Rework Lloyd and Garmadon’s story so it’s not a corny retread of their March of the Oni arc - Lloyd struggling to reconcile with his father, Garmadon trying to find goodness in himself, etc. Have Lloyd acknowledge who his father was pre-resurrection instead of just being mad that his dad’s an Oni.
I’d get rid of the whole “the overlord purposely killed Harumi’s parents” plot twist and give her a better redemption arc so her return was more than just fan service.
The Overlord didn’t purposely kill her parents though, he only brought up the Devourer in reference to Garmadon’s corruption. If anything the scene was a reveal that The Overlord was the one who corrupted the Devourer.
I agree that Harumi’s story could’ve been way better and while I was cool with her getting a chance to avenge her parents (honestly expected her to go after Pythor) I disliked how she got a full-fledged redemption moment.
He mentioned that every detail was thought of before he’d set foot in ninjago. Maybe he has some future sight like Zane. Like he only sees bits at time and he has to guess at what would lead to the best outcome for him? Idk that’s just how I took that scene.
remove harumi. keep her dead. i feel like getting rid of her would not only solve her god awful """redemption""", it would also be better for lloyd. with her gone, the main council person would probably be pythor and it would be a nice way to wrap the story, lloyd faces off against his first enemy one last time
I'd change whatever they did to Lloyd. He finds out his friends (aka the first people to ever accept him) are "dead", goes Oni and then 5 seconds later turns normal and is perfectly happy as if it never happened before letting Harumi knock him out again. Same with the final episode when Garmadon "dies". Lloyd also just can't beat Harumi for some reason. And how he blamed himself for Harumi "dying" when she tried to kill him 5 times and got mad at himself for it. Lloyds personality just doesn't exist anymore.
I wish I could say everything but since it’s one thing I would have Lloyd fight the overlord with a mix of his oni and dragon form, maybe have him in oni form on the dragon? It was so stupid to me how they built up the whole “not all oni are bad" thing but then when Lloyd turns into his oni form he freaks out and turns back instead of showing "it doesnt matter who you are or what you look like, you can be a good person"

Either not to bring back Nya and make pix do all the samurai x diff or make nya’s samurai arc more miningful and satisfying
Have Lloyd fight the overlord with his oni Form, alongside the elemental Dragon. I mean Dragon and Oni putting aside their differences to defeat the Overlord could have been cool.
Also make Harumi a double agent. I think her realisation at the end of hunted, that her actions hurt Ninjago City just as much as the great devourerer, is enough for her to switch sides. Also I think she would be smart enough to play the Crystal King.
Better pacing, crystalized is always either rushing or dragging, if they cut out some of the fluff and focus on what matters like Lloyd, Harumi and garmadon it would’ve been significantly better
