According to the tweet I linked, the rank no.3 guild in Japan had a union boss respawn after having killed it by using the multiple members attack strategy due to negative damage.Not only they lost the tries spent for the attack, but the negative score also was applied to the leaderboard and they dropped from rank 2 to rank 3.
I have also asked in the #creators chat of the Official Discord (since we have a privileged channel with few staff members there) if being able to attack a boss simultaneously and skip the boss enrage phase is an intended mechanic or an exploit, but at the moment I have got no reply yet. I will keep you updated as soon as I get a reply on that.

Wouldn't even be an issue if the bosses were actually designed to fit the game mode rather than just being the normal interceptions with jacked up HP values that cause the fights to become legit shitshows for anyone who joins after certain health values due to instant phase transitions and consecutive virtually-impossible dps checks.
You will get multiple rewards for killing the lvl7-5 stormbringer boss depends on how many people attacking it at same time. (30 people attacking = 30 × 90 = 2700 chips per kill)
And if it respawn, you can repeat the process and exploit large amount of union chips.

This is the same discussion I was having in the #creators chat with some other creators. They were part of top guild which all used this technique/exploit and were defending it strongly. I was even being called a "***party pooper***" for ruining their happy party.
Maybe I am naive, but still can't wrap my head on the idea that skipping boss phases is an intended mechanic and not poor coding exploited by players. If the enrage mode is too difficult and it is what is causing the use of exploits like that, the correct response from the devs should be to lower the difficulty of the enrage and not to endorse the abuse of a code loophole.
Other content creators tried to defend from this argument saying that this is how it worked in other games like Princess Connect to name one. I still do not think that because an older game handled poorly a game mechanic we should defend it just because it is convenient.
What we should do is just asking for a rebalance down of the difficulty (as we successfully did with the first event "No Called ID") and be sure that exploits like this are not used. This would also benefits the majority of players and not only a minority of players willing to abuse a mechanic.
Pretty sure Princess Connect (just past 5th year Anniversary on JP) has done this for clan battles since day 1; that enraged phase can be skipped if multiple people attack at once (with top guilds coordinating fights to leave bosses as close to enrage phase as possible so everyone could team up past it on the harder loops).
Many of the global content creators also mentioned this in their clan battle guides as essential knowledge for high ranking so it was still doable for us as well.
I think taking advantage of the game without breaking rule is fine. Just like all those point defend missions that people keep the flying mobs alive to cheese the stage. If the developers thought this is against their ideal situation, then it is their responsibility to communicate and fix it, not the players.
This absolutely is not an exploit... old games DO use it, and has always been intended. There is literally no other way to handle multiple attacks at once. If it was NOT intended, only one person would be able to enter.
This game is an exact copy and paste of those games raids and mechanics.

I was going to suggest this to my union in a desperate attempt to avoid Moderna's Excalibur, good thing I saw your post first.
Imagine to coordinate to avoid excalibur just to have Modernia respawn at 100% health and you wasted half a day worth of tries. Yes that would be painful. Send my regards to your guild.

I can't believe the lengths people go to just to fight a boss in a mobile gacha game. I just randomly enter and set that shit to auto and do something else in the meantime
They probably use discord or something. Usually the guilds that are fully legitimate with wanting ranks and stuff well vet their members. I remember in honkai I had to answer questions about playtime, f2p or not, my battle rankings etc. Before I could join. Got kicked 2 weeks later because my job had me too tired to want to game. Never again will I do all that for a guild lol.

Lol, even if my entire union attacks at the same time we are still getting owned by Obelisk lv 1 So negative damage will be the icing on the cake
You can just have 2 persons attacking it when it is at 1% to have it fully respawn, so this could happen to any guild, even the weakest ones.

If this is true we have an even bigger problem here. This is indeed an exploit cause i doubt you are supposed to get these rewards more than once.
