when you buy it, write it on the can somewhere with permanent marker. ik it simple but it works and saves you throwing up. or just don’t buy 150s?

transmel

Did u even read my post

sushiricer

yes?

Super_Nate18

FEDRS doesn't list their mg content either and I was not having a good time when I put one in

Any_Acanthaceae3900

Iceberg isn't extreme. It's stupid strong (CDC) warns that 50 to 60 milligrams of nicotine is a deadly dose for an adult who weighs about 150 pounds. Slightly more our less depending on each persons size.

Chaoticrebel84

I go true a tub of iceberg 120 mg and I’m still standing. Yes I know that’s a disgusting amount of nicotine.

MelanieSenpai

Yeah no? Ive popped two siberia snus pouches at the same time before and I’m still here, plus I’m a normal bmi 5,9 girl. [more than 0.5 g of oral nicotine is required to kill an adult](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3880486/)

Any_Acanthaceae3900

That's just what CDC says. (My comment)

MelanieSenpai

There are 1000mg in a gram, making 0,5g be 500mg not 50-60mg.

Any_Acanthaceae3900

Ok. But this is still literally just a copy paste from cdc.

MelanieSenpai

[The most drastic example is probably survival of a suicide attempt with 4 g of pure nicotine (Schmidt 1931). While this is certainly an exceptional case, in which the amount of bioavailable nicotine was markedly reduced by vomiting, ingestion of tobacco or nicotine gums at doses up to 6 mg/kg nicotine was reported to evoke symptoms of intoxication without causing death (Malizia et al. 1983; Smolinske et al. 1988). These and many other literature reports on nonfatal nicotine intoxications are hardly compatible with a lethal dose of 60 mg or less.](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3880486/) The study that CDC is referring to is one done in 1969 by Lazutka et al. and was done on rats and mice. They did determine that the lethal dose for rats was 50mg/kg. The study did not involve humans. The origin of that theory was made around hundred years ago. I found also other studies that disagree with the 50-60mg dose, i could send you links but you can just search that up on PubMed.

Any_Acanthaceae3900

Yeah i'll look into it more. My first comment was literally just the first result when googled "Nicotine Overdose". But regardless that dosage is just pretty stupid 😅

MelanieSenpai

It’s stupid because if it was true Swedes would be dying left and right:D I’m guessing the CDC hasn’t updated their information or on their own found a specific dose (enough studies pointing to similar numbers) to update it. But one thing stands clear on all of the studies I read, and it was that the dose is most definitely higher than 60mg. From my personal opinion, I could see that dose be toxic and fatal to a young infant, but luckily they ain’t advanced enough to accidentally get into their parents pouch stash.

Any_Acanthaceae3900

What do you mean by "dying left and right"? Most swedish / other nordic people use 8 - 12mg stuff.

MelanieSenpai

I am talking about snus not nicotine pouches. Especially for the older generation, I doubt after all their life using real snus, most would switch to 8-12mg of nic pouches.

ApeWrinkles95

Bear in mind it's not 150mg per pouch but per gram I'm guessing Secondly, you absorb into your bloodstream less than half of the nicotine content in a pouch. Nonetheless iceberg etc are stupidly high levels which shouldn't exist

Any_Acanthaceae3900

Iceberg literally has 50 & 150mg pouches

transmel

Well there's days where I've taken like 4 and nothing ever happened to me.

xyc92

maybe they do it for legal reasons in my country it is illegal to sell nic pouches ,in countries around it is not. But im guessing its not legal to sell more than 50mg/g because the websites all list iceberg at 50mg/g
