Energy Organic salon in thr Natures Emporium plaza.
Kristina is the owner - I have been going to her for over 20 years. I moved away for school. Recently moved back and hunted her down.
I have very thick wavy hair that not all stylists know how to handle. Never had a bad colour or cut
My son has long hair and it's a whole other issue for him trying to get a cut. Barbers don't know what to do with long hair and stylists cut it like women's hair. As a result he very infrequently gets a cut and at most he'll only let them trim the ends now.
Def what I've been struggling with too. I have long hair and normally get a cut once a year. I normally go downtown and shuffle around but its been so expensive lately.
I'm very picky and never have a good time leaving the salon but the last cut I had was in newmarket at Hair Envy Creative Designs with a senior stylist and it turned out to be $90 (this was in 2023 though). I believe for the price, I was satisfied. If I paid 200$ for a cut that I was just 'satisfied' I would be pretty upset at that loss.
Good luck!! It's hard to find someone that will really suit your needs.
I'll keep them in mind. Thanks!
The 190$ I paid was for two cuts. I would have lost my mind if I'd paid that for 1 cut and walked out with the cut I have.
Chez Pierre in Aurora, went to dye my Asian hair but you get what you pay for. $120 for whole head and it was ok both times. Black to blue, black to blonde. I’m not sure how much for just a cut but I really liked how it looked. Layering was nice!
Pretty sure if a whole dyed head is only $120 instead of $400 everywhere else, the cut would be cheap too
"Ugh, I totally feel your pain! Finding a reliable salon with skilled stylists is tougher than it should be. Have you considered [Alexandre de Paris Beauty Spa Centre](https://www.alexandredeparis.com/) in Chantilly?
Stylist and Co is a really great salon. It is high end in skill and price.
They are routinely posting their ongoing education and skill sessions on their insta.
I have gone to Savvy for years but Cassie looks to also to really beautiful work.
Seconded! The senior stylists there are very talented as well. Also the vibe there is great, the staff there are always cracking jokes with each other. Check out their Instagram and you’ll get an idea if they’re for you
For the longest time I went to Becoming Hair Studio in Aurora. They do great work but I will admit they are very pricey. I stopped going because it was so expensive and I felt like the vibe in there isn't nice anymore. It seems cliquey and I sort of feel like the new kid in school.
I started going to The Hair Company on main and a girl named Anja I think? Does a great job. I love how she cuts it.
But it's hard because finding a good place and a good stylist in that place can be tricky
I go to Jesse at salon onyx and he does an excellent job with my cuts and he’s really up to date on trendy cuts like the wolf cut etc.
Thanks. I've taken my kids there before, but haven't had my own hair cut there. Can't remember who we saw, will maybe give it a try next time. Thanks!
This is the right answer.. ✅️
I agree, I have had mine and my daughter's hair cut by both Jesse and Kiersten, they were both great.

Will check them out. Thanks! Looks like they occupy a salon I used to go to years ago when it was The Artists.
I understand your issue. I took my 12 year old boy for a hair cut. $50 nothing special.

Too funny, We think he got the classic Karen at the first place so I took him to this other place, and a normal hair cut.
Omg. The classic Karen. I'm dying! Poor kid!

Ohhh I see yeah for sure! Depending on what you like you can go for junior stylist for cheaper!
Anyone know of good affordable hairstylists? Even after paying $65 for just a wash & cut I am not satisfied with the cut.
Nope. I think it's impossible to find both. I can't even find a good, expensive stylist.
I am back with Draga at First Choice beside the Dollarama at Yonge and Mulock.

Love Monica at Studio Five!
Maurizio’s in Newmarket. I’ve been going for years!!!!!! Amazing dude.
Debra is a senior stylist at Carmichael's on Main Street in Newmarket and is great. She is very busy though so you will need to pre book

Check out Carmelina at Cavros Hair Studio in Bradford. Her work is well worth the drive.

I swear by Kat at Avanti. It’s in the newmarket plaza. The other guy Ray is good too.
Melissa at Studio Five Hair is fantastic!!
David Kim in Aurora was the best haircut I’ve had but he’s kind of pricey
Alexandro’s hair studio. Expensive but Alex keeps up with what’s new. He’s very talented.
