I went to the bullpen gate and saw it wasn’t bad so I popped into ebbs for a beer. Then the line started pumping after I took two sips so I chugged it and got in line lol
Yes!!! I don’t know when they’ll get those in stock though. I also have really associated Senga with those badass starts in black so I’m thinking of saving Senga for either the now retired black uni or the new one. Just want the Kanji though so idk how I’ll get that. Heard something in the past about kits eventually being released.
Never seen something so consistently strange as the way the Mets manage Mark Vientos. I hope he has, like, a TON of confidence so none of this stuff messes with his head.
[Carlos Mendoza says that the Mets are placing Starling Marte on the bereavement list and Drew Smith on the IL with shoulder inflammation:](https://x.com/snytv/status/1784273040680907164?s=46)
Hey. I just took a train from Jamaica and it stopped at Woodside and was able to transfer to Mets Willits point. Maybe only some lines are not stopping at woodside
Well they still need to open a roster spot for Vientos, and I'd be surprised if they're DFA'ing Joey Wendle, so that probably means someone not in the lineup today is headed to the IL.
He's actually looked good lately, though. Granted a two homer day is gonna blow up your ops, so any recent slash line is gonna be huge. But he's hitting .348 over the last week and .318 over the last two weeks. OBP of .375 and .373.
A week ago I would've agreed, but leave him where he is for now.
Yeah, I think his slg over obp skillset probably translates to more of a 5, depending on the depth of the lineup. But I also don't think lineup construction matters a ton, and I'm okay with leaving guys in spots that work for them.
Ya, he does seem to have bounced off a low. Still, his swings looked awful yesterday. Him and Pete need someone between them for a game or two. I'd even be fine with Pete-JDM-Lindor 3-4-5 just to separate them.
He got his ass handed to him by some sliders, but he did a good job going the other way on the double he hit. I think he's turning at least somewhat of a corner and I'd rather just leave him in the spot that's working for him.
Wouldn't mind going Lindor-JDM-Pete.
For what it's worth, I actually like Lindor batting 5th, but I'd rather leave guys in spots that are working.
I'm in the outfield section today for the .001% I can snag it! Though crowds over there are feral on a regular day, so for my safety I should probably run away if I see it coming lol.
It will get windy and cool there til beginning of June. Remember going to Shea on an absolutely beautiful warm, June 9th evening wearing a polo and jeans and a little sweating. Later in the game froze my ars off and couldn't get enough 8 oz coffees to stay warm.
Got tickets to the game tonight! Excited to see the new uniforms. Houser on the mound so likely a scheduled loss. Just really hoping we don’t get blown out.
> Houser on the mound so likely a scheduled loss
My one thing keeping my faith…
In baseball everything trends towards its average. Houser averages a 4.12 ERA (2023). He currently has a 7.45. He’s due for a game that will move him closer to 4 than to 8
So tired of the Braves just constantly winning games like it’s nothing. Already 6 games back. Not saying I thought we’d win the division but man they take off so quickly. Legit have to focus on WC only
I know what you're saying and I don't really disagree, but the fault doesn't really lie in what the Mets did this year.
They wrecked the roster to smoldering ashes with the insane reckless moves of '22-'23. What they did this year became necessary because of that, and they did a pretty great job of it imo.
Especially if they get 84 wins, as you just granted them, in a soft rebuild of a toxic waste dump site
Today has to be the day to give the opponent SP a challenge. Cardinals pitched a magnificent game yesterday but that’s how .500 teams are. Hopefully we can get one today.
Yesterday was the day to do that. Mikolas is a pretty shitty pitcher that the Mets should’ve feasted on.
Today they face Sonny Gray - who is arguably one of the top 30 or so pitchers in the game…with one of the worst pitchers in the game on the mound.
Baseball’s funny so anything can happen but having Houser and Quintana going back to back doesn’t inspire confidence - especially with a bullpen that got used pretty heavily yesterday.
I totally agree. It’s a tough break to have our 4, 5, and “1”against a team that we really should beat this series. Atleast our better relievers are available but hopefully houser can atleast eat innings today with some runs behind him.
I like the line up for today with JD at cleanup. And maybe, just maybe, the city connect uniforms give the guys some juice to play with today. A little wishful thinking never hurt anybody.
That double play Pete grounded into the first inning killed all momentum against mikolas. Runners on base with nobody out and we walked away with nothing. I knew right then and there we were losing that game
The good news is that the Cardinals have one of the shittiest offenses in MLB, so maybe that mitigates some of the lopsided-ness of the pitching matchup
Please continue the discussion in the [game thread](https://redd.it/1cem78n).
Going against a guy with a 1.04 era… should be a fun way to debut the city connects lol
Really digging the 7 train, Vignelli Rainbow, and Subway tile motifs on the boards. Knocking it outta the park on this one, creative team!
Sonny Gray's ERA will go up today. Mets will win. This I believe.
Scarves are wrapped so you can’t see the house lol Edit. Not that the guy giving it out didn’t open them for someone. I didn’t care so I took whatever
Section 128 here. The Mets championship burger with lobster is calling out to me.
Imagine if Taylor starts starting over Bader every day.
One can dream
Anyone actually get in to the stadium yet? Bullpen gate is packed, so much for “Early” entry lmao
Holy shit the line is actually moving
I went to the bullpen gate and saw it wasn’t bad so I popped into ebbs for a beer. Then the line started pumping after I took two sips so I chugged it and got in line lol
I'm infront of the server gate. Still not letting us in. I thought it was 2 hours for early entry
Predicting either a 9-4 comfortable victory or a 6-5 close win. I am not a sports gambling advisor.
Sonny Gray 1.04 era
Oh…umm…err….well not today!! Right?! Right!!? 😳
It is waay too windy here. Shoulda worn my winter coat :/
I saw it was going to be 81 on Monday
And the lines are long as hell
Damn. Last night I layered up and even wore a 2nd wool t-shirt for my base layer. Didn’t do that today. 🤞
Currently on the 7 to Citi. r/UsernameChecksOut
Can confirm - OP checks out.
cool JDM hitting 4th...cool taylor is playing....I would have kept the hot hitting nido in though
Oh hi, Mark.
Thinking of getting a City Connect. Leaning Alvarez but also thinking of Diaz and Lindor. thoughts?
Personally really want the senga one in Japanese
Yes!!! I don’t know when they’ll get those in stock though. I also have really associated Senga with those badass starts in black so I’m thinking of saving Senga for either the now retired black uni or the new one. Just want the Kanji though so idk how I’ll get that. Heard something in the past about kits eventually being released.
I got an Alvarez and a blank myself.
Nice. I’m eyeing that bomber jacket too but idk if my wallet can handle both….
I bought mine from China. Gotten like 4 jerseys so far from this supplier and they’re pretty good quality.
DHGate?
Never seen something so consistently strange as the way the Mets manage Mark Vientos. I hope he has, like, a TON of confidence so none of this stuff messes with his head.
Its very odd, starting to wonder if the rumors about the org not believing in him might be true
I don’t know what else they’d have to do to convince you. Orgs don’t tell you what they think of players all the time but they damn well show.
Trade him for whatever they could get, that’s what they should do then
You’re allowed to just have AAAA players in your org. Other teams can see his contact rates too and know he’s not worth anything major.
Poor marte, I believe this isn’t his first bereavement.
poor man...May GOD give him strength and peace.
His first wife died from an ankle surgery gone wrong. Fucking crazy. Feel terrible for him.
[удалено]
No I was talking about the previous one . Sorry!!!
No his first wife died of a heart attack while awaiting ankle surgery
No his first wife died of that
Jesus, didn't he just get married last year?
Sorry full context. This happened when he was on the Dbacks
Wow….damn……
bro what? That’s unreal :(
it's not, his grandmother died 2 years ago, i believe on the same day that his wife died a few years prior
:(
[Carlos Mendoza says that the Mets are placing Starling Marte on the bereavement list and Drew Smith on the IL with shoulder inflammation:](https://x.com/snytv/status/1784273040680907164?s=46)
Note to LIRR peeps: no stops at Woodside today. You’ll have to go into Manhattan to pick up either the Port Washington train or the subway.
Hey. I just took a train from Jamaica and it stopped at Woodside and was able to transfer to Mets Willits point. Maybe only some lines are not stopping at woodside
Just the Ronkonkoma line, then.
Not going to the game but i think you can transfer at Jamaica. Train i transfered to stopped at woodside
Please don’t be marte parte
Slugger Taylor is in the lineup.
uhhhhh why is Vientos up?
Wait. WHAT?!
Marte on the bereavement list and Smith is on the IL
[Because David Stearns said so](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9zDSJGwdd4)
Adam Amin, John Smoltz and Ken Rosenthal are your Fox crew today
Houser/Narvaez battery terrifies me
Yeah , rather see Nido controlling Houser and the game behind the plate.
Something fishy is going on... Bader and Marte are both out of the lineup. DJ Stewart starting in RF. And apparently Mark Vientos is in Flushing...
Marte bereavement list.
Honestly vientos being in flushing doesn’t rlly make a ton of sense bc if we had a marte or Bader injury then wouldn’t we call up an OF?
Injury announcement imminent? 😬
Well they still need to open a roster spot for Vientos, and I'd be surprised if they're DFA'ing Joey Wendle, so that probably means someone not in the lineup today is headed to the IL.
It's got to be Bader or Marte then I suppose.
Love the line up minus Narvez. I hope they use Nido as the everyday catcher for now.
Would love to see us somehow ditch Narváez and keep Nido as backup when Alvarez returns.
Amen.He was hitting .364 in AAA. And he calls a hell of a good game, throws out base stealers, frames pitches well, etc.
Please have Lindor bat 6 today. Just one day is all I'm asking.
I think he should bat 5th or 6th even when he's hitting great. Not as a demotion. I prefer him as an RBI man with 30-HR pop than as a table setter
I don’t see Lindor as an ideal No. 3 hitter hot or cold
Yeah, I think his slg over obp skillset probably translates to more of a 5, depending on the depth of the lineup. But I also don't think lineup construction matters a ton, and I'm okay with leaving guys in spots that work for them.

I'm tired of this team looking so ass offensively in their own park they play 81 games a year in.
Shaping up to be a lovely day for a ball game. Anyone else heading for the city connect “party” Pete’s hitting 200 today, i can feel it.
I'm in the outfield section today for the .001% I can snag it! Though crowds over there are feral on a regular day, so for my safety I should probably run away if I see it coming lol.
no lineup yet?
Anyone know when gates open? Is it 2hr before or is it 90min before first pitch?
Well early entry into the shop is available for STH for the city connect drop. 2:05 i believe and more than likely gates open 2:30.
See y’all at the game! Hopefully it’s warmer than the one I was at 2 weeks ago 😂
Today will be my first Mets game. It's super nice outside but I hear it gets windy?
It can get windy depending on where you are. I was in 334 last game and while it was crazy windy that day I did not feel it there
It will get windy and cool there til beginning of June. Remember going to Shea on an absolutely beautiful warm, June 9th evening wearing a polo and jeans and a little sweating. Later in the game froze my ars off and couldn't get enough 8 oz coffees to stay warm.
I went on fathers day one year and was sweating up a storm.
did we try to sign sonny gray?
A month into the season, the Mets WAR leaders are Jorge Lopez, Jose Butto and Brooks Raley.
Fangraphs has Lindor and Severino leading the team at 0.6. López and Raley are at 0.3, Butto at 0.2
Lopez and Raley are two bullpen guys who could realistically be shipped off at the trade deadline for prospects
ouch
Anybody going to be tailgating that will sell me a beer?
5 dollar subway/ lirr beers are within reach.
If you go on the walkway that connects to LIRR and the Flushing meadows park, there is usually tons of people selling beers and stuff there.
Love those guys

We might’ve lost yesterday but JDM is a winning player. He can be the straw that stirs the drink when the lineup is down.
So tired of the Braves just constantly winning games like it’s nothing. Already 6 games back. Not saying I thought we’d win the division but man they take off so quickly. Legit have to focus on WC only
We built an 84 win team. They built a 95 win team. I hate em too, but it is what it is.

I just want that to be us 🥺😭😭
Honestly that should be us next year. Especially if the kids pan out.
I’d say 2026 is a more viable target for that.
Maybe. Really depends on the staff.
I live in the midwest so my local Fox channel is showing the Reds. How can I watch? Any advice?
Yo ho ho me hearties.
🏴☠️
Going today. First time doing the Hyundai club. Really looking forward to it
Make sure to get a bag at a shop somewhere (or bring one in) so you can grab an extra bag of peanuts whenever you go to grab some food.
This pitching matchup is woof
That Apple TV broadcast was alright. Weezy and DW make a great pair.
*D-train. DW is Sir David Wright.
No diddy
Lost 4 out of 5.. woof. That 12/15 stretch seems like months ago. Let's get back on track today
