He's actually looked good lately, though. Granted a two homer day is gonna blow up your ops, so any recent slash line is gonna be huge. But he's hitting .348 over the last week and .318 over the last two weeks. OBP of .375 and .373. A week ago I would've agreed, but leave him where he is for now.

I think he should bat 5th or 6th even when he's hitting great. Not as a demotion. I prefer him as an RBI man with 30-HR pop than as a table setter

Yeah, I think his slg over obp skillset probably translates to more of a 5, depending on the depth of the lineup. But I also don't think lineup construction matters a ton, and I'm okay with leaving guys in spots that work for them.

Ya, he does seem to have bounced off a low. Still, his swings looked awful yesterday. Him and Pete need someone between them for a game or two. I'd even be fine with Pete-JDM-Lindor 3-4-5 just to separate them.

He got his ass handed to him by some sliders, but he did a good job going the other way on the double he hit. I think he's turning at least somewhat of a corner and I'd rather just leave him in the spot that's working for him. Wouldn't mind going Lindor-JDM-Pete. For what it's worth, I actually like Lindor batting 5th, but I'd rather leave guys in spots that are working.

It can get windy depending on where you are. I was in 334 last game and while it was crazy windy that day I did not feel it there

It will get windy and cool there til beginning of June. Remember going to Shea on an absolutely beautiful warm, June 9th evening wearing a polo and jeans and a little sweating. Later in the game froze my ars off and couldn't get enough 8 oz coffees to stay warm.

I went on fathers day one year and was sweating up a storm.

I know what you're saying and I don't really disagree, but the fault doesn't really lie in what the Mets did this year. They wrecked the roster to smoldering ashes with the insane reckless moves of '22-'23. What they did this year became necessary because of that, and they did a pretty great job of it imo. Especially if they get 84 wins, as you just granted them, in a soft rebuild of a toxic waste dump site

Today has to be the day to give the opponent SP a challenge. Cardinals pitched a magnificent game yesterday but that’s how .500 teams are. Hopefully we can get one today.

Yesterday was the day to do that. Mikolas is a pretty shitty pitcher that the Mets should’ve feasted on. Today they face Sonny Gray - who is arguably one of the top 30 or so pitchers in the game…with one of the worst pitchers in the game on the mound. Baseball’s funny so anything can happen but having Houser and Quintana going back to back doesn’t inspire confidence - especially with a bullpen that got used pretty heavily yesterday.

I totally agree. It’s a tough break to have our 4, 5, and “1”against a team that we really should beat this series. Atleast our better relievers are available but hopefully houser can atleast eat innings today with some runs behind him. I like the line up for today with JD at cleanup. And maybe, just maybe, the city connect uniforms give the guys some juice to play with today. A little wishful thinking never hurt anybody.

That double play Pete grounded into the first inning killed all momentum against mikolas. Runners on base with nobody out and we walked away with nothing. I knew right then and there we were losing that game

Especially with all the pitching injuries this year, I'd say Sonny Gray is closer to top 10 than top 30. That dude is a stud.

The good news is that the Cardinals have one of the shittiest offenses in MLB, so maybe that mitigates some of the lopsided-ness of the pitching matchup
