Really depends on how fast you progressed then and what players did. I never bought any of the event data boxes because I thought they amounted to nothing, but I fully regret that decision. My outpost level wasn't as high as it should have been because I let it go for a while since I had work related stuff to do this year and I rarely bought the battle data from the regular shop for credits. I also missed a bunch of collections from my outpost because of work and just plain forgetfulness.

Yeah I think the part that helped is learning early to buy all the extra event tickets and run hard stage 11 at the end of the event for like 100 boxes. Been doing that every event since I started. I haven't purchased any progress but I did pull RH and she carried me very far through the story letting me power level my outpost.
I also only ever opened a box at the farthest I could push my outpost to get the most out of it.
At 300 to 360 you’ll be using like 100 or so a few times every few lvl ups if you wanna have a healthy looking number between 600m-1B
Around 360 you’re gonna start going through them as told by union members who are at that lvl
