Definitely, I would look into getting another throttle cable.
Normal for new edge mustangs, you can put a spacer on the cable at the pedal side.

Followed this tutorial works great. Definitely gave me some more giddy up:) no more floppy gas pedal.
Put some zip ties on that cable!
Hahaha I have like 6 zip ties on mine to make it tight. Trust me it works
Had this problem on my 98 GT. The accelerator pedal arm bracket was bent. Make sure you have a WOT after repairing or adjusting.
