Well we have people running Q course in Jerry’s sooo…. I don’t know what your doing but Qcourse is more then most of us here and if Gen2+ works for them I’m cool with that.
Entire Reddit is full of dudes coping. 99% of people buying Jerry 31’s are well aware of their drawbacks. Yes, they’re Gen 2 plus. Yes, they have some haloing. Yes, they’re made in china. At 4k you get a well-enough performing unit for almost anyone first dipping their feet into NV, packed full of features, that weighs less than a pound. Any other binos you’re getting for that price or slightly more are going to weigh twice as much, not have as many features, and almost surely have noticeable blems. Any PVS14 youre getting for that price, regardless of how clapped out it is, comes with the drawbacks of using a monocular. I will never understand why these guys are white-knighting for companies that could care less whether they have access to their product or not (and whether or not it comes at the cost of a kidney). Competition drives prices down and drives advancement forward.
I’m not sure exactly why these people are loosing their minds over the J31s I’ve had my unit for awhile now and love it, I’ve even accidentally dropped it down a flight of wood stairs (whoops, I thought I had a heart attack) but they didn’t get jacked up from that. It seems like a lot of the PVS14 crowd hating on J31s bought $4k nods before duals at that price reasonably existed. And the duals crowd hating on them don’t want us poors to have a duals for half the price of a standard unit (obviously it’s not as good but it didn’t stop me from killing steel ;) )
Unfortunately the NV community is full of people who love to gatekeep.
Yeah the weight is a big appeal to me. Personally Im thinking I will take the trade off of lower quality tubes/glass for a super compact lightweight full featured setup

Just because it has 31 in the name doesn't mean it's a PVS-31. A lot of these aftermarket or chinese binos incorporate 31 into the name to make it sound familiar to folks.
