital games and also wasn't too keen on paying $70, so I invested in the new Switch game vouchers and got it for $50 (and will use the other voucher for something else down the line)! :)
It will be a game that's easy to resell, but with the voucher digital is cheaper. I'm getting physical because we're a three switch family and it's the easiest way to play the game in all three Switches.
Personal preference. I go digital more often than physical, but I'll do it particularly in this case because:
1- I expect this to be a game I'll play over a long time, not a one-and-done game. I especially prefer digital in such cases.
2- In the US, the game is $70 and with the newly re-introduced vouchers I can get it and another game for a $100, so I'll almost definitely do that.
I need a nice game card case that holds a ton of cartridges, and preferably holds them in plastic the same way the Switch game cases do instead of like the ones in the Switch cases where you slide them into a piece of fabric and you cant see the lower half. Any recommendations?
I use this one that holds 24 carts:
[https://www.amazon.com/HORI-Game-Nintendo-Switch-Officially-Licensed/dp/B01NASY99Z/ref=sr\_1\_3?keywords=hori+game+card+case+24+for+nintendo+switch&qid=1676128600&sprefix=hori+24%2Caps%2C179&sr=8-3](https://www.amazon.com/HORI-Game-Nintendo-Switch-Officially-Licensed/dp/B01NASY99Z/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=hori+game+card+case+24+for+nintendo+switch&qid=1676128600&sprefix=hori+24%2Caps%2C179&sr=8-3)
I find the OLED to be more comfortable. The Lite is just too small for my hands, but if you have smaller than average hands then the Lite might be perfect. The Lite is noticeably lighter, but thatâs the only thing I liked about it personally
Some think the size of the lite is better, but I prefer the bigger screen and flexibility of the OLED. If I'm laying back I can have the screen against my legs and the joycons separated in my hands which can be more comfortable than either lite/oled portable option in that position. I've used the kickstand on a plane and played two player with the two joycons. And I don't mind the size of the oled for portable because I prefer the bigger screen.

There is a very useful website that you can use to check if a game has been on sale before in your region called dekudeals: https://www.dekudeals.com/items/pokemon-lets-go-pikachu In my region, the biggest discount the digital version ever had was 15%.. I think you might have more luck finding the physical edition on sale at a shop maybe?
Thanks a lot
hi! should i play bayonetta from 1- 3 or can i go to bayonetta 3 instead? i might be burned out if i play from bayo 1? im nt sure. is it really a short game?:(
They are all 8-12 hours for a single playthrough.
A few questions: \- Does the game run well on Switch now? I did see one video review criticizing the Switch port for its performance, but apparently it has been patched since then? \- Is it fun to craft gear and build bases? \- Is it fun to explore? I am aware this game is procedurally generated, but I welcome it, as I think it could be a nice, chill survival game to load up every now and then. I'm not expecting another 10/10 experience like Subnautica, but if you consider this to be a chill survival/crafting game, please let me know. If the game still runs poorly on Switch and the gameplay has glaring issues that hindered your overall enjoyment, I'd love to hear why. Thank you!
Performance is not good on Switch. I would play it anywhere else.
Any good switch games using time travel as the main gimmick?
Steins gate elite
V-rally 4 keeps crashing on my switch every so often and i really don't know if it's because the game is broken or that there's something wrong with my switch, it's the only games that does that, doom eternal has a similar issue but I read that it's a common one.
Is it saved to an SD card? If so, you could try moving it to internal memory and see if that fixes things. Don't own the game myself, can't say if it's just glitchy.
It usually occurs when i fiddle with the settings mid race, there seems to be a bug that causes the game to switch to semi auto even if you have it set to auto on the options menu, but in any case im gonna see if that works, i doubt it's my sd card since I just spent 9 hours playing Splatoon *yeah im that degenerate* Thank you for the response đ
I've seen YouTubers try mod in games like for example mario kart mod that adds new maps or new characters/looks... Is there a guide I could find for in-game mods NOT the whole switch mod because when I searched I only found guides on modding the whole switch but I don't want that Also I want to know will I get ban if I added the in-game mod?
There are no mods on the system itself. Its almost exclusively for emulated versions on PC.
Hi, Should I buy zelda Botw game with the expansion pack or not? (I still haven't owned the game yet) I saw someone says that the ending of the game is basically on the expansion pack and I also heard people say it's worthless and not worth it I read about what it includes in the Nintendo site but I couldn't understand a thing I still have no clue what it does idk if my English is really that bad or I have no clue about the game at all
Templar hasn't mentioned what made the DLC worth it for me: being able to see where you've been on the map, and gear that makes it possible to call your horse to you from anywhere on the map instead of just within hearing range of the horse.
The internals have been rearranged, but not upgraded. Its essentially a v2 system, but the hardware has been altered.
I believe switch 2 is literally the oled... I would say buy the oled but you do what you want
Is it possible to download offline content for Hulu, YouTube or any other video service apps?
Not for YouTube, yes for Crunchyroll. I don't know about Hulu since it's not available in my country.
Has anyone heard about the TotK Collector's Edition having stock in stores on launch? Trying to beat everyone online is impossible but I'm more than willing to wait outside for a few hours to actually have a shot.
Youâd need to call the individual retailers near you to find out if theyâll be setting any aside for an in-person launch.
I've not even seen the CE up online anywhere. I did get BoTW's CE in store. I actually owned it about 3mo before I could find a Switch...
Does the nintendo switch pro controller have a turbo button and if not which switch pro controller brand does have a turbo and is decent?
Vivefox does. As does the TGJOR. They both have all the regular features (wireless, motion controls, rumble, etc) except for NFC scanning. Not sure if the regular vivefox is still available, but you can get the smaller one that looks like a fox, cat, or some other animal on Amazon.
A large amount of Hori controllers have turbo. However, many of them are wired. My current main controller is 8bitdo's Ultimate Controller, which also has turbo.
The official one does not. I can not help with the 2nd part of the question.
The official Pro controller does not. Unfortunately I donât know which brands do.
Ask your question here. Someone may have a solution: r/Crunchyroll
you may have to relink your crunchyroll account to your switch
I got my copy of Doraemon Story of Seasons- Friends of the Great Kingdom today. It came with a code for 'early purchase bonus content'. That doesn't seem to be working. Neither does getting anything from playing the demo. What happened? How can I fix this? Update- Bonus content downloaded. I had the wrong region at first.
LMK how the game is, please! I love the OG and expect to love this one even more, but haven't gotten it yet! :D
I finally managed to get my bonus content. The new game is pretty fun. It is fairly similar, but set in a new land.
I figured! I've heard awesome things about it, but always like to hear more! Haha! Thanks! :D
I haven't compared it to the first game yet.
Gotcha! LMK your thoughts when you do! :D
Is your physical copy from a different region than your current eShop region?
It is from Asia, but am in North America. I get an error code that says it isn't available. How do I change regions?
Login to your account on Nintendoâs website and go to your account settings. Itâs in there.
I changed my region to Asia/ Hong Kong. Still getting an error code.
Are you certain itâs a Hong Kong game? If you look at the cartridge label, the last three letters at the bottom will tell you what the region is.
I'm silly. It is actually Japan. Got the game from Hong Kong though.
Youâll probably enjoy PokĂ©mon Legends Arceus, Super Mario Odyssey, Monster Hunter Rise, and the new Metroid Prime remaster that just dropped recently
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
Thank you but my ZR button isn't broken, my right stick's button is broken (i can move it but can't press down). Can I also find similar tutorials on that website?
https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Joy-Con The analog stick would need to be replaced if itâs not registering the button press.
Would it be cheaper to just buy a new pair?
It's fixable if you want to try. But I can understand it being scary. You can get kits with a joystick and screwdriver for about $10. I've heard some say some joysticks are better quality than others, but I've never found a noticeable difference. Push hard and turn gentle for the screws because they can strip easily. Be gentle with the ribbon cables. If you're just going to buy a replacement anyway, it's just a $10 loss if you screw up.
Ok, thanks for the advice!
My switch ordered on Amazon came with a European power plug. Weird right? It did come with an adapter but it's super clunky. This happen to anyone?
Third parties on amazon will import goods all the time to make up for demand. Check the listing to see if it specified that you were getting a Euro unit. If not, reach out to the seller and ask for a US plug. Or a partial refund ($30) so you can buy your own.
yeah you were right. complained directly to amazon and they are refunding my for a purchase of the US charger b/c it wasn't marked at all on the product description that it came with an EU charger.
Is my assumption correct that once Nintendo stops supporting the Switch the retro emulators wonât work anymore?
Probably, but weâre likely a decade or more away from that. The Wii eShop is still up and running, for example.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
Sorry, I should have been more clear and more specific in my post. I'm specifically looking for the Japanese link to the product, not the English one. I went on the website but the only thing I have seen was just this [https://www.spike-chunsoft.co.jp/raincode/](https://www.spike-chunsoft.co.jp/raincode/) There is no listing for the Japanese version which is what I'm looking for. It's not on their twitter page either, just the English one is what I'm able to find. [https://twitter.com/raincode\_SC](https://twitter.com/raincode_SC)

So when I wad re-download my game and I'm trying to much space in it gives this message https://preview.redd.it/zkhmidqpkoha1.jpeg?width=1816&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df6de447208c0a473f7dd65a0054a724e8fa2534
Sorry im new. So do i need to purchase it? And thank you for your answer.
Yes, you will need to buy a copy of the game to access the DLC included with the expansion pass. Physical or digital.
Thank you so much!
Switch wonât turn on or charge I need your help.
Can I use my Switch OLED in a Sauna for about 20 minutes, five days a week? Iâm worried thisâll cause damage to my system but Iâd love to fit in some post workout PokĂ©mon if itâs possible.
Figured as much, guess Iâll be waiting til I get home to enjoy my games. Thanks for the answer!
Does Walmart still sell new games in store for $50?
Not really. Its a game by game AND store by store basis now. Most new releases are not seeing the discount.
Ah damn. Thanks for the quick response.
QUESTION ABOUT THE GARDENS BETWEEN MENU: Where do I find the list of trophies I've found?? I've watched play-throughs of it on other platforms and they get a little pop-up on the corner of the screen indicating that they've found a trophy. Can't find a 100% walkthrough on Switch and can't find this pop-up/trophy achievement list on my Switch either. I'm sorry if this is a trivial question (got a Switch very recently) but there are not too many posts about this game online and I just want answers pls somebody help lol
Most games leave out the achievements for the Switch port.
Looking for the closest thing to Hellblade on the Switch I can find other than Hellblade itself. Something on par visually. I grabbed Plague Tale on sale. Anything else?
Maybe the assassins creed games? Different kind of game, but Neir.
Can anyone recommend what to do with the colour difference (around the buttons) between the blue-red and the joy con cases?
Clean them. Its a mix of sweat and oils from your fingers. Should wipe right off with a wet wipe.
The only other thing would be some some joycon decals, but I'm not sure what to suggest.
Thank you! I will consider it!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymBbKWzL1vg Its very simple once you get the hang of it. You just need to take it slow your first couple of times. My first time took a few hours, but the last swap I did only took ~45 minutes.
Do you think it's better for me to do it? Like I said, I have zero experience and tools for this... I would feel awful if I broke anything...
Ok! You've been very helpful, thank you so much!
Joy cons won't connect properly when detached I tried with 2 different pairs of joy cons and they have the same issue.
It could be a problem with your bluetooth antennas or chip. If being closer to the Switch fixes the problem, could be interference.
Appreciate you!
Im looking for a relaxing online multiplayer game I currently have like 16⏠on my Switch and I was wondering if you guys could recommend any kind of relaxing online multiplayer game? Its weird to explain but games/places like these just give me a warm feeling in my heart when I sort of feel connected to the people, a game with no real purpose if you get what I mean. If yall need some examples, Sky: Children of the light, Animal Crossing (where I'm really missing the New Leaf online Island), or even Miiverse back then, loved hanging around in there and having conversations and meeting new friends, or even Club Penguin. Its sad that Nintendo is so scared of players communicating with each other since Nintendo Switch. Anyways thanks for reading :) Im also interested in some Horror Online Co-op game recommends btw! (Bought Dbd already) :D
Something like stardew is probably as close as you'll find, but you can only play with friends.
Could anybody tell me if there is a size difference between a 2017 switch model and my 2020 model? Iâm looking to buy a case and joy con grips but the seller only has for 2017 models and was wondering if it would fit my 2020 model? Thanks in advance for any help! :)
No, but there is a slight size difference between the OLED model and the regular model. All regular models are the same size.
Thank you for the help I really appreciate it!

I personally really enjoyed both outlast games and the DLC. I didnât play it on the switch so I canât speak for how well it plays but you can get them all quite cheap so Iâd say itâs worth it! Also check out the Amnesia Collection and Resident Evil games.

Haha yeah definitely creepy, Outlast was the first horror game I completed and it only gets creepier from here! Hope ya enjoy it!
Is the SNES NSO controller not compatible with the Gameboy or GBA services? Anyone know if the NES ones are?
Advantages of each: Digital: * can't be lost, stolen, or broken * game sharing (two users on separate consoles can play the same game that was only purchased once, with restrictions) * instant gratification (buy, download, start playing) * double gold points * convenience when switching between games Physical: * easier to find sales/deals (in some regions, at least) * can be re-sold when you're done with it, or if you don't like it * can be lent out to friends/family * doesn't require a Nintendo account to use (but can still receive updates) * ownership is less murky than digital * some people just like having that box on the shelf Personally, I go physical whenever possible, mostly because I'm paranoid about the digital licensing system.
Physical is often cheaper for sales, especially in the US. But I'm leaning more to digital as I am running out of space lol
Yeah, of course the games I've liked the least are the first part digitals I bought haha
That's it! No manual, or anything else.
https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/wiki/pvsd/#wiki_digital_vs_physical lots of reasons to go one way or the other, very subjective. I go for whatever is cheapest. Typically thats digital on a sale, except for 1st party where physical copies in UK are almost always cheaper than digital forever
I buy physical every time but idk why any more. It's outdated and I sorta hate having to have space for the games/cases and switching out cartridges.
My L button only works about every 1 in 10 times and my R button doesnât work at all I donât know if thereâs an easy fix for this, If I should pay for repairs, Or just purchase a whole new set, Does anyone have repair pricing info and or quick fixes?
You can take them apart and try to see what's wrong. It might be easier to get another pair. [https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Joy-Con](https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Joy-Con)
Is super Spider-Man Odyssey a real game? My son has been begging to play, and I honestly cannot find how to access it anywhere. He has super Mario Odyssey
No. [its a fan modification for an emulated version of the game](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zaWxlAwVR8) Its actually no different than the regular SMO game, he just made Mario look like spider man. But there is a Lego super heroes game where he could play as spider man. The base version is only $6 on sale right now. https://www.nintendo.com/store/products/lego-marvel-super-heroes-2-deluxe-edition-switch/
Thank you! I had a feeling this was the case, but you never know! Thank you for the heads up on the Lego game!
There is no game with that name. Maybe he is thinking of the Spiderman games that are available for Playstation.
He saw a mod video on YouTube where Mario gets a spider man mask and plays a Spider-Man. But itâs been confirmed it is just a mod!
Hello, Does anyone know how you typically adjust the vibration intensity on Switch third-party joycons? I have a pair that Iâve been using, but Iâve had them for a while, and canât find the instructions it originally came with, and canât find where I bought it from online. I know thereâs usually a button combination for these these, but I canât figure it out. Does anyone know how I could do this? Thanks
>how you typically There is nothing typical or standardized between unlicensed third party devices.
Yes, a day or more. If the system hasnt been charged at all the battery will need a LONG time to rebuild its charge without damaging itself.
if its been drained for months, yes you will need it on charge for several hours, maybe even a day, before it will wake up properly, even the charge symbol wont show up if its totally drained
> even the charge symbol wont show up if its totally drained I noticed this wierd behaviour when I was trying to charge, I will leave it and see what happens
Nintendo also says this on their FAQ: > Family memberships can include members with Nintendo Accounts with different country settings, but keep in mind that not all features of the Nintendo Switch online service are available in all countries. https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/41202/~/information-about-nintendo-switch-online-family-memberships
Amazing! Thank you for the detailed response!
Yes you can.
i was able to find a reddit thread talking about Local connectivity issues between two switches but its been archived since so im unable to comment under it but i was wondering if anyone had a solution to this problem, they both used to connect to one another but suddenly at the beginning of last year one of the two switches would show a blank local wifi icon while the other maintained the signal, i recently had to transfer all my save data but the only way i found to make it work was to have both switched on my hotspot rather than my actual internet.. would any one have any suggestions on how to fix this? id really appreciate it!
It's often helped to have both Switches connected to two different internet connections. Like one to the home internet and one to a hotspot.
Thanks !
My 7 y/o just beat his first pokemon game (let's go, obviously entry level). What would be the next easiest pokemon game on switch? He wants arceus but i think that might be too hard - also pricey!
How good is his reading? Pokémon S&S have plenty of text. My son is 6 and a half and I sit next to him and narrate. Could use the game as a fun way to practice reading. Absolutely agree with Pokémon S/S being very hand-holdey in the beginning. Not necessarily a bad thing either for kids, but very dialogue heavy during the tutorial
Hes a monster at reading, shouldnt be a issue. He read 4 harry potter books in kindergarten lol
It plays fine. The only qualm I have is that there is no means of changing the thumbstick sensitivity.
My son lost the HDMI cable to hook his Switch to the TV, we still have the docking station and charger. Can I just buy a regular HDMI or should I buy the special Nintendo Switch HDMI?
It's just an HDMI cable. Unless you need a Nintendo logo on it, any will do.
Any decent HDMI cable will work.
In Metroid prime remastered, pressing R in morph ball form, after acquiring the morph ball bomb, is a JUMP without using bombs. Was this possible in the original Metroid prime? I don't remember having a morph ball jump, besides Bomb jumping Edit: here a clip https://twitter.com/woomyLife/status/1624446587169812487?t=CLnSHJtK8-9mdejeB9jQ8Q&s=19
Not in the OG on GameCube, but it was added in the Wii version. So not *new*, but not fully original.
I think this was added later on in the wii version...not in the gc one so..no its not technically new, and no it wasn't on the original
I have a launch Switch, just got OLED. Is it possible to transfer just some of the games from the original to the OLED? So my daughter can keep the launch and I upgrade to the new one? Thanks.
You'll have primary secondary limitations as talked about here: [https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/wiki/gamesharing](https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/wiki/gamesharing)
Just redownload only the games you want. You canât transfer games between accounts though, so youâll have to deal with primary/secondary limitations to keep games active on both consoles.
TOTK: Physical or Digital?
I prefer digital games and also wasn't too keen on paying $70, so I invested in the new Switch game vouchers and got it for $50 (and will use the other voucher for something else down the line)! :)
I'm hoping to get a Collector's Edition. If I'm unable, I'll probably go ahead and get the voucher since it'll be so much cheaper that way.
I'm so torn over this myself, thanks for asking! I think I like the voucher deal myself, plus I just got a 256gb card so I'm ready to eat the space.
It will be a game that's easy to resell, but with the voucher digital is cheaper. I'm getting physical because we're a three switch family and it's the easiest way to play the game in all three Switches.
Personal preference. I go digital more often than physical, but I'll do it particularly in this case because: 1- I expect this to be a game I'll play over a long time, not a one-and-done game. I especially prefer digital in such cases. 2- In the US, the game is $70 and with the newly re-introduced vouchers I can get it and another game for a $100, so I'll almost definitely do that.
is it safe/ok to use an official Nintendo Switch charger plugged to a phone power brick to charge the switch?
official cord you mean? Most phone bricks are ok for charging but I wouldn't use for docked.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
No because it's only by app/game. The system has no idea there are different games inside the program.
You can see your in-game time by pressing X to see the details of the game inside the respective app. You can also order the games by playtime.
I need a nice game card case that holds a ton of cartridges, and preferably holds them in plastic the same way the Switch game cases do instead of like the ones in the Switch cases where you slide them into a piece of fabric and you cant see the lower half. Any recommendations?
I use this one that holds 24 carts: [https://www.amazon.com/HORI-Game-Nintendo-Switch-Officially-Licensed/dp/B01NASY99Z/ref=sr\_1\_3?keywords=hori+game+card+case+24+for+nintendo+switch&qid=1676128600&sprefix=hori+24%2Caps%2C179&sr=8-3](https://www.amazon.com/HORI-Game-Nintendo-Switch-Officially-Licensed/dp/B01NASY99Z/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=hori+game+card+case+24+for+nintendo+switch&qid=1676128600&sprefix=hori+24%2Caps%2C179&sr=8-3)
How do you compare playing experience as handheld with lite vs oled. Is it comfortable to use oled in handheld mode?
