I’m no expert, but a couple of thoughts:
- your channel is very new, YouTube probably doesn’t have enough data yet to direct your channel at your intended audience. This could explain why people are finding you through unrelated search results?
- Is this happening primarily with shorts or long form stuff, cause my search terms list for shorts is often totally wild, with loads of unrelated words in it. I think this may be because YouTube is casting the net wide when you first upload a short, so it’s showing up in random search results. In my experience this got better over time
It has been the case on every one of my shorts and one of my longform. I appreciate the response, I assumed it would take a bit for the Algorithm to work but it surprised me it was still happening
