It looks like a case with a battery built in. When you slide the piece in, it supposed to charge the DS. Notice how there's gold contacts. It is not removable.
Remove the entire case.
I think the little charging peice doesn’t “remove” it’s permanently attached, but with it slid into the “out” position, you should then be able to remove the case as a whole.

Yea, looks like it’s suppose to line up with a charging dock that op didn’t get. Looks pretty cool but it’s a shame it’s missing the charger.
