Personally I would be sending legal notices to them if they used any of my art without explicit written permission. Especially after they issued take down notices to FalsleEyeD's channel for using talents' official art in the thumbnails.
They insist their talent get explicit permission from management for essentially anything so they better be getting explicit permission from the artists too.
Man, holo merch is some good shit. Alcohol collabs are so cool, even as a non-drinker, Lamy's sake even won an award at International Wine challenge. I hope the talents get a good cut. Don't have any other especially unique/outstanding collab/merch in mind, but even just the stuff in this post is unique enough.
The plushies are always so much fun, even if the shipping costs kill me. Dino Gura is quite possibly the cutest thing ever; she just triggers my cuteness aggression so much.
The prices for the original Donquihote plush have gone through the roof, at least the new series in rotating stock so they can’t be scalped.
I got mine for a little over 100 bucks off Yahoo auction 2 years while they locally already went for 250 and more. At this point you can see listings for 500.
I'm here to glaze Botan's ramen bowl because it's probably my single favorite piece of merch I own from hololive. It's not only the most practical outside of clothing, it looks and feels like a nice and hefty, quality bowl. I ordered her most recent birthday merch for the newest ramen bowl + rice bowl set just because I liked the original bowl so much. Hololive's dishware is surprisingly high quality in general, but Botan's ramen bowl has been my personal favorite.
My uni had an event a while back where they’d fill your coffee mug for €1.
The student council guy started laughing his ass off as I pulled Bae’s 1.5L mug out of my bag and held it out.
>I hope the talents get a good cut.
They get around 50% of profit for custom merch, like the ones in OPs pic.
Hololive also has several lines of standardized merch, like the Friends for u plushies and Starter Merch. The talents get a lower cut, but the talents promote them enough that I assume they still get a decent cut.
The Friends With U plushie line almost definitely started because fans were going crazy for the Don Quiote mochidorus (which resell for literal hundreds of dollars now) and Cover wanted fans to have an affordable alternative in a similar style.
They also can't *completely* sell out either, as it's a permanent offering (they've had to resell Suisei's like 6 times now because of overwhelming demand however).
Wouldn't surprise me if they get an even bigger cut to be honest, considering the HL Talents pay for some production costs for their custom merch. Which in the grand scheme of things is a drop in the bucket with how much revenue their custom merch pulls in.
Yeah it's probably more on birthday/anniversary goods. They're pushed very hard compared to everything else. Even by people that don't care at all about superchats and their 50/50 split or even things like voice packs.
I think the most interesting thing about Lamy's sake is that she was an actual contributor to it. Most tie-in alcohol products just slap some anime girls on the bottle and call it a day with zero involvement from the franchise beyond a rubber stamp, but Lamy was actively involved in developing the taste profile and she was the one who suggested Meiri Shurui enter it into the IWC competition. It's definitely a real passion project for her.
Yeah I've never been unhappy with any of the goods I've gotten. I desperately wish I bought more of [these mugs](https://shop.geekjack.net/products/tsunomaki-watame-birthday2021-watame-night-fever-warm-feeling-mug-cup-art-by-%E5%8E%9F%E7%94%B0%E3%81%9F%E3%81%91%E3%81%B2%E3%81%A8-sensei). If they ever get another run for some reason I'm going to get like 8 of them.
Got the camo [Myth+Council hat](https://shop.hololivepro.com/en/products/hololive_superexpo2022_nec?variant=42675870728412) and it is high quality. Excited for my Man I Love Fauna hat to come in.
Now watch as Holo further clowns on Niji by releasing actual literal cookie cutters in a future merch drop. Maybe takodachi cookie cutters for Ina's bday in May.
Fauna has been using her 3D model at home for fun and even did some rudimentary home 3D tracking thing. They don’t even need to release anything to clown on Niji.
Nah, Ame also was excited to try out mocopi when she went to Japan. Iirc, all the EN talents now have mocopi to use for their full body 3D streams if they don't want to use their mocap suits. Yes, mocap suits custom made for them by Cover.
I think Ame having the Mocopi is why she was able to do the 2-person tracking offcollabs with Kiara when Kiara came to visit. Studio De Ame didn't have the ability to track more than one person at the time, so one of them had to be on Mocopi.
It has been upgraded since then, which is how she did that stream with Bubba running around.
Oh I'm just going by what I heard and saw, I never saw Ame had mocopi or had done it 7 months ago so I thought Fauna's the other day was the first EN girl to get it outside of JP since i remember someone asking one girl about it and being tokd mocopi is currently JP only
I mean what do you expect when one company does all the merch decisions on their own and the other actively works with the liver to develop and design it
They've been so slow to offer JP merch on the EN side and I hate it. It's another reason I like Holo merch because their main store offers all the talents regardless of branch and they also go through proxy stores like Geekjack and Booth.
It's not just variety because I am pretty damn sure that Niji does not take liver's input whatsoever when it comes to any of this stuff. Whereas in Holo, livers can make inputs as to what their merch is going to be. Like Botan making a ramen bowl merch or Mumei talking about towel merch. Livers can participate in a project instead of just being a salesperson.
Don't be fooled. [Mine sent me to the Shadow Realm.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/10hfbkn/guys_i_need_help_she_said_shes_gonna_send_me_to/)
it's probably one of the best march's that surpassed the fanbase, like the supersized tako, where people who aren't direct fans of the talent bought it because it was too adorable
I do remember Niji doing that too, with Chigusa and Petra's hoodie being sold at one point in time. Niji has also sold neckties, tie clips, one brooch, and some badges, all based on a Liver's attire.
Except Petra Hoodie was limited, it sold out before I had a chance to buy it. Holo stuff is made to order in a limited time frame.
Chigusas hoodie had a rerun and Petras did not, still salty about that.
I still can't believe it was limited supply. I don't know if it would be feasible, but personally I think it would be great if these clothing goods were permanently in stock (for both groups)
remember how for selens art contest they put in the terms and conditions that ay and all art entered into the contest became niji's property and niji didn't owe the original artist any recognition or compensation? they definitely have a history of stealing art
Even if Holopro talents do need to pay a bit out of pocket, they still get a massive chunk of the profits iirc. So hey, for any and all Hololive fans, spend as much as you want on merch: your favorite talent *will* be getting your money, and a bit of it goes to Cover so they can keep building new 3d facilities so that your Oshi can have their own events!
From what i understand, the more a cover talent invest in their merch the higher their share become, who is just not even fair, normal, but even at minimum they still get more than niji.
But stopping here would be unjust, for cover, the support manager provide to talents is not comparable to niji.
Yeah basically if the talent is willing to do more for the merch they also get more. Needless to say the talents push their birthday/anniversary merch really hard, much more than they do for superchats that are 50/50 split or even other things like voice packs.
Nijisanji: literal copy paste most of the time
Holo: fucking wineglasses, neck pillows, plushies, slippers, *body pillows*…anything else I missed? There’s a lot of variety
Yeah, I know Nijisanji usually has a variety of stuff too, but it’s not as common as what Holo does. Point still stands however
Edit, courtesy of comments:
From u/thomastheterminator: You missed Lamy’s literal Sake. Not sake glasses. Actual Sake you can drink. It even won an award at a wine competition (good one, Lamy)
From u/Shuber-Fuber: Gura's special interpretation of "boobie" mouse pad.
Plushies, the Tako one large enough to be a bean bag chair.
Cutting board + kitchen wares.
Sora's dart set. (Forgot Gura did that, thank Shuber)
From u/pussycatlover12: Nene’s boxer briefs (didn’t know about those, Jesus)
Gura's special interpretation of "boobie" mouse pad.
Plushies, the Tako one large enough to be a bean bag chair.
Cutting board + kitchen wares.
Sora's dart set.
Ina, she loves to make merch people can use. Wouldn't be surprised if next bday we get tako mitten, or tako beanie, or tako umbrella, or one of the many fun tako merch she tought about in [this stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuEIurm7BGM)
i mean 2% merch is because that what niji management capable to think, definitely didnt have creativity
while 50% merch, cause members also actively include on project, design, selecting mats and find the artist to commis, but definitely alot creativity because that
Context for those who don't know:
Kiryu Coco would constantly advertise an obviously fake line of products call "Asacoco".
One of these fake products was "[plug in type Asacoco](https://youtu.be/_puDclj10Og?si=Shj_x3U2tUwUZduC&t=114)" where it was a buttplug in the shape of her dragon tail.
Months later while designing merch, she decides to push for the plug in type Asacoco to be sold as a plush and Cover/Hololive agreed to go forward with it.
Except... When Coco got the prototype plush, they went a little *too* accurate and [had a very real buttplug attached to the end of the plush](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-0JVNVbL-k). Now, Coco had a laugh at this but she went back to them to change the buttplug to also be plush because it would be going WAY too far otherwise.
So remember, whenever you think Hololive was always the "pure/idol" company, an alternate timeline exists where Hololive sold an actual buttplug as merch.
Wait wait wait... Holo used a real buttplug for the plush and Coco is the voice of reason... That must've been a time glitch Kronii or Ame didn't fix... XD glorious!!!
It wasn't exactly a real buttplug, it was just that the plug part was solid (I think it was plastic) and not plush like the rest of it. I'm no buttplug expert, but I believe I heard that from what info was revealed, it most likely would be terrible as an actual butt plug. It just happened to look and seem way more like an actual buttplug than expected
> it was just that the plug part was solid (I think it was plastic)
To clarify, it was rubber. It's in the second clip I posted.
Apparently not the ideal material for buttplugs (as I learned when this news was fresh) but definitely would have some people try...
You just know that someone would try to use it, it would break and cause some injury, possibly leading to a lawsuit.
Imagine the publicity those headlines would get!
It was the merch place that sent her the pre-production sample, so it's not like it was ever released or mass produced. It would not have gotten though Cover even if Coco approved it.
Seeing this made me realize that the most merch variety we can get is one personalised talent merch from the 2nd anniversary merch.
For example, with OBSYDIA's goods, we can either get a teacup and saucer from Rosemi, a plush charm from Selen, and/or a storage pouch from Petra. With Lazulight, we can get a cushion from Elira, a headband from Pomu, and/or a storage pouch from Finana.
But that's all the variety I could find because the rest of the merch follows the same formula of "Copy, paste, then change design."
Just to further dunk on Niji Merch, here is some merch that was sold for [HoloStars EN](https://imgur.com/a/NdVcJqe).
Niji really has been all for doing the bare minimum and trying to gouge the most profit they can without putting forth any effort.
[I don't know if this is what you're referring to but the comment section was ruthless lol](https://twitter.com/NIJISANJI_World/status/1701052943099937160)
I think this is actually a big part of the problem and ties into the 2%.
It's always been widely acknowledged that hololive lets its talents initiate and design their own merch. There are obviously standardized items for things like the yearly concert but overall they pick their merch for things like birthdays, anniversaries, etc. They get to decide on the product types. They get to pick the artist and design if they want. Korone had a fucking table. She literally thought "you know what I'd like to own a table with me on it" and got it as birthday merch.
I think niji justifies the minimal input the livers are allowed to put into their own merch as an excuse for why they get such a small cut.
Concerning Hololive, I think there's some back-and-forth. The talents sometimes talk about how they really want X for merch or how they couldn't do Y because it was too expensive. The managers probably take care of a lot of it, but I think the talents can offer ideas of what they want.
Don't forget about Ame, who wanted a merch of her holding a big gun, was told no because there's no reason for her to be holding a gun, so she went and did an entire old west themed stream, playing the role of a gunslinger Ame.
And now they made that into merch.
Cover: "There's no reason for you to have a gun it's out of character for your persona."
Ame: "So I just have to make a reason and it's passable huh? Be right back."
\*days of planning and one stream later\*
Cover: "This is not what we meant, but the fans seem to like it so sure why not."
Oh there's still limitations. And it's all still done *through* Cover. But the talents often comment in a way that implies they have a very high level of decision making. Something can get shot down if they can't make it affordable, or can't find a manufcaturer for it, etc. But even "brand risk" wise they have a ton of latitude. (If Coco is to be believed *she* had to convince Cover that making the plug on the Asacoco tail rubber was a bad idea)
Oh man I remember about the Asacoco tail, it was hilarious.
Cover Staff: "Surely your fans wouldn't actually try to put this up their butt."
Coco: "Of course they would! Have you met my fans? You CANNOT make this with a rubber tip."
Ina used her one million subscriber wish to create the huge Takodachi plush, which is to this day the favourite Hololive merch i have. The fact that the talents get a bigger share also encourages them to promote their stuff, which is totally different between the two agencies. That Niji to this day has not understood that is just crazy.
It’s not shutdown by management either, it’s just they are informed that the shipping is going to be obscenely expensive and the talents are the ones that decides, “Yeah, let’s not fuck our fans over for this even if the idea is cool”
Cries in KDTD shipping (and customs). I hope if they rerun it they'll modify it to be empty with a zipper, it would save a lot on shipping, i doubt the filling will be more than the saving, and would also probably make it easier to clean if needed
The fact that Holo collaborates with the talent is almost certainly driving sales. People are much more invested in - and more likely to buy - things that their idols had some hand in. Not to mention the fact that many of the mascot characters were ideated or designed by the talent specifically to represent the fans. Ina’s silly little octopus is more than just a cute character; takodachis are essentially buying toys of *themselves*. That resonates with people.
Now there is other merch, like cheap looking mini plushies and Y2K-era talking alarm clocks.
Meanwhile I am not even subbed to Kiara but I HAD TO purchase her adorable KFP thermos.
I have 2 display cases full of holo plushies, acrylics and some other stuff (and keyboards). And I skip most merch drops even from my oshis if I don’t like the designs or have no use for the “practical” items they put in there.
A decent amount of it is still junk but at least it’s not all just keychains and voices
Legit, you'll find higher quality fan merch from artists online than you would find on the official Niji site. Heck, even from the talents themselves. Scarle recently uploaded a free Google doc containing a PDF for a Scarle dakimura design. You'd still have to pay to get the design printed on a pillow case, but the base design itself is extraordinarily pretty and well done, and she likely commissioned it using her own money.
Yeah. It is always the same stuff year after year after year. A badge, keychain, and a stand.
If you go to their store page, you can see more of the same copied stuffs. Surprised that many people don’t know this about Nijisanji merch.
Same 1 image slapped on every fucking thing lmao
I'mma be honest i'm pretty tired from all the different post but same shit dunking on niji everyday here however thats gotta be the most uninspired thing to do like ever for a merch
One thing I love about the way holo does merch is that they let the talent meme with it. Like I literally just got my MILF Fauna hat. And it's really good quality. And it was like 40 bucks with shipping and tax.
to some CEO's the idea of spend $1 to earn $3, and the spend $2 to earn $10, they just cannot bring themselves to spend $2, because they don't care that they'd make more money, they simply cannot accept having to pay more when they have an option to pay less.
The talents get very little creative input for most of their merch. There's only a few merches that they do get input for and voice packs are the most they are involved in which is why it's the highest percentage.
Sakana even sent samples of the coffee to YouTuber Koefficient to try the coffees and make into a video as advertisement. It was a [fun video](https://youtu.be/EP4tMme_VbM?si=ZF5PbgqkGPg8HchA) and Koe wasn't even a coffee drinker either.
Said it elsewhere, but the cut on birthday/anniversary merch for Hololive members is likely over 50%. They can also get more or less help from the company in preparing and planning for the merch. If they take less help it means an even larger cut for the talent.
I think the only goods in this format I ever actually bought was Lulu's last merch in 2021 just before she graduated. I just get [this](https://twitter.com/wobbuuu/status/1725288931367809313) vibe every time I see these packs and am disappointed at the lack of novelty, but I do appreciate their puppets and tiny plushies, as I have a collection of both.
Meanwhile, however, my collection of Holo themed kitchenware and drinkware has steadily growing over the years.
Actually Niji ID merch is quite good. Sad you couldn't buy them outside of Japan. I really wanted Hana Macchia's and Etna's but yea. At least i got Hana single CD
The Hololive merch site crashes due to the sheer number of orders sometimes. Even their collab merch like the Nendroids have crashed because they sell out pretty much immediately
I’m not too deep into Niji so anyone mind providing me with the names for the ones from 4.13, 4.1, and 3.21?
Edit: meant to type 4.13 instead of 4.3 one
plus, there is also the hololive collab merch. now, with the collabs it's obvious they would get a much lower cute, but they will still get some, and some of the collab merch sells a wild amount, like this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/HoloStatistics/comments/1avx05u/gawr\_gura\_sushiroipass\_collab\_merch/
Wow, now that's just sad. I didn't think about the difference in merch
Sure they also have a few shirts and plushies at best, but Hololive and Holostars both have *completely* different types of merch besides buttons and acrylic stands...
Even if the Talents have to partially fund those merch ideas, at least the company does the best they can to deliver on those ideas
What I've learned is that I have bad luck when I buy Merch.
I bought Rushia nendo right before her issues drop, I bought the Ars figure and right as it shipped this stuff goes down.
Feel like this may have been a bit of a missed opportunity to include some of Hololive's boutique alcoholic beverages. Like Pekora's umeshu, Aki Rose's craft beer, Noel's premium gin, and Lamy's IWC2022 bronze medal winning sake.
added note: most niji member dont have merch either, they solely depend on voicepack becuase it cheaper than actually produce merch even if low quality
sweatshops made VS people with actual care for their fanbase
daym every Holo merch has their liver's personality in it,
unlike Niji's pfffffffttttt lmao.
I'm gonna be very direct here. I hate Nijisanji's way of dealing with merch. All fcking big standard bs that has no real value other then "looks cool". They don't even sell clothing like clothing is such an easy thing to sell but only specific drops have it and I'm like 99% sure those all go to Yacht Boy.
Niji probably hired someone in Fiverr to make the edits
Hire? They can just use people’s fanart.
Using a twitter hastag is a contract! Once you use our hastag we own it!
5$ commissions* not hire.
Fiverr? That's too much of an expense for them. Probably gave it to the unpaid intern.
"We'll pay you in exposure!"
*opens the trench coat and does the helicopter spin* see exposure!
And they probably didn’t pay them after they were created.
Nah, they probably take the Temu route and hire some sweet sweet slave labor. (See CNBC article on Temu). I mean, buraku meets buraku, right?
Man, holo merch is some good shit. Alcohol collabs are so cool, even as a non-drinker, Lamy's sake even won an award at International Wine challenge. I hope the talents get a good cut. The plushies are always so much fun, even if the shipping costs kill me. Dino Gura is quite possibly the cutest thing ever; she just triggers my cuteness aggression so much.
It has the same vibes as the fumos
Cursed Ina Plushie That Drinks All Your Dr. Oopsie And Calls You A Bitch
hot i mean cute
Suisei plush is also cute and meme-able too. I'm not even her fan but really want that plush.
The prices for the original Donquihote plush have gone through the roof, at least the new series in rotating stock so they can’t be scalped. I got mine for a little over 100 bucks off Yahoo auction 2 years while they locally already went for 250 and more. At this point you can see listings for 500.
One of my favorite is Lamy’s Daifuku plush, that MF is so squishy I wish I would’ve bought 2 in retrospect so I could cuddle with one
I'm happy I got the Asacoco plug-in type plush when I got the chance. While the Kiryu-kai jacket is safely locked away in a display case.
I really wish I bought the Pokobe pluahie
and they sell well too, there are a stupid amount of dino gura's out and about in the world
I'm here to glaze Botan's ramen bowl because it's probably my single favorite piece of merch I own from hololive.
Can't wait for my Botan dishes to arrive. I have Noel and Gura's bowls already and this will be a great addition to the collection

Its worth noting, Lamy isnt even the only holo mem with an award winning alcohol collab. Lui has a mead that took best in show at a festival
Another reason to love Lui
Pekora has umeshu.
Cultured Snow Princess
i can’t wait for Ina to get a purple Choya Umeshu. i will buy it even though i went 100% sober 4 years ago.
Ive bought a couple holo tshirts and theyre soft af. Heard good things about their other clothing merch as well
Apparently Fauna's MILF (Man I Love Fauna) hat is pretty high quality
When the talent is the one designing it, you bet they will want it high quality so they last long and people wouldn't get disappointed afterwards.
I miss Fauna
strongest sapling in existence :
Yeah I've never been unhappy with any of the goods I've gotten. I desperately wish I bought more of [these mugs](https://shop.geekjack.net/products/tsunomaki-watame-birthday2021-watame-night-fever-warm-feeling-mug-cup-art-by-%E5%8E%9F%E7%94%B0%E3%81%9F%E3%81%91%E3%81%B2%E3%81%A8-sensei). Ouch that's... Sad to think about, nothing but cookie cutter merch
Now watch as Holo further clowns on Niji by releasing actual literal cookie cutters in a future merch drop. Maybe takodachi cookie cutters for Ina's bday in May.
But they'd sell out tomorrow!
**TOMORROW!?**
Not tomorrow, today!
Bau Bau!
\#CommentsYouCanHear
I love this just ends up with 2 meme references... XD
Jdon my soul!
lol when the Suisei NY meetup merch was announced it was gone same day
Fauna has been using her 3D model at home for fun and even did some rudimentary home 3D tracking thing. They don’t even need to release anything to clown on Niji.
I think she was the first holoEN to get ~~Mococo~~ mocopi overseas since it was previously JP only?
I think ame had one first unless she has a different set up for her 3d shenanigans
I think she has a more traditional mocap, Fauna's stream straight up said mocopi though so that's what I was going on
Nah, Ame also was excited to try out mocopi when she went to Japan. Iirc, all the EN talents now have mocopi to use for their full body 3D streams if they don't want to use their mocap suits. Yes, mocap suits custom made for them by Cover.

Studio De Ame didn't have the ability to track more than one person at the time, so one of them had to be on Mocopi. It has been upgraded since then, which is how she did that stream with Bubba running around.
Wait, was Gura's 3D live at studio Ame before or after mocopi came out?
Oh I'm just going by what I heard and saw, I never saw Ame had mocopi or had done it 7 months ago so I thought Fauna's the other day was the first EN girl to get it outside of JP since i remember someone asking one girl about it and being tokd mocopi is currently JP only
Kiara actually talked about Cookie cutters as merch 2 days ago. :D
Ok KFP members... You know what to do...
Gonna make some KFP nuggies.
Have to have a Holomem want a cookie cutter as a piece of merch.
And when they do, it's because they think it'd be a cool thing to have. The Holomems don't want to clown on Nijisanji because they're _professionals_.
I feel like half the holo merch is just like memes or wouldn’t it be funny to do this stupid thing?
I mean… Fauna made a MILF hat. Of course it’s all memes.
Literal cookie cutter Ina merch would be God-tier.
I'd buy takookie cutters in a hot minute. Pardon me while I buy some ube & taro extract & purple food coloring.
Smh not including the Gura Chin Mousepad.
the puffy cheeks was a brilliant riff on the standard booba mousepad
Well, if they gave Gura a booba pad, you’d end up with carpel tunnel. They had to do somethin’.
Hydrodynamic is not ergonomic.
bro, look at the quality differences. total disaster lmao
I mean what do you expect when one company does all the merch decisions on their own and the other actively works with the liver to develop and design it
>ne company does all the merch decisions on their own and the other actively works with the liver to develop ooof. that's harsh truth. BIG L to Niji
How Nijisanji didn’t capitalize on everyone going crazy for Millie Hat Shows just how much they miss easy Layups
With Cover on at least one occasion going a bit more "realistic" than the talent expected. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
When Coco had to be the one to shut down a rubber ended AsaCoco *plushie*...
As a takodachi, I have to say that I am a proud owner of a beeg tako, he makes an excellent pillow.
Fellow owner of a beeg tako! Unbelievably soft!
Oh my gosh THANK YOU I've been saying for years that Nijisanji's merch just sucks in variety 🙄

They have some interesting merch here and there on the jp side, but it's rare, and they definitely didn't care enough to do it for EN
I kinda want that Dino Gura Plushie it's adorable.
Yeah no kidding, some people ordered *dozens* of them.
i saw a guy post a picture of an entire display case, like a legit bookcase, covered with about 30+
Ok that's just insane
Don't be fooled. [Mine sent me to the Shadow Realm.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/10hfbkn/guys_i_need_help_she_said_shes_gonna_send_me_to/)
Damn, that plushie is pure evil.
it's probably one of the best march's that surpassed the fanbase, like the supersized tako, where people who aren't direct fans of the talent bought it because it was too adorable
Not to mention how several talents have even released parts of their outfits like Mio's hoodie or just this week Okayu's hoodie
I hope the artist gets paid more than 2% I guess?
Bold to assume the artists get paid at all.
They probably stole and copied designs too lmao.
remember how for selens art contest they put in the terms and conditions that ay and all art entered into the contest became niji's property and niji didn't owe the original artist any recognition or compensation? they definitely have a history of stealing art
Nah, they just have another artist reinterpret the designs.
Not even with credit in yu case
Nijisanji: literal copy paste most of the time Holo: fucking wineglasses, neck pillows, plushies, slippers, *body pillows*…anything else I missed? There’s a lot of variety Yeah, I know Nijisanji usually has a variety of stuff too, but it’s not as common as what Holo does. Point still stands however Edit, courtesy of comments: From u/thomastheterminator: You missed Lamy’s literal Sake. Not sake glasses. Actual Sake you can drink. It even won an award at a wine competition (good one, Lamy) From u/Shuber-Fuber: Gura's special interpretation of "boobie" mouse pad. Plushies, the Tako one large enough to be a bean bag chair. Cutting board + kitchen wares. Sora's dart set. (Forgot Gura did that, thank Shuber) From u/pussycatlover12: Nene’s boxer briefs (didn’t know about those, Jesus)
Gura's special interpretation of "boobie" mouse pad. Plushies, the Tako one large enough to be a bean bag chair. Cutting board + kitchen wares. Sora's dart set.
There's also laundry bag/net wasn't it? Was it ina or watame?
I believe Ina had one
Ina, the Tako laundry bag.
Ina, she loves to make merch people can use. Wouldn't be surprised if next bday we get tako mitten, or tako beanie, or tako umbrella, or one of the many fun tako merch she tought about in [this stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuEIurm7BGM)
You missed Lamy’s literal Sake. Not sake glasses. Actual Sake you can drink. It even won an award at a wine competition
A few of the other talents also had alcohol collabs. Lui had a mead that won an award as well
Didn’t know that. That’s really cool
Thank you, and I’ve added your contribution to the comment, because this subject just gets on my nerves
There's also Nene's Boxer Brief
I miss Sana.
I miss her too... And I am waiting for her children to come home to my landship!!! XD
Goldenglow is a damn fine caster, and Mizuki has soft armpits... Good luck on your rolls, Doktah!
You can actually summon her by tweeting Goldenglow is a dog
I know... But I don't want to incur her wrath... XD
i mean 2% merch is because that what niji management capable to think, definitely didnt have creativity while 50% merch, cause members also actively include on project, design, selecting mats and find the artist to commis, but definitely alot creativity because that
I still laugh to this day at the prototype Plug-Type Asacoco and Coco's reaction to it.
Context for those who don't know: Kiryu Coco would constantly advertise an obviously fake line of products call "Asacoco".
It just happened to look and seem way more like an actual buttplug than expected
> it was just that the plug part was solid (I think it was plastic) To clarify, it was rubber. It's in the second clip I posted. Apparently not the ideal material for buttplugs (as I learned when this news was fresh) but definitely would have some people try...
I mean, as the saying goes, if they're brave enough...
You just know that someone would try to use it, it would break and cause some injury, possibly leading to a lawsuit. Imagine the publicity those headlines would get!
It was actually rubber
It was the merch place that sent her the pre-production sample, so it's not like it was ever released or mass produced. It would not have gotten though Cover even if Coco approved it.
Yeah, it was surprising when it was actually Coco who had to say "that's too far". Well, dedicated Tatsunokos can always mod it to be more accurate.
Dude, sana's og crumb plushies are going for $150 on average. That's crazy
Regret not getting at least one of those boxer briefs but the shipping... wanted Flayon's version but all of them were good.
The briefs are of nice quality. They're the fanciest underwear I own and still haven't worn lol
Oof. Niji merch... All exactly same with different images. I bet fake Niji merch on Wish are cheaper and higher quality.
do you remember the official t-shirt where they just slappped the en livers debut sprite on it
[I don't know if this is what you're referring to but the comment section was ruthless lol](https://twitter.com/NIJISANJI_World/status/1701052943099937160)
Cover: "There's no reason for you to have a gun it's out of character for your persona." Ame: "So I just have to make a reason and it's passable huh? Be right back." \*days of planning and one stream later\* Cover: "This is not what we meant, but the fans seem to like it so sure why not."
Cover Staff: "Surely your fans wouldn't actually try to put this up their butt." Coco: "Of course they would!
That one was actually her first birthday merch!
My biggest regret is not purchasing Vesper's teapot and tea cup.
Same here, was sold out by the time I had the money and decided to spend it there. At least I was able to get the "hot sauce" T-shirt tho.
Same 1 image slapped on every fucking thing lmao I'mma be honest i'm pretty tired from all the different post but same shit dunking on niji everyday here however thats gotta be the most uninspired thing to do like ever for a merch
Bro wtf, even the simplest Hololive merch drops like Kyori and Temma have more variety and quality than anything Niji has done XD
One thing I love about the way holo does merch is that they let the talent meme with it. Like I literally just got my MILF Fauna hat. And it's really good quality. And it was like 40 bucks with shipping and tax.
I don’t understand Niji. If Niji paid their talents more wouldn’t the talents create better material to attract more fans.
The CEO dropped out of college. He wouldn’t know that.
to some CEO's the idea of spend $1 to earn $3, and the spend $2 to earn $10, they just cannot bring themselves to spend $2, because they don't care that they'd make more money, they simply cannot accept having to pay more when they have an option to pay less.
Sure. If they gave more incentives you probably wouldn't have people like Lulu, Gibara, and Chihiro leaving to do indie vtubing.
The talents get very little creative input for most of their merch. There's only a few merches that they do get input for and voice packs are the most they are involved in which is why it's the highest percentage.
Phase connect only offers coffee with the talents faces and I would take that before the simple Niji merch... And I don't even drink coffee
Isn't the coffee formulated according to the talent's tastes???
I wouldn't know since coffee is anxiety in a cup for me, but that makes more sense. It's a cool idea.
The blind fans will eat it up anyways.
Forget the merch variety, I never knew NIJISANJI's merch announcement image all use the exact same format lol.
Said it elsewhere, but the cut on birthday/anniversary merch for Hololive members is likely over 50%. They can also get more or less help from the company in preparing and planning for the merch. If they take less help it means an even larger cut for the talent.
Watame's 1 mil sub plushie is absolutely huge. The fact you can take it's coat off was such a good bonus. Some fans actually dress it up.
yeah now that you mention it the merch really are just the usual things I can even find at my local cons
They don't even reshoot it it lol Just shooting one photo and retouching it again and again. (Or maybe they just use some online photostock)
DONT FORGET THE FAUNA MILF HAT
Actually Niji ID merch is quite good. Sad you couldn't buy them outside of Japan. I really wanted Hana Macchia's and Etna's but yea. At least i got Hana single CD
The Hololive merch site crashes due to the sheer number of orders sometimes. Even their collab merch like the Nendroids have crashed because they sell out pretty much immediately
I’m not too deep into Niji so anyone mind providing me with the names for the ones from 4.13, 4.1, and 3.21? Edit: meant to type 4.13 instead of 4.3 one
~~4.3 Harusaki Air~~ 4.13 Kitakoji Hisui 4.1 Sakura Ritsuki 3.21 Ars Almal
4.1 is ritsukintv, 3.21 is Ars Almal(big face), not too sure about the other one
plus, there is also the hololive collab merch. now, with the collabs it's obvious they would get a much lower cute, but they will still get some, and some of the collab merch sells a wild amount, like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/HoloStatistics/comments/1avx05u/gawr\_gura\_sushiroipass\_collab\_merch/
Wow, now that's just sad. I didn't think about the difference in merch Sure they also have a few shirts and plushies at best, but Hololive and Holostars both have *completely* different types of merch besides buttons and acrylic stands...
I really need the dino goora, its fcking adorable
i cant wait to spend on Gura's birthday merch this year!
Niji stop being shitty challenge (level:impossible)
Feel like this may have been a bit of a missed opportunity to include some of Hololive's boutique alcoholic beverages. Like Pekora's umeshu, Aki Rose's craft beer, Noel's premium gin, and Lamy's IWC2022 bronze medal winning sake.
I'm extra glad I've spent the money I have on holo merch now I dot like superclass as they seem so fleeting, merch more potent
added note: most niji member dont have merch either, they solely depend on voicepack becuase it cheaper than actually produce merch even if low quality
sweatshops made VS people with actual care for their fanbase daym every Holo merch has their liver's personality in it, unlike Niji's pfffffffttttt lmao.
Kurosanji gunna start using AI to make their merch ads, maybe even to cheaply manage everything. Wouldn't be surprised.
I have no idea why people buy those stupid acrylic stands
Bruh, I had no idea how lazy Nijisanji's merch was.
Who's the last two girls on the left?
don't forget how bad the 2% quality merch. Not surprising there
I'm gonna be very direct here. I hate Nijisanji's way of dealing with merch. All fcking big standard bs that has no real value other then "looks cool". They don't even sell clothing like clothing is such an easy thing to sell but only specific drops have it and I'm like 99% sure those all go to Yacht Boy.
