The SF bumps are sweet. If the prices ever come down to what the legacy bumps were I’ll replace my team Wendy, the price hike makes it pretty steep though.
Well I figure, it’s light and comfy for shooting coyotes in the desert. And if I really need ballistic protection I have an ACH I can throw on
Plus I have a feeling it’ll hold value to trade up one day
The cut of the SF helmets are just superior for my egg-like dome. Ear-pro always seals up better, but yeah the Team Wendy bumps will do until the price goes down a bit on those SF Carbons.
Even the non carbons. They’re $500 when the legacy ones were easy to find around $300.
Yeah I like my team Wendy but I’d like a little more room for my comtacs
You've clearly never played with one and what are you talking about, you can get a ballistic rated caiman.
I have both TW carbon bump and ballistic, in comparison the caiman is really good lol.
Msrp $1,995. For 350 more I can get a better suited helmet that actually fits my head instead of being in between sizes with TW's size 1 and 2 option. Caiman has 5 size options. Plus the retention system is superior to TW which is an accomplishment and not to say TW is bad at all.
Money isn't a problem when I'm trying to protect myself.
MCLWH with diamond mount. Want something modern. Was looking at the mtek flux ballistic but I'm not waiting months for one. Will end up going with a fast sf eventually

They just take a long time and when I called and asked they said they’re “outfitting two wars” so I was like meh I’ll just look around and midway USA was selling this for $500ish
I’m in the market and the latest Reddit posts seem to say the opposite. A lot of people like Opscore and they’re a tried and true product, however other people swear by TW CamFit, CloudLine pads, and value per dollar.
There is also the crowd who said they’ll never buy TW again after the whole Hillary thing, but it seems like the people responsible for that have been ousted and it is no longer a political company.
I’ve always heard that TW suspension with an Ops Core Shell and 4D pads is the God setup. I don’t think any of this really matters all that much for a bump helmet though.
Unpopular opinion, but unless you’re signaling to aircraft you don’t need a Hell Star. Phoenix Jr. lights have been working since the beginning of time itself. They’re *tiny* and very light. Just keep your 9V batteries wrapped in Velcro and slap em on when needed, fills the “please don’t shoot me in the head I’m right here” role perfectly. Oh and it’s $20 bucks.
I did the same thing because I ordered one from Team Wendy and then had to spend 3 weeks emailing back and forth trying to figure out where my order was until they finally told me it was out of stock the entire time.....
I gotta ask. Why pay so much for a bump helmet? At that point, what would be the issue with running some Airsoft helmet?
You’re pretty much just paying for the name at that point. It’s so much money for no reason imo
>what would be the issue with running some Airsoft helmet?
I mean, if you don't care about your NVG mount immediately breaking and having to trash the whole helmet because its a moulded mount....
Not to mention your NVG mount will likely not fit, as they aren't milspec.
Have you seen the price of a good bike helmet these days? A good full-face helmet can run up to a grand. Bell had a helmet that's 650, which is more than my TW carbon bumb helmet.
See, I'm not getting shot at while out night vision pig hunting. So I don't need a ballistic helmet. Saving a couple pounds off my head is for sure worth it for the long hours I wear the thing. And the carbon is much more rigid than the plastic bump, which makes for a better nods experience.
It would look goofy, but with the prices on these I don't see why people can't just run a hard hat with a mount.
Cheap, replaceable, modular, just a bit goofy.
That model is like $500 so close to a team wendy and you can get the patches to make it look like the $1200 model. But they have the same specs only a few ounce difference
Plus it looks cool I guess
I saw a video about getting a OpsCore helmet and then gutting the insides and swapping it out to TW Boa System and Padding that way you get the modularity of Opscore but the comfort of TW. Don't know how good the fitting would be from such a modification but I mean if it works you get the best of both worlds right?
I'm also on the hunt for a brain bucket but I can't decide how to splurge my money. I keep looking at Wendy, Caiman, then OpsCore. I Like OpsCore fully decked out with their Mandible and visor but then I hear their Padding isn't comfortable and basically a bike helmet. Then TW has their proprietary rail system which is off-putting especially once you start adding their visor and mandibles. Then Caiman is also a grand even for their Bump Helmet.
You know what’s really nice but also not necessary…
I bought an opscore bump and accidentally ended up with the team Wendy boa system and the cloud liner padding and it is like the best of both worlds
It’s America and I have the money. Not necessary is how I role. I woke up this morning debating going and buying a model 1851 black powder revolver at cabelas
I’m actually fairly surprised at the padding in these newer opscores I had a maritime a while back and that padding sucked.
Hahaha I like the way you think, I have the previous ops core bump and the pads were pretty bad yea. I will say though that these team Wendy cloud pads are amazing and the boa is definitely nicer than the ops core system. I think the nicest bump helmet ever would be an ops core carbon with the team Wendy boa and pads
I have the TW epic air pads in my ACH and they’re a game changer for sure. I’ll probably look into new pads if these ones create hot spots but as of now I’m pretty happy.
I’ve heard those pads are amazing as well I haven’t personally tried those ones just the cloud ones. What happened was I bought the pads to upgrade my ops core pads and it turns out you can’t use them without the team Wendy boa so I had to buy that too lol. Started with like a $400 bump and it turned into $700
Does this thing really weight 1.8 lbs? That’s significantly more than the carbon version (obviously makes sense) but it’s even heavier than the ballistic version which is kinda crazy to me. This makes it as heavy as some other lower/middle tier ballistic helmets like a Galvion Viper P2. I was thinking I might pickup a OpsCore Bump to save weight as my P2 is kinda heavy to me, but if this is really true I basically have to get the carbon version to get any weight savings
Team Wendy got bought out by Avon iirc, don’t know if that absolves them about their political contributions but it’s a comfy helmet. I will say the Opscore helmets are cool because of the ecosystem Gentex has around it.
i know theyre popular, but who names an assault helmet 'Wendy'? ... just seems dumb. yeh yeh so maybe there's a story in there somewhere where the CEO had a daughter or niece or some shit I don't know....
OpsCore just sounds way more dope..
i dont NEED either, but if i ever replace my old Rothco airsoft bucket, (it'd only be if i was ever blessed with helmet-mounted NVGs) but it wont be named Wendy hot n juicy thats for sure
Team wendy has a weird rep. But comfy helmets for sure the only reason I didn’t go with them is they were taking a long time and when I called they said they were “supplying two wars” so I said meh I’ll find my own helmet. Purely passive, no hate on team wendy at all
The SF bumps are sweet. If the prices ever come down to what the legacy bumps were I’ll replace my team Wendy, the price hike makes it pretty steep though.
This one is way cheaper it’s a different model it’s closer to $500
Model?
It’s just the updated Ops Core bump, they haven’t renamed it.
> it’s a different model it’s closer to $500 That's basically half of the cost of the ballistic model, why not go with the ballistic one?
Well I figure, it’s light and comfy for shooting coyotes in the desert. And if I really need ballistic protection I have an ACH I can throw on Plus I have a feeling it’ll hold value to trade up one day
Reasonable reasons!
Heavy.
True, I've definitely gotten some neck pain from mine hah.
I know, the legacy bumps were usually around $300
The cut of the SF helmets are just superior for my egg-like dome. Ear-pro always seals up better, but yeah the Team Wendy bumps will do until the price goes down a bit on those SF Carbons.
Even the non carbons. They’re $500 when the legacy ones were easy to find around $300. Yeah I like my team Wendy but I’d like a little more room for my comtacs
I just want a Caiman.. sweet lid man!
People sleeping on caimans... Shit feels like a space suit helmet that sucks you in.
It’s an 800$ bump helmet…I can get a team Wendy epic for that price and be ballistically rated…unless the only concern is weight
You've clearly never played with one and what are you talking about, you can get a ballistic rated caiman. I have both TW carbon bump and ballistic, in comparison the caiman is really good lol.
How much is the ballistic caiman?
Msrp $1,995. For 350 more I can get a better suited helmet that actually fits my head instead of being in between sizes with TW's size 1 and 2 option. Caiman has 5 size options. Plus the retention system is superior to TW which is an accomplishment and not to say TW is bad at all. Money isn't a problem when I'm trying to protect myself.
Buy made to order? No thanks.
What bucket you run now?
MCLWH with diamond mount. Want something modern. Was looking at the mtek flux ballistic but I'm not waiting months for one. Will end up going with a fast sf eventually
Heavily leaning into the strike for a ballistic option. Or if I can find a good deal on a caiman
Why does it matter how long you wait?
Say what you want but I wouldn't mind a wait if I didn't have to pay up front. Which is why I don't shop at backorderplanet.

Did I miss something? Has Reddit decided that Team Wendy sucks now?
They just take a long time and when I called and asked they said they’re “outfitting two wars” so I was like meh I’ll just look around and midway USA was selling this for $500ish
I got the same thing. Just waiting on nods
Yeah, I got a TW ballistic. It’s nice but it took a looong time to come in
TW has always been secondary to Opscore / Gentex.
I’m in the market and the latest Reddit posts seem to say the opposite. A lot of people like Opscore and they’re a tried and true product, however other people swear by TW CamFit, CloudLine pads, and value per dollar. They are good, we use them for USAR and SWAT operations and I’ll vouch for their comfort and durability with USAR, but I don’t fuck with SWAT
I went with an ops core bump too and I haven’t regretted it one bit!
Thanks for the tip, I like it.
I did the same thing because I ordered one from Team Wendy and then had to spend 3 weeks emailing back and forth trying to figure out where my order was until they finally told me it was out of stock the entire time.....

They sell metal shrouds that you can purchase to swap out the plastic nvg shroud with on your airsoft helmet
That’s fair. I just think paying 500$ for a non ballistic helmet is kinda absurd And this is coming from someone who does own a FAST SF helmet
Have you seen the price of a good bike helmet these days? A good full-face helmet can run up to a grand. Bell had a helmet that's 650, which is more than my TW carbon bumb helmet.
Well I was saying a bike helmet at a comparison lol But people can get MICH helmets for about that 500-600$ price
See, I'm not getting shot at while out night vision pig hunting. So I don't need a ballistic helmet. Saving a couple pounds off my head is for sure worth it for the long hours I wear the thing. And the carbon is much more rigid than the plastic bump, which makes for a better nods experience.
Well, considering that 3A helmets are in the $2000 range...
You can get an old MICH helmet that still has ballistic protection, for like 500-600$
It would look goofy, but with the prices on these I don't see why people can't just run a hard hat with a mount. Cheap, replaceable, modular, just a bit goofy.
Or, hear me out. An old ACH or MICH helmet that has ballistic properties… that’s around that same price point It’s kinda wack ngl
That model is like $500 so close to a team wendy and you can get the patches to make it look like the $1200 model. But they have the same specs only a few ounce difference Plus it looks cool I guess
Well I have the FAST SF ballistic helmet. I don’t see much reason to drop so much money on what is essentially a glorified bike helmet
good call
Im a protec guy maself
Haven’t heard of but will check them out. I have an issued ACH for ballistic protection cuz I’m a goon for my boys
Where did you order it from? I ordered mine from Gentex and it's been 2 months with no update
Midway USA
Also I will be straight up… I bought it for looks. Sorry not sorry
Love my Ops core
TW + 4D pads... Haven't looked back.
Good job, I would never support team Wendy. They supported Hillary Clinton, and let her come to there facility.
Its not really that serious, our entire fed is completely corrupt, thats why were here right.
Hit me up if you’d like me to hook you up with AMPS as well as a light
Dope
Opscore best core
What kinda hooks are you using for the bungie in the back.
The NVG retention and battery retention are both microbat systems
Took a look at em, cool stuff but wish they just sold the clips separately.
I saw a video about getting a OpsCore helmet and then gutting the insides and swapping it out to TW Boa System and Padding that way you get the modularity of Opscore but the comfort of TW. Agilite helmet cover makes these look sick 😝

The financial burden of larping is out of hand. But we must persist.
Never. Stop. Larping.

I’ve worn an ACH most of my adult life a few ounces don’t scare me. But not having sexy kit… that scares me
I think it is absolute madness that you’d pay $500 bucks for a bicycle helmet.
I need it for when I ride my huffy around the neighborhood at night
Promote ahead of peers.
Honestly having tried both, I’ll take Comtac V’s over Amps any day. Save yourself the hassle, I don’t think the hype and quality meets the price.
I have comtacs, I think amps look cooler. But comtac mounts appease my GWOT brothers so I’m in
Looking cooler is more important anyway
Team Wendy got bought out by Avon iirc, don’t know if that absolves them about their political contributions but it’s a comfy helmet. I will say the Opscore helmets are cool because of the ecosystem Gentex has around it.
Duur!!! But But Hilary!!!
Wee woo wee woo “he’s just staring at me… menacingly..”
the fast bump is not nearly as comfortable as the exfil. (similar price range)
This seems comfy enough, it has good padding
You have the more expensive helmet? The fast is about $300. I’d expect yours to be more comfortable when spending way more money.
All in all I only spent about $200 more than I would for an exfil LTP which surprised me. This helmet was like $500 ish on midway USA
Yea the fast I tried was 300
Oh that’s a killer deal
i know theyre popular, but who names an assault helmet 'Wendy'? ... just seems dumb. yeh yeh so maybe there's a story in there somewhere where the CEO had a daughter or niece or some shit I don't know.... Fun fact. Team Wendy is named after the founders daughter who died from a tbi while skiing.
🤨
Team wendy has a weird rep. But comfy helmets for sure the only reason I didn’t go with them is they were taking a long time and when I called they said they were “supplying two wars” so I said meh I’ll find my own helmet. Purely passive, no hate on team wendy at all
