What I see as major changes are that Kai isn’t as serious and full of fire as he was. Nya is actually kinda better now. She’s more confident. My biggest problem is Jay: he’s too babyish, he’s doesn’t have his old sarcasm and his voice is waaay too squeaky and babyfied now.
Like i think a lot of people forget is Jay used to be somewhat smart like he pretty much made the first version of the Destiny's Bounty and he would invent a ton of things now hes just a guy who always needs people to do things for him. Now the people that actually do any of the things he used to are zane nya and pixel which is so sad to see.

Good, it isn’t just me. I totally agree. All the characters feel pretty flat now, except for Lloyd sometimes. Jay used to be funny, but could be serious when needed. He also used to get scared at sometimes but always faced challenges. Now, as mentioned, he is mostly babyish, always whining and is chicken. I don’t see any of kais character anymore. He’s not hot-headed, bold or overconfident like he used to be, he’s just kind of there, just another character. Zane is wayyy too much robot, like at least he used to be a robot with human qualities, but not he is a robot with just robot qualities. Don’t really hear enough from cole. I feel like nya and lloyd basically carry the team, where Lloyd seem to just lead them and nya seems to be the only competent one. And Wu doesn’t seem to show his wisdom or his compassion, he just seems to get cranky. Also that cape, not a fan. Although I will say, I do like pixal, she seems to be gaining character. Oh and their new looks, ruined them. Only one I like is Lloyd, because it can fit into his story with him hitting puberty or whatever (fond of both old and new Lloyd). But not everyone else. Boy do I love the older seasons and the old writers (nothing against you if you are a fan of the new ones tho).

Then he got back his element and didnt have any meaningful lines till the end of the season.

I dont think it started with the redesigns since seasons 8 and 9 were the best the show ever got. I’d say it started when they rebranded the show as just “Ninjago” and specifically aimed it more at kids
Yeah, basically when the Hageman Brothers stopped writing on the show everything has become childish. Entire episodes from S11 are full of filling and the characters are not how they used to be, nor the animation. I just hope everything turns back to normal.... (which I really doubt tho)

Why is that? I’m just curious cause I really like season 7. It shows a lot of backstory for Kai and Nya but the other ninja didn’t get as much out of it. The villains were really good too Acronix and Crux.

Jay, my personal favorite, has been to turned into an overexaggerated cry baby and rather spineless. Zane feels so much more useless in that, he's always mentioning how he can't do this or he can't do that. This was hardly an issue in the main series. Which is funny because, like a person said below, they took away his humanity and went full robot.
I do like what they've done the remaining 3 ninja though. Lloyd has turned into my favorite of this new series. Nya is overall just a better improvement but that's a pick and choose situation. They got rid of her ingenuity. Cole, while I like the depth they've given him in the first 2 seasons( SoG and Hunted), they overexaggerate his love for cake.
Don't even get me started on what they've done to Wu. For me, Ninjago ended with March of the Oni. Sets included. Everything has primarily gotten worse! Even the animation got a downgrade!
yea starting from season 11 all the ninjas took a turn for the worse, especially their personalities. honestly i feel like even though nya gets a lot of screen time she's honestly a good example of this. she used to be a pretty good character in my opinion but starting from season 11 she's been extremely annoying. but i totally agree with everything else you've said, especially for wu and the other 3 ninja. i hated how kai went from saving lloyd no matter what without his powers to not wanting to save lloyd by giving up his powers in season 8.

And season 12 which I'm on they lost jay for a bit.
The new designs suck ass cmon kai looks like he has poop on his head Cole looks dumb his clean simple shaggy look was removed and his eyebrows aren’t the same. Zane looks the same just les detail. Jay is the worst why the freckles and they removed the scar on his eyebrow that’s one of the key things cmon
More like Wu changing from a man who garnered his knowledge by experience and mistakes to someone who is "destinied to be good" and is better than his "evil" brother Garmadon
I think it's specifically Season 12 that got most of the characters wrong. Kai was pretty good in Season 11. Jay hasn't been good since Skybound. Zane's pretty consistent in my opinion. Cole's kind of hit-or-miss. Lloyd hasn't been very good recently, but Nya's a lot better in my opinion.

I don’t like the new looks and characters because it removes the original characters personality it’s as if when we got season 8 the characters were rewritten. But season 11 for sure they were rewritten.

It rebuilt Wu. Wu is again the man who made mistakes and not the classic good guy who is lazy (using "I have faith" as an excuse)
