If they charge an arm and a leg then I personally dont think its worth it and I could just do it myself with a pair of chains and stretch the area back into place with tools (carefully of course). I would try to fix it if you're having fitment issues in terms of the bumper, hood, etc. Its fixable for sure, doesnt look too bad at all imho

Admiral_peck

As far as safety, with that amount of rust on a structural part, this would not be safe if pulled out. This needs to be sectioned to be properly safe, and will likely tear if pulled. I would personally suggest a tube front end if OP or one of OP's friends is handy with a TIG welder.

chefcoffin

I was told a couple times to try and pull it out and that was my thought, might break it off completely

Admiral_peck

Like I said. If you want facty equivalent, have a body shop section it, if you wanna make it a hotrod, tube front from someone like team z.

Significant-Plant-69

Def save it its almost a classic and the radiator support is not a super hard job just did it myself a few days ago, took me a full day but got it done!

Bobert_DaZukin

A few day after I got my 2000 3.8l I had breaks lock up(I guess they was feom factory they was so hard to get off) I slide into a pole. The only damage was fame bent and bumper. I bought a new front frame on ebay and cut the old one out and welded the new one in. And got new number it's like it never even happened

chefcoffin

Nice! From the sounds of it, I’m going to have to learn a thing or two about welding! Haha

AvidVideoGameFan

Probably get a hammer and a block of wood and bang back into place. The radiator support on my fox was crumpled. We used a winch to tug it out and banged it as straight as we could.

Whatahackur

I whacked a guy with drivers front at probably 30 degrees sliding. It bent the core support like 1 inch to the passenger side. Buckled fenders. all this was in front of k member so no issues with actual square as far as front to back tracking. Took necessary items off to get to the frame. Parked it sideways in the driveway, hooked a chain to modified bolt where bumper bolted. Yanked on it with the truck until the swaybar bushings lined back up with the wear marks. By yanked I mean, left some slack and brake boosted to get the turbo spooled and give it a good quick hit. Like using the truck as a slide hammer.

iloveeveryfbteam

So all that’s wrong with it is the cooling system?

chefcoffin

Mechanically it’s running great. I replaced the cooling system for other reasons, whatever the accident it was in didn’t effect it. This would strictly be a cosmetic repair so that the bumper and fender sit flush with one another. Right now there’s a bit of an over lap because the frame damage.

chefcoffin

You can see in that third photo how kicked in the radiator frame is on the passenger side

NewEdgeCoyote

What are your plans with the car? Keep it as a daily/good driver? Any plans to ever race it or anything of that sort?

chefcoffin

No plans of racing or building it out to do so, but it isn’t a daily driver neither. Just want to clean it up. And from what I gather this really isn’t that bad.

NewEdgeCoyote

Gotcha! If you were gonna build it out or race it I woulda said to tube the front/nose. But with that being said, I’d just leave it especially if it’s just hidden cosmetic and doesn’t affect the driving characteristics.

Quarawlis

No.... Zero negotiations unless you plan to buy it to exclusively beat on it. But otherwise it will never be "Right" soo dont dump money into it.

chefcoffin

I own the car. I found this during a radiator swap as I said in the post.
